"The management needs improvement. Even the simplest check-in process can go wrong. Our two-night stay was reduced to one night, and we were even called and asked why we didn’t check out on time. We explained the situation to the hotel management, but they never called us back. After that, We were so nervous that we thought the hotel had thrown our things out, so we rushed back to the hotel to deal with it. They didn’t even an apology."

"Stayed here for one night before an early flight. The room was clean and comfortable, view to the Airport and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The on-site restaurant is currently under renovation, but this was well managed with no construction noise at all. The free shuttle to the airport takes about 5 minutes, which makes this hotel very convenient for transit stays. Overall a pleasant, hassle-free stopover."

"Not aware that pullman was having some renovation and we need to take staircase to level 2 and get the lift to our room. Also next day after cleaner done the room service noticed she pressed the toilet bowl flush button too hard and never bounced back caused water kept flushing nonstop. Lucky I have returned to hotel room as, forgot to take something and tried to pull that flush button up. I I felt still have room for improvement for quality or cleaner. Overall the counter staffs and others are very friendly and helpful too. Good location of this hotel and look forward again to stay hopefully the renovation done."

"I have always stayed in Merdeka Palace and Suites each time I go to Kuching because of location. For this trip I stayed in Room 1301 from 7 - 10 Dec 2025. Pleasant surprise during my stay at the 2-bedroom suites because some refurbishment have been done. The old carpets were replaced with SPC flooring. Old furnishings were replaced with new curtains, 2-seater settee and a Samsung flat TV. The 2-bedroom suite is really spacious and you get a good view of the city centre facing the Dewan Undangan Negeri building. WELL DONE TO THE MANAGEMENT for the upgrading works."

"We really enjoyed the ambience of the hotel. It is clean, fresh, and pleasantly scented. The room is spacious, and the bed sheets, pillows, and mattress are very comfortable and well maintained. The bathroom amenities are complete, and the water pressure is good. The facilities, including the swimming pool and gym, are also well maintained. The hotel is conveniently located next to a mall, which is perfect for shopping, and there are many great dining options nearby. Area for improvement: The hairdryer is quite small and not very powerful, so it takes a long time to dry long hair."

"Overall stay was pretty okay. Restaurant's service is all right but could be improved though. Breakfast had a good variety of options. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. No bottled water in the room but they provide a filtered tap in the bathroom instead, which if you're not comfortable with using, there's always a supermarket next door to get some supplies."

For me, nothing was particularly bad, that’s the thing. Everything was okay, comfortable, acceptable…but I didn’t get that “WOW, this is a 5-star hotel!” feeling. The room itself was spacious and comfortable, but I was quite surprised that the tea selection was limited to Lipton, with Nescafé for coffee. I would have appreciated a slightly better selection, perhaps Dilmah or a few different varieties of tea. It may seem like a small detail, but these little touches really contribute to the overall premium experience. Breakfast? Okay. Cuma personally I expected a little more variety from a 5-star hotel. Service? Okay. Good. Pool? Nice. Gym? Good. Big View? Very Beautiful. 🌅

City Rise Hotel Miri – Spacious Room & Great Location The room was huge and spacious, although our double-bed room had no window. Unfortunately, there was a strong urine-like smell coming from the toilet when we first opened the room door, which was quite unpleasant. I also found some hair beside the bed, so cleanliness could definitely be improved. The basement parking is limited, and one annoying thing is that you need to check in first before you’re allowed to park in the basement. We were told not to park at the side of the lobby even just for a short while while checking in. We explained that we needed to check in first, but the security guard said the area was for police 😂. The security staff at the lobby could also have been more welcoming and friendly. During breakfast at Called Coffee Café, I found it quite funny that they didn’t have latte available. 😂 On the positive side, the location is very convenient, with plenty of places to eat nearby and easy access to Parkson and Imperial Mall. The breakfast selection was otherwise awesome, and the room itself was very spacious. Overall, the hotel has a great location and lots of potential, but there are some areas that could be improved, especially cleanliness, parking arrangements and customer service.

Just arrived at the hotel and was informed that there was ongoing water pipe repair work outside, which caused a temporary water disruption during the daytime. We couldn’t shower or wash our hands for a while, which was quite inconvenient. Thankfully, the water supply returned to normal again in the evening. Front desk staff were still very polite and helpful throughout the situation. We booked the Deluxe Single Room, and the king-sized bed was very comfortable and spacious, enough for us two adults and our 2yo child, with plenty of extra space. However, the bed felt slightly damp when we first arrived, but it became better later at night. The hotel also has a family pool and direct beach access, which makes it a great place for families with kids to relax and unwind. The buffet breakfast menu was also quite rich with plenty of choices.

The room facilities were okay, but the ac definitely needs improvement. When we checked into the room, the fan was already on. After switching the fan off, we noticed that the air conditioner was not cooling the room properly and it felt quite warm. We ended up sleeping with only the fan running throughout the night, which was disappointing as we did not expect such an experience. 😓 We checked the air conditioner ourselves and confirmed that it was switched on and set to the correct temperature. We also noticed that the lobby air conditioning was extremely cold, so there seemed to be a significant difference compared to our room. We reported the issue to the front desk, but were informed that the room air conditioner was functioning well. Unfortunately, this was not our experience, and it affected our overall comfort during the stay.

Excellent stay! The room was very clean, comfortable and well maintained. The location was perfect and convenient, with easy access to nearby places. The staff were friendly, helpful and provided great service throughout our stay. Facilities and amenities were also excellent. Overall, we had a very pleasant experience and would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!

The room was spacious and comfortable, with plenty of space to move around. The breakfast was also great, with a good variety of food and everything tasted delicious. Overall, we had a pleasant and enjoyable stay. Would definitely consider staying here again!

Overall is still consider OK. Actually the environment is quite good. Just that some equipment and room facilities, if can upgrade and furnish some will be better. The beach & pool has no safe guard on duty, it will be more safety if got someone to guard and patrol around.

Please upgrade LEVEL 5 corridor lights. Its so uncomfortable for travellers who arrives at night or midnighT especially women Level 5 corridor lights was so dimmed, No music and no AC it was warm, DARK like a ******* hotel and spooky. Elevator opened i can feel the creepy vibes. Requested for lower level and nearby elevator, but i was given on level 5 and the 2nd last room. I'm sorry I wont come back.

It was a beautiful experience. Our stay in Pullman Kuching is fun. The room is so comfortable and clean. We were surprised because my requests were granted and we were able to celebrate a late birthday celebration for my cousin. Also, the city view from our room is so beautiful and we can see the sunrise. We highly recommend this hotel.
