The trip started badly , we were taken to security as I had a camouflage hat on . Apparently it is illegal in Tobago . Our suitcases were meticulously searched and anything with any resemblance to camouflage whatever colour was confiscated. Two pairs of shorts swimming trunks, my new dress , underpants , belt , my deceased dads hat . Very scary experience, stuff thrown back in case . At last we got our transport who were worried as we were so late getting to them ,over an hour late. Slow winding trip to hotel , after queuing for petrol took nearly 2 hours and. I suffered travel sickness. All rooms at Blue waters have fabulous sea views . It is remote destination, nothing in nearest village but it really is a beautiful place . The rooms are very basic . Ours had no fridge , my husband is diabetic needs his insulin cool so our neighbours suggested we have theirs . No tv either , but fine for us. Food was very nice , we paid all inclusive. BUT some things were ‘all gone’ no fish, no steak, no puddings I only had 3 puds all holiday. Though people we joined after our meal got puds which we were told 10 mins previously were sold out…but they were not AI , exactly same menu though. This really needs addressing as a lot of the people on the AI were moaning. Web page says still 2 bars one open till the last person leaves, there isn’t…. there is one only , it shuts at 10. Fire alarms went off 3 nights running . Sea is very rough here , certainly would be very worried if i had brought children here. Walking on the jetty to the boats is horrendous big holes and uneven lifted planks. Dive school has closed down , maybe since covid, no explanation. Games room locked . Swimming pool tiny but adequate but highly chlorinated, hot tub not on unless you ask at reception . Would I go again , yes if they sorted out the problems , maybe a bit later in year maybe Xmas or January . It was a beautiful view there which is a big plus point .

My husband and I had an amazing time here. We were in a one bedroomed beach bungalow which was footsteps from the beautiful beach and very blue sea. Beautiful inside. We received a very warm and friendly welcome. The food was delicious, never had a bad meal and the staff and service were great! We hope to return in the near future ❤️

We stayed at this hotel for 11 nights, I found the accommodation more than adequate, so close to the beautiful ocean which sounded lovely as you lay on your bed. The food was really good if you like what is on the menu which I did, my husband was not so pleased as his taste in food is different, he likes chilii/ spaghetti etc. The service is relaxed especially if it’s busy in the restaurant but there was no hurry as far as I was concerned, it’s the way of life there. The staff were friendly, polite and caring, we were all inclusive so I felt they deserved a little tip to say a big thank you. The Frank boat trip was a highlight, such a caring, knowledgeable man gave us his time and information on Little Tobago. The birds are wonderful, we saw tropical fish and turtles. I fed the fish off the jetty, it was so relaxing being there, I hope someone else does the same, there are so many different fish. Would I go back, yes if I wanted tranquility, relaxation sun and lovely people but I have so many other places I want to go to first, so maybe one day. Thank you Blue Waters Inn I loved being with you.

An idyllic spot - sandy beach, beautiful bay, snorkelling, sea-facing apartments, good food and friendly staff. The bay is on the other of the island to the airport, the latter part of the journey follows the coast so there are a lot of steep hills and hairpin bends. The Inn has 38 apartments. The rooms are a good size with plenty of storage space, a good size balcony and a large shower. The water pressure is not high but is adequate for the shower. The room has effective air conditioning but no television. Wifi worked throughout the hotel. Other features include a balcony restaurant overlooking the bay serving very good food (a lot of fish), an infinity pool and sun lounging area and a games room. Several diving, glass-bottomed, boats run trips twice a day to Little Tobago. Knowledgeable guides point out the main flora and fauna - trails are quite wide, though steep in places. Wear stout shoes, use sunscreen and take plenty of water. The reef is not very colourful but the snorkelling is fun from the boats. It is easiest to pay for the boats in local currency. We didn't hire a car but were told that reception would arrange for a rental car to be delivered to the hotel at good rates. Once again can I emphasise how all the staff, whether working in the bar, restaurant or grounds were welcoming and very friendly and made the holiday just as much as the fantastic location.

