Hotel Review – Hotel Ocidental Dresden Newa
I recently stayed at Hotel Ocidental Dresden Newa, and while the property benefits from a central location in the inner city, the overall experience was disappointing.
The hotel’s greatest advantage is indeed its proximity to the city center, allowing convenient access to major attractions and public transportation. However, aside from this, the stay was overshadowed by several shortcomings.
Firstly, the amenities were very limited, and the guest room itself appeared dated and somewhat worn, reflecting the age of the hotel. This left an impression of tiredness rather than comfort.
The most concerning issue, however, relates to the parking situation. The hotel advertises that it offers its own parking facilities, yet in reality, this is not the case. Guests are required to use a public parking facility nearby, which is misleading and highly inconvenient. This information should be corrected immediately, as it creates false expectations for visitors arriving by car.
Additionally, the area in front of the hotel is consistently overcrowded with parked vehicles, often blocking arriving guests from accessing the entrance or unloading luggage during check-in. This further contributed to a frustrating arrival experience.
In conclusion, while the central location is undeniably practical, the limited amenities, outdated rooms, misleading information about parking, and poorly managed entrance area significantly detract from the overall quality of the stay. I would strongly recommend the management address these issues to ensure a more accurate representation of the hotel and a better experience for future guests.
The first two pics you'll see the incredible proximity between Hyperion and the train station and mall. I was exhausted that day so it was super good that the hotel is 1-minute walk from the station! If you want to go to the city center (shopping street or St. Thomas church), it's only a simple 10-15 min walk. A smiley and kind blonde lady checked me in, she was really helpful and genuine. As for the room, it was modern and clean. Highly recommend!
Ein supertolles Hotel ,sehr edle Ausstattung,zur Begrüßung im Zimmer ein persönlicher Willkommensgruss mit Pralinen,Minibar bestens ausgestattet mit Wasser,Fanta,Säften ,Wein und Bier-findet man wirklich selten,Zimmer alle mit Balkon und im Schrank sogar eine Kuscheldecke für abends,wenn man den bereitgestellten Rotwein genießen möchte! Kaffekocher und Tee auf dem Zimmer,Mega großes Bad in ganz tollen blauen Fließen-wir hatten ein Doppelbett und eine Schlafcouch für zwei Personen in getrennten Räumen und beide Räume hatten Flachbildfernseher!
Nachts kann es etwas laut sein,da neben dem Hotel die Straßenbahnen fahren,aber dafür liegt das Hotel sehr zentral neben dem Hauptbahnhof und der großen einkaufsmeile.Zoo in 10 min zu erreichen
Gemütliches Ambiente zum reichhaltigen Frühstück ,parkgarage im Hotel für 22 Euro pro Nacht,muss vorher reserviert werden-alles problemlos und wir waren als Familie wirklich begeistert-kommen nimmer JEDEN Fall wieder!!!
Das Hotel verfügt über ein Wellnessbeteich ohne Pool aber mit Sauna und Salzsauna von 17-22 Uhr,wird für jeden persönlich angeheizt bei Bedarf(12 Euro pro Person)
O hotel era muito bom, bom serviço, quarto um pouco pequeno para 2 pessoas, e ouvimos os sinos da catedral localizada em frente ao hotel, até tínhamos um quarto voltado para o outro lado.
A única coisa positiva sobre este hotel é a sala grande e espaçosa, e a localização, super central, embora a moqueta seja inofensiva.
Sempre aprecio um carrinho de bagagem, MAS um no quarto de duas pessoas é ridículo.
Também não tivemos sorte com o banheiro, porque o banheiro estava mal montado, então o banheiro estava a criar um lago no banheiro.
O hotel não está bem organizado, tivemos de esperar muito para a chegada e quando finalmente chegou a nossa hora, embora a sala estivesse pronta, teriamos de pagar para a chegada Mais cedo por apenas 50 minutos.
Deixámos as malas e voltámos mais tarde, e tivemos de voltar a colocá-las com todos OS convidados que acabaram de chegar, por mais de meia hora.Só precisamos de cartões-chave, já fizemos o trabalho de papelada.
Eles preautorizaram 50€ por noite em nossos cartões, se quisermos usar o serviço de quarto ou o restaurante, o que nós explicamos não. E se você olhar para o menu de serviço de quarto, você também não quer..
Espero que uma cadeia famosa como o Hilton saiba que “Taglietelle Carbonara” não existe, é “Spagetti carbonara” ou “Rigatoni alla carbonara”.
Além disso, “Spagetti bololognese” também não existe, é “tagliatelle bololognese”.
Há UMA piscina, MAS não é claro se está disponível para todos OS hóspedes.O Pessoal não está ansioso por divulgar informações.
Seria bom que mais do pessoal pudesse falar inglês (e talvez um terceiro idioma), porque muitos hóspedes são turistas de outros países.
Wir waren mit verschieden Kollegen für einen Kongress in der Stadt, das Hotel ist ein sehr schönes Boutique. Hotel mit einer sehr angenehmen zentral gelegenen Bar, schöne Zimmer, leider war der Spabereich in Renovierung. Auch das Hotel Restaurant ist hervorragend, die Lage ist zentral. Insgesamt sehr zu empfehlen!
O hotel fica um pouco longe da estação central, mas usei o bonde para chegar lá. É tranquilo e silencioso, o que é ótimo.
O melhor de tudo é que havia uma banheira, então pude tomar um banho demorado e aliviar o cansaço da viagem.
Outro ótimo recurso foi a loja de conveniência dentro do hotel.
Consegui comprar água, bebidas alcoólicas, lanches, etc.
A equipe da recepção também foi muito prestativa. Altamente avaliado.

