It was my first time staying here. I saw good reviews online and decided to try it out. It was worth the trip. The service from the front desk sister was very good and enthusiastic. She responded to every request and answered the phone promptly. I have to give her a thumbs up. The room was spacious and bright, the bed was soft and comfortable, and it was very quiet. The fountain at the entrance of the hotel was also a plus!

The location of the hotel I booked this time was excellent. During check-in, the front desk staff, 'Xiao 6,' was incredibly efficient and provided very detailed information about local attractions. Right opposite the hotel, there's a 'Gá Zhāng Wá' BBQ restaurant which tasted delicious. You'll also find malls, supermarkets, and places to buy local specialties conveniently nearby; just a 5 to 10-minute walk straight after turning left from the hotel. The nearest small night market is also only about a 15-minute walk away and is quite bustling.
The room's hygiene was satisfactory; it was quiet and comfortable, and the bedding was clean and tidy. The comfort level was decent. Breakfast offered a wide variety of options in a buffet style, allowing us to taste local specialties, which were very tasty – though it did get quite crowded. Nevertheless, it was a pleasant experience overall, especially since we were traveling with family. We enjoyed exploring the surrounding area and visiting nearby tourist spots.
The room is well-equipped and warm, and the sanitary conditions are also very good, especially the breakfast in the western restaurant on the first floor, which has many varieties and choices. The children enjoyed the meal very much. The service of the lady at the front desk was particularly warm and polite during check-in and check-out.

We started our final China trip form Ürümqi followed by Turpin and Dunhuang. While our hotels there were reasonable, we felt really comfortable when we stayed at at a Club floor room at Sofitel Xining. Their service was one of the best we have experienced during our seven China trips so far. We enjoyed the comfort and the staff’s dedicated service. Thank you.

I will start off by saying that the room and bathroom were well appointed, the staff were friendly and helpful and breakfast was delicious. However, whilst the room was generally clean, when I dropped something that subsequently rolled under a fitted unit, I was pretty disgusted to see the dust and filth beneath it. It clearly had not been cleaned for…well…ever? I appreciate that these areas will not be as clean as the more visible parts of the room, however for a five star hotel, this is unacceptable. I do not expect to find dirty tissues and a thick layer of dust and dirt anywhere in my hotel room. But by far the absolute worst part of my stay was the inability to control the temperature in the room whatsoever. The room was so swelteringly hot that despite the comfortable bed, and everything to go with it, I was almost unable to sleep at all. I do not expect this in a five star hotel(and have never experienced it other than here and at anther Wanda hotel in Hohhot), I pay for luxury; controlling the room temperature is a basic requirement that I can even do in a 50 yuan a night hostel dorm. When I asked the staff at reception the following morning I was told the AC wouldn’t be available until after April 15th because ‘it’s cold outside’. Firstly, I am not sleeping outside, I am sleeping inside, on the 22nd floor, where it is anything but cold. Not to mention it was April, not January, even in Xining it is not that cold. Secondly, as a paying guest, in a five star hotel, it should be up to me to decide if it is hot or cold, not the hotel. For this reason, as lovely as the room, staff and breakfast may have been, I would not stay here again. I checked out and moved to the lower rated Hilton, where I could control the room temperature and actually managed to sleep…generally what the whole point of a hotel is.

This stay truly understands families with children! The hotel's location is absolutely perfect, right in the city center. Shopping and dining are right at your doorstep, so there's no need to waste time traveling. The room has a full cartoon theme, with adorable cartoon stickers on the walls and even animal-shaped throw pillows. My child was so excited they started jumping as soon as we entered the room, no need to even try to entertain them.
The most pleasant surprise was the window view. Opening the window, you can see the bustling city center streetscape. During the day, you watch the traffic flow, and at night, the city lights sparkle. Every photo taken is beautiful. Plus, we were given fresh welcome fruits upon check-in, along with authentic Qinghai yogurt – sour, sweet, and refreshing. The attention to detail is just incredible. Staying here with kids is totally worth it!

