Motel 6 Wheat Ridge, CO - West - Denver North

Wheat Ridge|3.37km from city center
I travel with two kids and a dog so Motel 6 is a standby for me. Some are better than others. This one is TERRIBLE. We got our room then realized there were lots of sketchy people hanging around outside. A woman wandered over and asked MY SON for cigarettes. Then I saw what I can only presume to be **********s coming in - women in scanty skin tight dresses. I went to the office, they were inside, having long conversations with the desk clerk and were clearly well known. I do not judge these women - many are trafficked many just choose this lifestyle. I don’t want them parading around in front of my kids. Why isn’t Motel 6 doing more to stop trafficking of women and minors on their properties??? I go back to my room. It’s late. I’m tired. The door locks. I think we will be fine and just find a new place the next day. But oh no. This location is the gift that keeps giving. The bedding was grungy and stained. We are in a pandemic and the website says they are taking extra care to clean but the light switches had grime and dirt all over them. They clearly had not been cleaned in years. It’s okay though. I used cleaner I had in the car to spray the room down (with COVID, I planned to sanitize any room regardless of where we stayed. I brought our own linens for the same reason and put them on top of the beds and again thought, it’s late, I’m tired. It will be okay. Then we realized the sink will not drain at all. By then it was 10pm. We had unloaded the car. I wanted to sleep. By midnight people were pounding on our door and scared me awake. Ignored it. Went back to sleep. Again at 1am the same thing. I called the front desk. The agent was rude and HUNG UP ON ME. Just do not stay here. This Motel 6 goes on my “sh*ttiest dumps in America” list. Corporate Motel 6 - you are like the McDonald’s of road trips - reliably affordable, family and friendly and usually clean and safe. Stop allowing horrible locations like the one in Wheat Ridge, CO to exist. I only ask for a clean, safe bed so my expectations are “functional.” This place is NOT FUNCTIONAL.

I’ll be fair; it’s not all bad, but here’s my summary up front: Don’t expect typical Holiday Inn Express experience if you choose to stay here, in the cleanliness or the service, you’ll get neither. Good stuff: Breakfast was generally good and is a big perk to staying at HIE. This is really what is saving this particular place in my opinion. Soaps and supplies are pretty good. Dove soaps-nice! -unless you need replenishment. Water pressure is tremendous if you are into that. TV works like it should. AC keeps you nice and cool on hot days. Location right off Interstate. Bad stuff: We stayed 4 nights so know this was not just a “had a bad day,” but consistent things we dealt with. Pool is nasty. NASTY. My son tried it for 5minutes and that was enough. Stuff on the floor of the pool (peeling? Dirty?) ladder out was clearly needing fixed/replaced. Around pool area were gas cans out in the open, and what appeared to be random parts of broken luggage carts. And other stuff. (Side note: why is it so hard to get a HIE with a working, decent pool? Out of many we have used, I can remember 1 that was not being fixed or dilapidated.) Stuff was out there even on day 3 of stay. See pic TP. Who needs a holder? Ours was broken before we arrived. Reported it right away. It’s still broken when we left day 4. So we just dealt with it. And when you’re running low you got to find someone and tell them to get you more. It’s hard to find someone sometimes to do this. Shower curtain had mold growing. Told staff on day 2. Replaced on day 3. Way to go but how about a protocol for prevention? Bathroom door locked but unlocked by wiggling. That’s a little too easy in my opinion. Supplies: I almost went down the street to Target to buy some washcloths. It seemed it was pretty hard to get them. We didn’t have enough towels (including washcloths and hand towels) to start. We would ask for more but it always seemed to be the excuse of “we are washing those” “we don’t have enough” “I only have enough towels for ppl in this other room because they are a ‘stayover’” (I was a stayover too). Sometimes we’d get a pool towel mixed in (because why not? No one’s using the nasty pool!) It was a hodgepodge many times. And we ALWAYS had to ask. We asked to have our room made up 3 total times. Out of those 3, we received the service once. When we get back once after 5:30 and asked about the missed service, they said there was no one to do it, and they ran up towels and took our overflowing trash away. Sketchy surroundings: a lot of homeless ppl around here. A very sketchy motel to the south (makes this HIE look amazing by comparison) is frequented by police, the homeless, and an interesting cross-section of humanity. We had no incidents, but we didn’t ever set out on foot anywhere but to the van, and never late at night. Not the place to just take a walk/jog). Sign frequently put up in lobby “be back soon.”Witnessed several arriving guests over 4 days gree

Motel 6 Denver, CO – Downtown

Denver|3.04km de Motion Massage
I booked a week at the Motel 6 on Federal Boulevard. The room was clean and I got basically everything that I had signed up for. It was awesome that the room was cheap and they didn't require a deposit. It was also great that the location was close to everything one would need. There are tons of places to eat within a block or two and a 24 hour gas station with a store that has anything one would require on the road, If you want a sandwich or a fresh pair of socks at 4 a.m you have to walk 3 minutes to get it. Here is the real thing. On my second to last night I became extremely ill and had to call an ambulance. I was picked up by the ambulance without having the chance to pack any of my stuff up or to clean my room at all, which I normally do before I leave a Hotel. As it turned out my situation was serious and I had to have surgery right away due to a rip in my femoral artery that I got from a fall several days earlier. I wasnt able to call the Motel at all and my room was booked for 2 more days only, yet I was in the Hospital for 5 days. Upon leaving I went back to the Motel thinking that I would never see my stuff again. I went into the main office and spoke to Kristen. Within moments she had my bag for me. All of my clothes were folded nicely and my expensive headphones, phone chargers, computer, etc. were all in my bag waiting for me. She handed it over with a smile and I wasn't charged a dollar for them having to put it all together fopr me. I couldn't imagine this happening anywhere else at all!!!! I would say that if you are on a budget and staying in the area that you would be wise to stay at the Motel 6. Kristen is absolutely fantastic and the new General Manager is always available to answer any questions for you and to help you out. They even called security to come patrol the Motel the first night that I waas there because I was worried about a group of men walking around who didn't seem to belong. 10 minutes after my complaint they were gone and I felt safe for the remainder of my stay. For less than 60 dollars a night you will not get better than this Motel 6!!!!!!! TRUST ME!!!!! Very happy with every aspect of my stay. If I am ever back in Denver this is where I will be staying!!!! Chris H.

Everybody has been really nice to us here so far. This is a great location with a hardware store on the property. There are a gas station, taco bell, and if you are here on vacation, they have an outdoor and ski equipment store, all right across the street. It is perfectly centered in between the beautiful Rocky mountains and the Mile High city of Denver Colorado. Everybody has been really nice to us here so far. We stayed here last night with our adult children and their plus ones. The hotel is 30 minutes west of DEN and right off I-70. Our flight did not get in until 11:30 PM, so we arrived quite late. Arrival and check-in were seamless. Rooms very nice, with sink outside toilet and shower room - very convenient when sharing with another couple. Beds were VERY comfortable, temp easy to regulate, blackout curtains allowed us to sleep in, fridge and microwave, coffee in lobby. Breakfast was the usual waffles, yogurt, dry cereal, muffins with the added bonus of beautiful bakery bread sliced thick, scrambled eggs cooked perfectly and very tasty sausage!! I don't usually eat a lot for breakfast but did not resist. Coffee is Colombian and quite good, too. This is a keeper.