HHEEYEONI made a reservation on the same day and used it, but the facilities were very clean and the location was right next to the station, so I was very satisfied. The price was expensive because it was a same-day reservation, so I would be willing to visit again if it was cheaper.

Ssalvalasilvia The only positive thing about this hotel were the room, big and spacious, and the location, super central. Although the moquette is unhygienic.
I always appreciate a luggage rack but one in a room for 2 people is ridiculous.
We also got unlucky with the bathroom as the shower curtain was mounted wrong so taking a shower meant creating a lake in the bathroom.
The hotel is not very well organised, we had to wait a lot to check-in and when it was finally our turn, even though the room was ready, we would have had to pay to check in earlier for mere 50 minutes. Embarrassing.
We left the luggages and came back later and had to queue again with all the guests that had just arrived, for more than half an hour. We only needed the key cards, we already did all the paperwork.
They preauthorised 50€ per night on our cards, in case we wanted to use the room service or the restaurant, which we explained we didn’t. And if you looked at the room service menu, you wouldn’t want to as well..
I would expect a famous chain like the Hilton to know that “Taglietelle Carbonara” doesn’t exist, it’s “Spaghetti carbonara” or “Rigatoni alla carbonara”.
Furthermore “Spaghetti bolognese” doesn’t exist as well, it’s “tagliatelle bolognese”.
There’s a pool but it’s unclear if it’s available to every guest. The staff is not keen on divulging information.
It would be nice if more of the staff would be able to speak English (and maybe a third language) as a lot of the guests are tourists from other countries.
GGuest UserThe hotel is large, the facilities are a bit old but it has everything it should have, and it is very cost-effective. There is free parking at the hotel entrance, and the front desk will take the initiative to inform you.
Special thanks to Ctrip butler Zejing. At that time, the hotel information was wrong. After receiving the feedback, Zejing took the customer's perspective and solved the problem as soon as possible instead of shirking responsibility. He also has strong business capabilities, not only promoting the problem solving but also keeping the information informed during the process. He turned a negative event into a plus point. Ctrip will be my first choice for going out in the future
XXiaolongThere are ants in the room on the first floor of the villa. The environment is beautiful, the breakfast is good, the swimming fee is 5 euros per person, and the children are half price. Parking is charged. Don't be together like a stranger
HHuanledemaThe hotel is in the city center, with nice interior decoration and low-key appearance. I found the hotel only when I arrived at the door. Because I arrived on Sunday, there were few people in the city center and almost all businesses were closed. On Monday, the market near the hotel opened, which was really lively. It is very convenient to go everywhere. I basically walked to all the attractions. I like the Bach Museum the most. It is really enjoyable to listen to Bach's works with headphones!

It has a beautiful view, and the room was spacious, so I had a wonderful stay. I was in room 570, and the room condition was exceptionally good. I definitely plan to stay here again if I come back to Dresden.

Housekeeping könnte besser sein. Bodenreinigung eher mangelhaft in meinem Zimmer während meines Aufenthaltes.
1x wurde Zimmerreinigung vergessen.
Frühstück an Angebot sehr gut und sehr frisch und lecker. Gerade die Barista Maschine für Cappuccino und andere Spezialitäten war super gewesen. WLAN im Haus eher schwach und bricht häufiger ab.
Insgesamt sehr gutes Preis- Leistungsverhältnis. Kann man ohne Beeinträchtigungen weiterempfehlen.
LLee angsThe hotel is located near St. John's Church on Dresden Square. The staff are polite and friendly, and the rooms are spacious and stylish. Our room faced a residential house, and we felt like we were immersed in the local area and experiencing German life!
AAH TAWe changed the room with the Frauenkirche view to a bigger room 300(39 m2). However the bathroom door is shared with the cupboards. That disturb the other when one goes to toilet in the night. The door makes noise and lights from the bathroom wakes up the other. These for 3 nights we didn’t sleep well. The elegant Grand cafe close by is wonderful in the evening for drinks.
