Hotel Portacavana

If you don't want to have contact with the hotel staff, this is a place for you. I would have preferred someone sometimes to be at the reception and deal with issues like TV not working in the room. also, they don't have a locked luggage storage room. And they clean very rarely (our room was only cleaned on the 3rd day). I guess these are the reasons the place is not pricey, even though it is in the center of the city (therefore, it is also noisy). Good things: fridge in the room, homey design.

The room was not in the Mainhause - well this could be only an advantage because of such thin paper Walls. It was a room in normal living house. The heating will start at 5 o clock in the evening - this is absolute senseless, because it takes a lot more engery to heat up the room about 10 degrees instead to keep it well temperatured. So someone tries to save some money and you as guest have to stay in a coold room. Death Insekts and cowebs are present, the furiniture looks a bit as it had been survied its best times. It seems the coat of arms on the floor was more important. Well, the house itself was an old house with his charme, but this charme wont´be used in any kind, paired without any kind of knowledge how to run a hotel in a good way. At the evening the heating does not work - power failure - room dark, heating not working. Neighbour found the fuse and the lights turned on, but the heating keeps coold. One Time informed the serivce - puted on the heating again. At evening - service was away - as the same issue - lights out - heating out - so heating keeps out of service the whole night. So freezing at night - the last time i had this issue in my army times - but never in a place i paid for. Only advante: We had warm water to take a shower. Never ever again, never book this place to save money - they should be ashame, i spent one night in a germany barrack which has been used as hostel (red bricks building) after my army time. This had been cost only 30% from this mess and was compared to this a 5 Star Palace . Never ever again -

Ottima soluzione anche per una gita scolastica: essere in centro è un ottimo vantaggio. Ho trovato comodo avere i miei ragazzi ‘raccolti’, in una struttura nostra, che ha permesso di controllare i loro movimenti. Le camere sono pulite e confortevoli, l’andamento caldo.

Hotel centralissimo , in un edificio storico vicinissimo a Piazza Unità d'Italia e alla movida triestina. L' hotel è pulito e confortevole. Il proprietario è stato molto gentile fornendoci informazioni sul soggiorno e su ristoranti e caffè dove fare colazione. Al momento della partenza ci ha raggiunto in stazione per riportarci il carica batterie dimenticato in camera...un gesto veramente cortese e non da tutti.. Grazie! Quando torneremo a Trieste l'hotel Portacavana sarà di nuovo il nostro punto di riferimento.

posizione eccellente, struttura storica affascinante anche se un po' da manutenere... la irreprensibile pulizia sarebbe più evidente a muri "raffrescati"; mi pare si stia muovendo qualcosa in tal senso. il gestore Christian è molto cortese (da 10 con lode) Non ottimo il rapporto qualità/prezzo, rispetto ad altre città italiane ed estere. grazie.

Un hotel particolare, le stanze sono molto accoglienti con stile ed affreschi rinascimentali ad adornarle. Il legno domina nella composizione rendendo la struttura molto affascinante. stanze luminose e pulite, cosí come i bagni. Ubicato in una zona super centrale. In piena Piazza Cavana, a due passi da Piazza Unitá e dai bar e ristoranti del centro di Trieste.
