Great accommodation. Comfortable beds with multiple shared bathrooms so no long wait — good facilities. Hospitality and service was good, owners were nice and friendly. Recommend if planning on a stay.

First accommodation with unlocked sky tv which is pretty useful for rainy days! Large and clean room, friendly stuff giving also some recommendations around the hotel.

The positive first. It was a really good location and the rooms were clean. But. We did book two rooms with double beds and sea view. We also payed for it. But we didn’t get what we paid for. We got one double bed room and one room with a double bed and a single bed ( the single bed was really tiny btw). We went to the reception to ask because we were confused. And the service wasn’t good at all. The woman at the reception told us that they don’t have two rooms that kind. And we ask why they offer something like that. She couldn’t tell us. She told us she could get us a downgrade to a family room. But that’s all she could do. And then she just laughed at us. We think it’s really rude. The breakfast is not good at all. There is toast, some fruits, pancakes and oatmeal. Could be better. After we checked out we just went outside and I saw on my account that the hotel charged my credit card with 100€. So I went back inside. And the man looked it up and told me ups was a mistake and he returned the money. I just found that really odd.

The facilities were fine. The double room we reserved came with only that.. a double bed. Not even a nightstand next to the bed or a table in the room. There was also no heater or fan and the room felt musty with a bit of moisture in the air. Could use a dehumidifier when it's raining out like it was this day/night. The other guests in the hotel were the problem. I was woken up at 4AM by someone upstairs in the smoking area chatting so loudly on their phone... I had to get out of my bed in the middle of the night and ask them to go somewhere else or end their call. It was absurd. In the middle of the night someone cooked a very fragrant meal that made the entire building smell - it was so intense that it even permeated into  our room which was the furthest room away from the kitchen... not a great stay when you can't even sleep through the night and feel like you are sitting in the middle of someone's meal.. Not worth the price

O carro, Campo de campismo + Motel, o Campo é particularmente Grande, especialmente o Campo, deve ser dito Como o maior que já VI Na Nova Zelândia.O Chefe é chinês, conduz UMA Grande merda, ou é Muito mau. A cozinha do quarto de UMA Casa é grande, UMA mesa de quartos, UMA mesa de quartos, UMA Casa de camas limpas, UMA Casa de banho limpa, UMA Casa de cozinha completa, instalações novas e boas.A cozinha pública, UMA casa de banho, UMA guarda-chuva e UMA banheira são amplas.Ao Lado é o Rio pequeno, o Ambiente é bom. Em comparação com o Mesmo Tipo de acampamento, a área é Grande (todos OS três são públicos), escolhendo Mais e Melhor preço.No acampamento, um círculo FOI girado e alguns carros de Casa foram adicionados, e há vegetação Na Frente, obviamente, o ritmo Da Guerra duradoura. Ouça o Chefe, algumas pessoas vivem aqui há SEIS anos.A insuficiência é perto Da Estrada 1, que Pode ouvir o ruído do carro.

Excellent accommodation, very clean. Staff very helpful and friendly.

The hotel is located in the downtown area of Blenheim, the capital of Marlborough Province, the famous white wine producing region of New Zealand. It is within 10 minutes walking distance from Blenheim railway station, bus station or downtown square. There are plenty of parking spaces in the hotel square, which is very convenient for walking and driving. The hotel rooms have a wide view and beautiful scenery. Although the rooms are a bit old, all the facilities and bedding are very tidy, clean and comfortable. All the staff are smiling, patient and enthusiastic. The hotel offers three meals a day, the menu is not extensive, but the food quality and taste are excellent. We stayed for two days. The experience was excellent and the price/performance ratio was very high. Going to a hotel not to be missed in Blenheim, highly recommended!

The place is not far from the town centre, just around 20 mins walk. The reception is nice and welcoming. The room is spacious. It can be a bit cold at night but the heater works well. The room’s sound proof isn’t very great. I can hear people next door close and open their room door. The kitchen area is supposed to open at 7am, but it was not when I left at around 7:30am, so it’s worth double checking the time with the reception.

We stayed at Portage Hotel as a family with three children and chose it as one of the final stops of our four-week road trip. It turned out to be one of the absolute highlights of our journey. We were genuinely impressed by the location, the service, and the overall facilities. The setting is simply stunning, peaceful and scenic, yet the hotel offers a wide range of activities, which made it perfect for traveling with kids. Despite being high season, the staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and truly customer-oriented. You never felt rushed or overlooked, which is not always a given during busy holiday periods. We especially appreciated that many activities are included at no extra cost, such as canoes and stand-up paddleboards. There is also a pool, which was a big plus for the children after long days of exploring. The rooms are well equipped and thoughtfully designed. A small but lovely detail was the beautifully scented selection of shampoos and creams provided in the room, which added a very pleasant touch to the stay. The value for money feels absolutely justified. The food was good, the drink selection more than sufficient, and the wine list offered something for everyone. All in all, a fantastic place for families and travelers looking for comfort, nature, and genuine hospitality. We would happily return and can highly recommend the Portage Hotel.