I checked in late at night, and it was truly freezing in Qinghai. The moment I got to the front desk, they immediately offered me a cup of hot water, which warmed my heart. So nice! This hotel really pays attention to the small, thoughtful details. Great!
I'm quite picky about accommodations, but I stayed here for two consecutive nights. I arrived late last night, and the lobby staff helped me with parking. The receptionist was very patient, recommending delicious food and always had a sweet smile. Today, they even upgraded my room for free for my extended stay. The service was excellent, the place was clean and tidy, the breakfast was delicious, and the view from the window was fantastic. It was truly amazing! 👍🏻
I arrived late that night, turned over 12 o'clock, turned around the door for two laps and couldn't find the location to park. The next day I passed by and found that there were still a lot of parking spaces at the door at 10 o'clock. I don't know if the surrounding residents stopped at night. Need to communicate in advance.
The overall decoration of the room is relatively modern, with dry and wet separation, that is, the facilities are relatively scrawled, the faucet is installed in reverse, the heating I think is the portable type of hot air that is turned on, it is too late and I didn’t ask what the situation was. There is no heating cover in March. The quilt is still a bit cold.

Excellent location. Worth the price. Varied breakfast options. Recommended for families. Parking underground option little inconvenient and parking fees for hotel stay is expensive and shocking. Otherwise room is spacious enough and clean. Staff were helpful and check in and out process was quick and seamless.

Tthe_wanderlust_jellyWas told I am given a free room upgrade, but honestly I can't tell the difference. Also the room in the listing image was larger and brighter but the actual room I received was extremely rather grim looking, not to mention it doesn't even look like half the room size in the listing image. I also can't seem to adjust the aircon temp as it will remain at room temperature no matter what I set, however xining is quite cooling in general so it's still acceptable. In the room I was give, the glass panel at the washroom side had a severely cracked side which seem like it will break if I had closed the glass door too hard. I took a video immediately before using the toilet in case it really does get shattered, but luckily it did not Very unsafe nevertheless. The shower was the worst, every night I had to gamble if it will be cold or scalding hot water. I set the shower value slightly towards the warm side, and the water became scalding hot within seocnds, and if I move it to the cold side, it became freezing cold within seconds. Even if I set it exactly in the middle, it will give me either one of the extreme temperature. Had to keep adjusting from hot to cold so that it stay at a comfortable and safe temp range. The toilet bowl flush in a very stupid manner too, by first flooding the bowl from bottom up, this means that if you took a dump and it's a slightly sticky one, it's gonna stick. The electric kettle was so noisy when turned on that it sound like a train passing right beside my room. And speaking of noise, the sound proofing of the room was one of the worst of every single hotel I stayed in before. You can literally hear new occupants dragging their luggage or family chattering non stop right after they exit the lift. FYI, my room was literally the furthest away. Every time your neighbors from 3 room away turn on their tap water, you can hear it, even if that's like 4am in the night. The hairdryer is a safety hazard too. Tried to use it once and after plugging in and turning it on, smoke immediately came oozing out of it, so I immediately switched it off and remove the plug. Never used it since. Oh yes one last thing I have to say is that as a hotel PLEASE NEVER USE MOVEMENT OR VOICE CONTROLLED LIGHTINGS. While I wash up every day, I had to keep waving my hands like an ***** every few minutes in order to prevent the lights from going out. The detection is sooooo off that unless there's a huge action at the correct spot, it will not turn the lights back. This was absolutely annoyance.
However the things I mentioned above are although not welcomed, but can be tolerated.
Personally, the only thing I really love about this was the free tea. And that is also a highly recommended must try. I believe that's ******* black tea which is also a local specialty. I regret not trying earlier because at the latter of my trip, I no longer pass by stores that sells ******* black tea. Recommendation to the hotel is include a way to buy some of this tea.
Overall, I will only recommend the hotel to someone who do not have any other choice or have a lower budget in mind.
GGuest UserIt was past eight in the evening when we arrived at the hotel. The front desk was full of travelers checking in. These two days are the peak tourist season in Xining, and the hotel business is also very good. The girl at the front desk checked us in very quickly and gave us free breakfast, which was very good. The hotel is on a high floor, so it was very quiet to sleep at night without any noise. There was also a small fan in the room, with complete facilities, a good environment, and clean hygiene. I wanted to do laundry, but I didn't bring any laundry detergent in the middle of the night, so I called the front desk and the girl at the front desk poured me some of her own. Thank you very much. There were also many people eating breakfast, and there were many breakfast options. It is worth recommending

KKarina_kkThe location is near the train station. If you drive a car, you can park it downstairs, but it’s really hard to find the parking entrance. We did not manage to find it. The hotel service was nice, and they took us to the parking lot later to show us where it is. Otherwise, it’s easy to locate the hotel from outside. The room was clean and spacious. The wifi was not working, and the person who could fix it was not there since it was late. Therefore, we connected to the other room’s WiFi but the connection was not good. The bed was a bit short for a tall person.

