Hotel is conveniently located near Manchester airport, but if you are checking in late, traveling with a couple of suitcases, you may want to read on. We called the hotel from Brussels airport to get a basic sense of where to expect the hotel shuttle for pick up; we were told by the reception staff / operator, that one has to make the reservation online and the last pickup was at 10:00. We asked if she could make the reservation since I was already on the phone with her, but she explained it was an outsourced party and we had to do it. Our flight had a scheduled arrival at 09:30, so decided to make the shuttle booking. It was not easy to find a link on their website. Called them again to ask them where I could make the online reservation and was told one just has to cut across the street and the hotel was right there. Which we did. Luckily we had a small carryon with wheels each and it was not raining at that time, although the roads were wet from a recent rain shower. Hotel was functional. Clean/nice. IF you are arriving late, with the elderly or with a couple of large suitcases, please keep this in mind. Also call to understand the hours of operation for the shuttle service. It’s England, so having an umbrella handy is always useful. (As of mid March 2023).

Booked this hotel as there was a train strike the day of my flight. Also it's right next to the airport and slightly cheaper than Radissons inside the airport. However, there were no signs from the train station for the hotel. I ended walking around roundabouts I'm not supposed to be on! Turned out I should have walked inside the airport to get out nearer the hotel. Bit of a queue at check in, but ok otherwise. Room was comfy, with a settee. The coffee cups seem to leak- both of them! Would appear to be the material the cups were made of. Big soft towels were a delight. Separate bottles on the wall for shower gel, shampoo, conditioner. Good shower, options of normal and rain shower in a big shower area. Check out was easy, I didn't pay for breakfast. I did a short run in the morning around the hotel car park! Needs must... Overall, I would recommend it, as long as you know how to walk to the hotel from the airport safely! I would recommend the hotel liaise with the airport about signage. If there were signs and I missed it, then they need to be prominent, including detailed directions on the website.

I just HAD to write a review on my stay here. Well... this was my 3rd hotel in 4 nights of travelling. It was also the cheapest one, and the only one I was kind of dreading! Oh how wrong could I have been! From the moment I entered, the receptionist was so friendly and helpful. Welcoming, kind and professional. I asked if there was any fridge I could use to store some food items I was travelling with and they kindly put these in the staff area for me overnight. Could not do enough to help. The hotel feels more like a modern new hostel than a hotel. The vibe in the communal area felt very much like a classy hostel. It was warm, friendly and welcoming. Free unlimited tea and coffee down there was great. Breakfast was only continental, which I hadn't realised. Lovely pastries, but a shame no hot food was served. Rooms are very small, as I had expected, but functional, Plenty of charging sockets, good hot shower with amenities. As I arrived into the station at terminal 1, and was flying from terminal 1 the next day it is quite a walk with heavy bags. There is no shuttle bus or alternative way to get to terminal 1 from here, only the skylink. This would have been fine, but the moving escalators on the skylink were switched off. When I asked the hotel staff about this, they said they have not been working for months. I don't know why this is, but it would have made moving to/from the hotel a lot easier so it was a shame. Overall a very good and unexpected stay. For the price, I would stay again. Thanks to all the staff for such a pleasant welcome.

Unfortunately the lift was out of order (not advertised until arrival), so my pregnant wife was stuck having to use the stairs. Not great, but not world-ending, we didn't expect this to be an issue so hadn't specified on the booking that one of us was pregnant. Once we got to the room we were instantly hit by a wall of heat (this was early February, looking back at the weather for that day the high was 13C, low 5C) - the heating controller was reading almost 30C, and had a nice label on it to inform you that it could not cool down the room. Someone had left a radiator on full blast which wasn't controlled by the heating controls. There is no air-con available at this hotel, and the windows open perhaps 2 inches if being generous. There was no way to cool this room to an appropriate temperature for sleeping in the time available to us. There's also no phone in the room, so we had to lug our bags back to front desk to request a habitable room. To paraphrase the conversation; 'tough potatoes, the hotel is fully booked, I can't or won't do anything to help, here's a business card with some details if you want to complain online. Good night guarantee? That doesn't exist post-covid.' Luckily I managed to find a nicer (albeit pricier) hotel across the road with last minute availability, so we went over to Oddfellows for an actual good night's sleep and some hospitality. As Premier Inn took our money up-front and then failed to fulfill their end of the bargain, we've been pursuing a refund - their marketing would make you believe this is easy. However, they argue that as the hotel does not have air conditioning, they are not at fault - despite it being their heating which caused the issue, and their choice to limit your ability to cool the room. So we're having to go through the credit card company for a chargeback. Other than all of the above - it's a standard premier inn room in a tired building. You hope you know what you're getting if you go for it.