Arrived late in evening and had an efficient check in and shown to room that was perfectly acceptable however shower area could do with more attention as shower screen was dirty. Went down to dinner and served quickly . Meal cooked to order which was a surprise for all inclusive and was very nice. Wine served at table and was topped up without asking and staff very attentive. However bar shut at 10pm not so good when you arrive late and just want to unwind. So first impressions were good. Unfortunately things did not live up to that first experience. The hotel is very remote and situated in a deep valley so unless you are very fit or enjoy hill walking you are stuck at the resort unless you want to get a taxi or hire a car this would not be recommended as the roads are not the best being narrow and very windey. Apart from one or two young waitress and Jason the catering manager the staff can seem very stand offish and the barman is downright rude either ignoring you or growling. Wine is in very short supply on two consecutive nights we were told red wine had run out after us having two glasses, the impression you were left with is that after 9.30pm they were not going to open another bottle as they wanted to close bar at 10pm. Don't forget to ask for the secret menu if you are staying at hotel as they will only show you the one menu for both lunch and dinner with very limited options although really nice food can get monotonous after a few days. The pool area although had comfy beds did not have any sun shades over these. Pool itself we asked for it to be cleaned which was done but the water was only tested once. It was unfortunate that the beach had such a lot of sea**** on it during our stay. This was not the hotels fault just nature and time of year. They did all they could to clean it up and the last few days was very clean with plenty of sun beds. Have to give a mention to Marva the rep. She was outstanding we had a minor medical emergency and needed some medical equipment she went above and beyond and she really thought outside the box to help us and can not be thanked enough. Would I recommend this particular hotel in this location probably not. This was my first experience of the carribean and unfortunately will think twice before I visit again.

On arrival it was OK, and were shown to our room. Afterwards we went for dinner which was good, cooked to order which was a surprise for all inclusive. Had a few glasses of wine, first night was a good first impression, then it went down hill and why we wont be going back, after dismissal of the reviews i read, i was tovregret it, the bar shut dead on 10pm not when the last person left, the next day we got up and had a shower although the bathroom was clean the shower screen looked like it could do with a scrubbing it still hadn't been cleaned all the time we were there, so first morning went for breakfast and given the menu after a while we got our food which again was really good. All the food was great throughout our trip, however for the first 8 days we were given the same menu for lunch and dinner with a choice of 6 or 7 things, however there is another menu, we called it the secret menu as you have ask for it, we found out 3 days before we left. There is a bar man who is like the worst I've ever came across, he didn't even speak to you to the stage where you didn't even know if he heard you, two nights in a row at 9.30pm we were told they ran out of red wine, it seemed we were limited to two glasses, I even witnessed one girl about to open a bottle, when the bar man called her back and we were told they had ran out. After speaking to the catering manager who confirmed that they had not ran out, things changed as far as red wine went, until our last day waiting for our pickup after a 45 minute wait for a portion of chips for lunch again was told no wine. Some of the young girls were really good but the older ones were not always polite. The pool was dirty and needed cleaning, there was a spa pool next to pool which had to much chlorine in it to the point it took the colour out of my shorts. We did see someone test it once during our stay. There is not enough shade around the pool unless you sit at a table there thee off. One good thing was the holiday rep Marva she was out standing who went the extra mile by getting us a replacement for a nebuliser as mine didn't work, she went through the town office to obtain one and kept me updated all day. A big thanks to Marva. But we won't be back at Bluewater inn.

The view from the 3/4-star Hotel is definitely the best reason to stay here. The rooms we stayed in were right on the edge of the beach and you can hear the sound of the sea waves from your bed. Golden sand and easy to walk into the sea, and free paddle boards and canoes. Very restful place to stay. Unfortunately (Along with most of the Caribbean Islands) the beach is presently covered with sargassum sea****. The Hotel staff do their best to remove it on a daily basis only to see vast amounts return within hours. The hotel rooms were cleaned daily and the maids were very good. Our room had a kitchen with cutlery and glasses, and there was a hairdryer. The resort provides plenty of free clean towels. We were all inclusive residents for 7 days and became disappointed with the basic food menu which was the same every day for both lunch and dinner. Breakfast offered plenty of choice (Which surely could be included in the lunch menu??) The staff at breakfast were excellent - especially Erica (who has worked at the resort for 30+ years) she really deserves a mention for great service and is cheerful with an infectious smile. Nearly all of the female restaurant / bar staff were great. Unfortunately this cannot be said for the barman Kim, who clearly didn't want to be there or serve customers. Who knows? we could have caught him on a bad week, but he really let the rest of the hard working staff down with his unfriendly / lazy attitude. The closest small town SPEYSIDE is a 30 min hilly walk away. Check out Jemma's Tree House for really good food, and walk another 15 mins to Newton George's house to view his Humming Birds (Cost $ US 10 per person). Reception ordered a taxi (get driver Albert if you can) on 2 occasions for daily sightseeing Trips we did to nearby other towns and the Argyle Waterfall / Rainforest. There are also 2 glass bottom boats in the hotel bay that charge US $45 for a great 2.5 hour tour of Little Tobago Island and coral reef snorkelling. (Actually saw 3 full sized turtles).