MM413308****Service: The service was genuinely warm and thoughtful; I truly couldn't fault anything. The front desk even proactively offered us a complimentary room upgrade.
Cleanliness: The room was immaculately clean, tidy, and had no unpleasant odors.
Facilities: I was impressed by the wet/dry separation in the bathroom. The washbasin was conveniently located right by the entrance, and to my pleasant surprise, hand soap was provided – a very practical touch. The shower and toilet being separate was also a fantastic design choice! The only issue was that the room felt quite stuffy and warm. We visited Xining at the end of July, and the room caught a lot of sun in the afternoon. The heat seemed to linger even into the night, and despite opening the windows, it remained warm. On the bright side, our laundry dried incredibly quickly!
Location: The hotel's location is convenient. There's a convenience store immediately to the left of the entrance, perfect for grabbing supplies. Getting to the hotel from the airport was easy: take the shuttle bus to the train station (approx. 35 minutes), which drops you off near a bus stop. From there, take bus 106 for two stops, and you'll spot the hotel sign right across the street.

GGuest UserI picked this hotel based on online recommendations.
Facilities: Decent, and fairly comprehensive. However, the bathroom amenities were a bit basic – only a toothbrush and toothpaste were provided. There was no comb, shower cap, or disposable toilet seat cover. While I don't particularly mind the absence of a comb, I do think a shower cap and toilet seat cover are essential items that should be supplied.
Cleanliness: Generally quite clean. Though I did notice some hair/dust when wiping surfaces with a wet wipe, it was acceptable overall.
Location: Excellent, right next to the train station. Xining Station is less than a 10-minute walk away, which is incredibly convenient. It's surprisingly quiet despite being in a busy area, thanks to being on a high floor. I can only imagine how noisy the lower floors of the adjacent Quanji Hotel would be.
Service: Acceptable. The laundry room setup could be improved; I'd suggest adding another dryer.
Although there's no air conditioning, a small electric fan was provided, which was perfectly fine. They also have a humidifier. What's more, the room was incredibly spacious, and the generous 1.35m wide bed was a definite plus! The bedding quality was excellent, ensuring a very comfortable sleep. Free TV was also a welcome bonus. Breakfast was decent, and the yogurt was especially delicious.
HHenrionDourcyThis is honestly the best deal in town. I have been coming to Xining for 10 years, stayed in different hotels each time. This is for sure my favourite one and the best deal in this range of prices.
First, the location. Right in the city centre, with a lot of taxis coming by (this can be an issue for hotels in other locations, where taxis are more rare). It is super convenient and one can reach any part of town efficiently and quickly. There are many buses that go from here to anywhere in town.
Second, the quality of the room, of the bed (super super cosy and comfortable, which is really nice after travelling roughly for two weeks in the nearby countryside), the cleanliness of the room and bathroom. Very good hygiene products, not cheap toothpaste and soap like in other hotels.
Third, and most importantly, the quality and warmth of the service. At the reception, the employees are very friendly and understanding, very warm-hearted, You feel really welcome in this hotel. They have helped me in several ways. especially Mrs Jane and Mrs Sunny Bai: fantastic people! They also speak English! Makes the whole stay memorable, enjoyable, relaxing.
I will surely come back here next time. This is an upper-tier hotel made available with affordable prices.
Thank you!

GGuest UserI chose Park Plaza as it was convenient to both the train station and airport.
The price was also excellent value for money.
My train from Lhasa arrived at 6.30am and I caught a taxi the short distance to Park Plaza without issue.
I checked in around 7am and was shown my room.
It was beautiful, very spacious with a large window,
and it also had a freestanding bath.
Unfortunately I could smell cigarette smoke, which is not uncommon in Chinese hotels.
I asked for a different room and was immediately shown one .
This room was identical but the bed covers were a children's design and there were some toys and teepee in one corner . I simply folded the bright yellow covers down and had a lovely tasteful decor again.
The bed was extremely comfy and the room was very quiet.
The buffet was beyond excellent and the head chef and his small team were very friendly and attentive.
Clearly they were very proud of their fabulous buffet and presentation....as they should be. It was my best in China..
I found a lovely walking trail behind the hotel beside the river, 5 mins away.
The area in general was nice to wander around, very different from my stay in the centre of city when on my way to Tibet.
I will most definitely choose Park Plaza when I return to Xining.
