**Good Value for Money, Spacious Room & Helpful Staff — But Consider the Walking Distance** I stayed at Hayat Al Madinah Hotel for 4 nights (1–5 October 2026) during my solo DIY Umrah trip. Overall, the hotel offers good value for money. My room was spacious, clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Communication in English was sometimes challenging, but Google Translate worked well. The hotel provides a complimentary scheduled shuttle service to the Masjid Nabawi area, which is very helpful. **However, there is one important thing future guests should know.** Due to ongoing construction and road closures around the hotel, walking directly to Masjid Nabawi is currently impractical. Even when using the shuttle, I still had to walk approximately 1.2–1.5 km between the drop-off/pick-up point and the mosque. Therefore, while I found the hotel suitable for my solo trip, it may not be the best choice for elderly pilgrims, wheelchair users or guests with limited mobility. **My verdict:** Recommended for budget-conscious travellers who are comfortable walking longer distances and using the hotel's shuttle. If proximity and easy access to Masjid Nabawi are your priorities, consider other options. The main issue was the attitude of the reception staff during check-in. I arrived at 3:45 PM, only 15 minutes before check-in, but was told to wait. When I politely asked how long, the staff member responded rudely and told me he would let me know. I ended up waiting around 20 minutes before going to pray. When I returned, the same staff member was free, so I approached him, but he told me to wait for another staff member who was busy with another guest, even though he was free and had already seen my booking. Eventually, I had to wait again before being checked in. Overall, the attitude and customer service were not professional or welcoming.

Visiting AlUla during the off-season offers incredible value for money. Let's start with the weather, which is often a major concern. In July, temperatures range from 24-42 degrees Celsius. Mornings and evenings are surprisingly cool, especially when compared to Riyadh's 35-46 degrees during the same period. It's completely feasible to explore by avoiding the midday heat. Hotel prices in July are incredibly attractive, and there are very few tourists, mostly Arabs. Because there are so few people, the service is exceptionally quick. Shuttles arrive within 5-10 minutes. Only one of the three restaurants was open, offering both Arabic and Thai cuisine. While the Michelin-level prices aren't cheap, the food and service are excellent. The breakfast, in particular, is worth mentioning. It's à la carte, and the quality is superb. You could order the entire menu twice over! What's more, they even asked if I wanted a takeaway when I left. On the first day, I took away bread and fruit, and on the second, bread and Coke. A can of Coke costs 30 SAR in the room, and they packed me three cans along with a complimentary bottle of water! Since I didn't rent a car, I didn't visit any surrounding attractions, but the hotel grounds themselves are beautiful. In the evenings, you can enjoy a bonfire and stargaze. There's even a stargazing activity where a Kenyan guide shows you the moon through a telescope and helps you locate the Big Dipper to orient yourself. All the hotel staff are incredibly nice. They clean the room in the morning and then come back in the evening to prepare it for bedtime, which is a very thoughtful touch. Check-out was instant as I had no extra charges. I used the hotel's car service to the airport, and while it was twice the price of a taxi, the service was truly excellent. All in all, it was a fantastic experience, and I'm extremely satisfied!

We had a very comfortable and pleasant stay at the hotel. Its biggest advantage is its close proximity to Masjid al-Haram. You can reach it in just a few minutes on foot, which is especially convenient for Umrah pilgrims. The rooms are spacious, clean, and equipped with modern furnishings. The beds are very comfortable, and the air conditioning system works perfectly. There's quality daily cleaning service. The view from the window is also very beautiful. Breakfast is rich and delicious, with a variety of national and international dishes available. The staff are very polite, prompt, and always ready to help. The check-in and check-out process was quick and smooth. This hotel is very suitable for both family trips and guests coming for pilgrimage. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit. My stay was average overall. The hotel benefits from an excellent location and the convenience of free parking, which made getting around very easy. I would also like to commend the staff for their helpful attitude and good service. Whenever issues were raised, they responded promptly and did their best to address them. That said, the property would benefit from som9e renovation and maintenance. The room furnishings appeared dated, the mattress was no longer very comfortable, some of the lighting fixtures were not working, and the cable TV signal was inconsistent. The bathroom drainage could also be improved, as water tended to remain on the floor after use. While the hotel offers good value in terms of location and service, updating the rooms and facilities would greatly enhance the guest experience. I would be happy to stay here again if renovations are carried out in the future.

I payed for a 2 room signature suite. The rooms were very small. Not enough sockets, could only open the the fridge a fraction as the bed was in the way. The safe didn’t work properly either.

The hotel was perfectly located near the Masjid al Nabawi and restaurants and shops. The staff were helpful and accommodate my request for early check in. Highly recommend the hotel.

I was given a room overlooking a construction site, despite specifically asking for a quiet room at reception. I requested a change, and that's when things got complicated! They kept moving me to different floors, but never away from the infamous construction. This happened 3 or 4 times, and each time I had to navigate crowded elevators that stopped on many floors, all while lugging my suitcases. Eventually, I asked the duty manager to resolve the issue and, if possible, give me a room on a lower floor to avoid the elevator stress – it was the least they could do after all that. He asked me to wait. I was practically in tears, exhausted from a long overnight flight; all I wanted was my room so I could rest. Then, he gave me a room on the highest floor of the hotel. It didn't face the construction, but it was a connecting room with families who gathered there day and night, talking loudly, and he told me that I had paid for a room, and that was that. His behavior was neither professional nor friendly, but rather malicious and sly. I strongly advise against staying here.

I recently stayed at Madinah Hilton as a solo traveler, and it was a wonderful experience. The hotel’s location is exceptional—just a short walk from Al-Masjid an-Nabawi, making it very convenient for prayers at any time. The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The staff were courteous, professional, and always willing to help, making me feel welcome throughout my stay. The breakfast offered a good variety of delicious options, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel was peaceful and relaxing. I felt safe and comfortable staying alone, and the excellent service made my visit even more memorable.