Just nearing the end of our 11 day stay at Blue Waters Inn. We booked through Blue bay travel after seeing it advertised on Secret Escapes. All inclusive deal. Most guests at the hotel seemed to be on the same deal) We arrived late in the evening due to a 2 hour wait at Immigration ( their 5 immigration kiosks completely inadequate for the 2 planes which arrived almost at the same time) So there was just time for a quick check in, meal and sleep. We found check in to be easy and was welcomed with the promised complimentary bottle of wine and 2 bottles of water. Our room ( 39 ) was ground floor walkout, just steps from the ocean and a eautiful beach... 2 double beds, comfortable and adequate for our needs. There is a fridge ( for water) but no minibar available, (having said that it was never a problem to get a drink from the bar and take it back to the room if wished). Food and drink...as mentioned in other reviews there is an all inclusive plan menu and an alternative menu. We asked the manager to explain and she told us we could have any 2 courses from either menu but steak and lobster had an additional charge. There are also certain drinks and a selection of cocktails ( all delicious... especially the pinacoladas) on the AI menu, and another cocktail menu ( and premium rate drinks which you pay extra for. Over the 11 days we tried almost everything and I can honestly say the food was delicious and plentiful. My only criticism of the food and drink would be that after 11 days, the same menu for lunch and dinner is a little restricted ( I hear there are plans to address this with a dish of the day) We found all the staff to be polite and courteous. Special mention to Erika who works tirelessly with a smile and welcome. It was also good to see a very hands on manager making great strides in improving things. Whilst we were there new sun beds and loungers were delivered, ensuring there were always plenty on the beach or round the pool. The beach, as mentioned before is lovely, although can be affected in Feb/ March by the Sargassum ****, which washes up onto the beach. ( Staff work hard to clear regularly from the beach but it's quite a task!) Don't let this put you off though. The pool whilst quite small is adequate for the hotel and most of the time we were the only ones in it. Area The hotel is in a bay, its a steep climb from the hotel to get anywhere. A walk/ hike to the next bay ( Belmont) takes around 40 mins each way but worth it for secluded bathing. We didn't find Speyside village really worth visiting. Diving, I did 8 dives with Tobago dive experience. Easy to arrange, just send a WhatsApp message. They will pick you up from the jetty at the hotel ( now fully repaired) and we found them to be excellent. Overall, This place is perfect for a relaxed, chilled holiday. Chance to recharge batteries. There's no entertainment. The bar shuts at 10 but as the sunrises early and sets behind the mountain about 5, there's plenty of time to get i

Compared to the places I stayed on Trinidad I found this hotel very indifferent to it's guests. On arrival there was the usual forms to fill and a key given to you and you were shown to your room but had to ask for someone to assist with getting your bags upstairs. You were pointed in the general direction of the bar & restaurant and given a coloured band to wear to show what you were allowed to have in the way of food and beverages, however the system was not explained to you that you were only entitled to a starter & main OR a starter and dessert OR a main and dessert. Coffee was not part of the deal the portions were adequate but the menu did not have a great choice. Breakfast was a bit of fruit and one dish. Lunch was just a sandwich & chips. If you did not order your meal from one to the next a long wait usually ensued before receiving it. A beautiful view but again no guidance was given on what trips were available such as going to Little Tobago or that there were trips out in a glass bottomed boat these were only obvious when lounging around and seeing the boats leaving on their respective trips. I certainly out of choice would not visit this hotel again should I return to Tobago.