Hotel is conveniently located near Manchester airport, but if you are checking in late, traveling with a couple of suitcases, you may want to read on. We called the hotel from Brussels airport to get a basic sense of where to expect the hotel shuttle for pick up; we were told by the reception staff / operator, that one has to make the reservation online and the last pickup was at 10:00. We asked if she could make the reservation since I was already on the phone with her, but she explained it was an outsourced party and we had to do it. Our flight had a scheduled arrival at 09:30, so decided to make the shuttle booking. It was not easy to find a link on their website. Called them again to ask them where I could make the online reservation and was told one just has to cut across the street and the hotel was right there. Which we did. Luckily we had a small carryon with wheels each and it was not raining at that time, although the roads were wet from a recent rain shower. Hotel was functional. Clean/nice. IF you are arriving late, with the elderly or with a couple of large suitcases, please keep this in mind. Also call to understand the hours of operation for the shuttle service. It’s England, so having an umbrella handy is always useful. (As of mid March 2023).

We only paid £42 for our room as we wanted to be close to the airport …. Used Twilight check in so checked our cases in today and fly in the morning. Room absolutely fine, bar area nice, prices bloody great for a hotel in Manchester especially if you get here for happy hour between 5pm and 7pm … I think it’s Sunday to Thurs. The reason I am writing this review is because of a friendly, very helpful black chap named Michael, he’s awesome! I offered to buy him a drink as we were leaving as I had no cash … he said he couldn’t …. I was gutted, he deserved it!!

I’m literally sat typing this at 3:03am because I can’t get any sleep. - When I arrived, the 2 members of staff working at reception were arguing with each other and the girl who served me was in a foul mood (unprofessional) - The bed is uncomfortable - Charged £7 to use wifi for one night stay (most hotels offer it in the package) - There were hairs in the bath from the last person (during covid-19 pandemic) - The soap dispenser in the bath was empty - The hotel seems to be used as a hostel for some people to live in and as it’s after 3am, I can still hear people with the TV on in their room loud. - People chatting outside whilst smoking. It means when I open the window, I smell the smoke and risk setting the fire alarm off. I didn’t realise it was a Britannia hotel. I’ve had shocking experiences in these hotels before but until you get here, you don’t realise as the name isn’t obvious on the booking. If I’d known I’d have avoided it.

An ok stay, although prepare for the pictures not to match reality. The outside of the building has seen better days, I wanted to get a broom and sweep up all the mess. The room was clean but very tired and dated. The bathroom had been modernised and was spotless.

Yes it’s a premier inn and you get everything you expect, good beds, clean rooms but the staff here are exceptional. I stayed as my husband was in a nearby hospital. Unfortunately I couldn’t pre-book my whole stay because of the lateness of my booking, however when I explained my situation to the staff they went above and beyond to help me rebook on a cancellation. Biggest thanks to both Drew and James who were so helpful.

I booked a standard double room for myself and my husband as we were attending an evening party nearby and didn't want to drive home afterwards. The location was perfect for this. The room was a generous size, very well equipped and the bed was very comfortable. We had a couple of issues with the bathroom that didn't affect the quality of our stay. When we reported these to staff in the morning we were assured that they would be rectified. We only spoke to 2 members of staff to check in and out, both were very pleasant and helpful. We didn't eat in the restaurant.

If you are pre holiday and need a room the night before, seriously do not hesitate to stay here the reception staff are lovely and helpful thenroomn is spotless and the bed is soooo comfy ..we have just had a meal in the beefeater and it's one of the best ever we have had in a pub. compliments to the chef ..also the barman is so friendly and professional you can pay the price to stay on site at the airport for trebble what you would pay to stay here..Don't hesitate to give this place a try you won't be disappointed..
