its very beautiful traditional building from the outside. but the interior is modern. its in the center, easy to access to crowded and animated places. At nightime, the place shine beautifullly, a picture snapshot spot. The room is spaciouse, otherwise it is quiet expensive.

We had an amazing stay at Sunyata Datong. The hotel beautifully blends traditional Chinese architecture with modern elegance, offering a serene and spotless environment that feels both authentic and refined. The hospitality was exceptional — every staff member was polite, attentive, and genuinely caring. Their attention to detail made the experience truly memorable, from the thoughtful room touches to the warm service at every interaction. The team went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The breakfast was another highlight, with a wonderful selection of freshly prepared dishes that were both delicious and beautifully presented. A perfect blend of culture, comfort, and heartfelt service — Sunyata Datong is truly a gem and highly recommended for anyone visiting Datong

This hotel is amazing! Always so happy to come back to this beautiful space at the end of the day. Datong ancient town is not big and is easy to get around from Onetwo Hotel. Front desk is always so helpful to offer us assistance and check in with us on our needs. Not forgetting, their breakfast is an absolute winner! (If i have to nitpick, i would have preferred if we had fresh towel instead of one-use towels.) Nonetheless, would recommend this place to anyone coming to Datong. 👍👍👍

Unfortunately, the overall stay was not great. When we booked the hotel, we specifically requested a non-smoking room, which is essential for us because of health issues. After double confirming with the hotel that they have non-smoking rooms (based on the website, all rooms are non smoking), we paid for our booking. However, shortly after, they informed us that smoking in hotel rooms is common and unavoidable in Taiyuan. We felt deceived into making the payment and realized we were stuck with this accommodation for our 7-day stay. Upon checking in, we had to request a room change due to a strong smoke smell in the original room. The second room was better and the hotel staff was nice enough to provide an air purifier. Throughout our entire stay, people were smoking in the elevator, lobby, and even at the dinner table. If we had known this beforehand, we would have reconsidered staying here. For a 5-star hotel, it did not meet our expectations, and unfortunately, we paid far too much for this experience. The only highlight of our stay was the hotel staff. They were always friendly, helpful, and did their very best to serve the guests, which made our trip a bit more enjoyable. We thank them for their excellent service.

Location: near LinFenXi High Speed Rail Station 临汾西站(10mins drive/ 20mins by local public transport to LuoGuQiaoTou 锣鼓桥头站). Best is that they provide pick-up and drop-off at HSR station, just make a call 3 hours in advance. I dont have local number, so I email them in advance before my trip, they replied my email and provide me their WeChat number so I can make reservation for the pick-up service at the station. Many local tours have pick-up and drop-off service near the hotel (junction outside the hotel), easy and convenient. Services: warm and welcoming services. Tea and drinks in the lobby, luggage storage as well. Room: clean big room, big screen TV, mini bar fridge, bathrobe and comfy king bed. Lavender shower shampoo, hand soap and body lotion, make me feel so so much relax. Laundry: laundry machine are free of charge (washer and dryer). Laundry room provide ironing equipment, books, drink as well. Definitely not get bored. Otherwise, can use phone connect their website to make a reminder while the laundry have done (so convenient). Gym Room: just opposite and same level of laundry room. Treadmill are so new. Breakfast: varieties of choice. Before that I already crave for coffee since it is not so common to find espresso in the local breakfast restaurant. Salad bar, local meatball soup, noodles, dumplings, wantons, boiled egg, fried egg, fried tomato with egg and local cooked food. So many choice and so satisfying. However they dont have egg omelette, it is fine for me. I found that even though not staying at LinFen city centre, it is still fine to stay here as the traffic here is convenient. And here is more quiet and more relax👍 The only thing I dont like is, some customer smoking in the lift and hotel lobby (even though there is a sign in the lift to advice not to smoke), definitely affecting those unlike smoking smell and sick of cigarette smell like me.

Eu queria me hospedar na cidade antiga e, depois de ler muitas avaliações de pousadas, decidi por esta. O nome ”Pipa Old Inn” significa simplesmente que Zhaojun deixou sua pipa lá quando partiu para a fronteira (tirei uma foto explicando a história mais tarde). Ao chegar, o proprietário e as funcionárias foram muito prestativos, ajudando com a bagagem e a encontrar estacionamento. Eles foram muito acolhedores. A pousada está localizada no coração da cidade antiga, com a Rua Xijin e a mesquita logo abaixo, e o Templo Huayan a algumas dezenas de metros de distância. Está convenientemente localizada perto de outras atrações. Embora a pousada esteja no coração da cidade antiga, com lojas por toda parte, não havia barulho algum durante a noite. O ambiente interno é fantástico, com muitas exposições, caligrafias e pinturas, livros e outras informações relacionadas à jornada de Zhaojun até a fronteira. Há também uma varanda no segundo andar, perfeita para desfrutar de um chá e da vista noturna quando você não estiver fora. A cama tinha a firmeza ideal e o edredom era muito confortável. Deixe-me discutir objetivamente a única desvantagem. Fiquei em um quarto duplex deluxe, que era bastante espaçoso e tinha até um sofá pequeno. No entanto, o banheiro era um pouco apertado, tornando-o menos adequado para pessoas com um tipo de corpo maior. O chuveiro só tinha um chuveiro de mão, o que foi um pouco inconveniente devido ao tamanho pequeno. Todo o resto foi excelente, e isso não afeta minha avaliação positiva do B&B. Eu me hospedaria aqui novamente se visitasse Datong novamente. É conveniente, o serviço é excelente e eu recomendo muito.

This hotel is very large and clean. The rooms were very spacious. The only thing is that the heat is 'on' even if you lower the temperature to its lowest setting. Thankfully there was a window to open even though it was -6° outside. The buffet was great with lots of selections. The one & only restaurant for dinner was great. Their large Asian menu provided pictures of all the dishes. The staff in the restaurant was very friendly & helpful. The pool was nice and clean. There was even a lifeguard on duty. The hot tubs were separate in the men's & ladies' change rooms. The only issue was that the front desk staff was very limited with English and there were no concierge services. Other than that we enjoyed our stay at this hotel.

The hotel has complete and convenient facilities, the rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows offer great views, and the rooms are clean and hygienic. The staff are warm and attentive, and check-in and check-out are efficient. Highly recommended!

What a pleasant surprise this stay was! (´▽`) The location is excellent, right next to the district government and very close to the ancient city, making it super convenient for getting around. There's a delicious knife-cut noodle place nearby that opens at 6:30 AM, and the Tangjiu convenience store next door also opens early. The first floor has a lovely book bar where you can borrow books for free, and they serve coffee and cocktails – perfect for enjoying a drink while reading. So many interesting books too! I also really loved their decor; the tatami mat rooms have a dedicated reading table, and the mattress was incredibly comfortable. The disposable amenities were comprehensive, and that horse oil toiletries set left me feeling moisturized inside and out (in a good way!). What really stood out during my stay were the front desk ladies. They were all so wonderful, always greeting us warmly when we returned. Their service was incredibly attentive and so heartwarming! 🥺 Any request we had was met quickly. Thanks to them, I've been sleeping so well these past few days 555. I really don't want to leave! I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Datong. I've already highly recommended it to all my friends! (￣∇￣)

Great location and they were all super nice. However the room was super hot and there is no AC. When we asked they brought up a portable unit but it wasn’t nearly enough to keep the room comfortable. If it’s winter it could be a great spot but definitely look elsewhere in the late spring and summer.
