seems that some hotels forgot that their point is to make a stay enjoyable. I was just happy that my stay was over this hotel. Stayed here a couple years ago and enjoyed that experience a lot more. Now maintenance is clearly needed. Noise from room above and rooms to the side penetrated and prevented a restful night's sleep. Coffee machine broke and was promptly replaced. Telephone was not working properly. Was not replaced. Finicky AC thermostat kept going on and off and the clicking was obnoxious. AC had a slight drip that kept me up the last night. Cleaning schedule starts at 9:00 a.m. and that noise is noticeable and wakes you up early. Elevator is oddly slow to close and arrive. Breakfast is repetitive. Some of the staff is helpful and some of the staff is overwhelmed. No gym or other amenities. At check out nobody even asked how my stay was. The sad thing is there are worse hotels than this one in Taipei.

A good hotel that is well located in Taipei. The ben though the exterior is somewhat dated, the interior is adequate and well kept. Breakfast is pleasant and service attentive. The only word of caution is being given a room that is interior facing and can be somewhat dark in the day time; maybe uncomfortable for those who yearn for natural light.

I chose a room with separate bath. The bath is not a Western-style bath that you can lie in. It’s square shaped and about four feet wide and long. You can sit in it, but you can’t recline in it if this is something you’re looking for. The hotel offers an outstanding breakfast at the Tavernist. Breakfast here is easily more delicious than at more expensive hotels. Even the coffee was great. Breakfast is a la carte rather than buffet but the servings are perhaps even excessively generous. The hotel location is also very good. I wasn’t that familiar with Taipei when I booked but the location turned out to be convenient. It’s a few minutes walk to Zhongxiao Fuxing station, which can take travelers to a few tourist spots, and about a twenty minute walk to Huashan Creative Park. There are Japanese-style department stores with restaurants in the basements and upper floors in addition to local cafes and restaurants.

Why do many Taipei people do not know that it exists, because it is on the upper floor of the East Gate Post Office, and the door is on the cross street next to the post office, so most people are walking on Xinyi Road and will not pay attention to it, but it is just opposite the intersection of Xinyi Road, Lishui Street. What sets this hotel apart: If you are looking to stay in a quiet neighborhood (instead of a hotel along a busy/noisy street) with a good value/price, great service, and convenient location in Taipei, this hotel is a strong contender. This combination is what sets it apart from other hotels. Hotels nearby are either priced higher or along the main streets. Positives: - The team's service and attitude are consistently professional and courteous throughout my entire stay. Everyone was professional. No one came across rude, impatient, or defensive. They thanked me for choosing them and also took responsibility/ownership on things they did not do right the first time. - They took notes on things you said and requested with immediate response or within 24 hours if needed more time. - They practiced active listening, asked clarification questions to ensure what I needed/requested. - Excellent breakfast, full of variety. They kept standard items standard by providing them daily but also added some variety by changing 3-5 dishes. All foods are fresh and prepared on site. - Housekeeping service had great attitude and was efficient in cleaning throughout the entire stay. - They have an elevator. Most hotels in Taiwan have elevators. - They are happy to help moving your luggage upon request. - Excellent hot shower temperature and pressure - Amenities provided in the room is abundant with good quality - They are trustworthy in honoring pre-agreed upon check-in requirements. Before booking this hotel, I asked about the check-in requirements and what I felt comfortable providing and what not. They agreed and executed accordingly. I appreciate how their words and actions are consistent, which is very different from some hotels (Best Western always acted inconsistently, Marriott, Hilton, and IHG hotels are spotty, some are good, and some are bad) in the US and Canada where they said/agreed one things and acted differently when I arrived at the front desk for check-in. Hotel services in Taiwan are generally much better in terms of service attitude and honoring their words. - Effective expectation management and communication - When raising issues, they took it with positive attitude: they always first owned it by providing a sincere apology, tried to solve it immediately. If they couldn't solve it right away, they asked for more time and provided a timeframe on when it would be solved. Throughout my stay, 50% of issues were solved immediately, and 50% were solved within 12 to 24 hours. No issues remained unresolved. - Common areas are always very clean and organized. Negatives: - Not always have people at the front desk to help open the heavy doors. Better to change it to auto-sliding doors. - The elevator carpet is gross and dirty: time to change it. There was a hair hidden underneath the hand towel on first day - raised the issue and they fixed it the next morning. Should not have missed at first place. - There was a dirty blue cup with watermarks all

The hotel was very conveniently located, near the mrt station and the shopping area. The room was also very spacious and comfortable. Surprised that the bathroom had a bathtub! Bed was comfy too. Although the hotel is far from the city, everything about the hotel itself is amazing. Book this place to get away from the craziness of downtown, but be sure to leave from here more than 4 hours to get to the airport if you're driving. It can be troublesome. I’ll return here again because I enjoy the ease and air of the room. It fits~ Both Double and King rooms are nice and the Internet is blazing fast in case you need to stream or hold online meetings.

We are here to visit a good friend from National Taiwan University. We stayed here for 5 nights and were very pleased with the service. It was our first time here, so there were many places we wanted to visit. The waiter in the lobby answered a lot of questions for us, provided me with local maps, arranged taxis for us, and provided travel suggestions. At night, we slept soundly on the big bed. Stayed for three consecutive nights, the waiter and valet parking service are very good. The Chinese and Western breakfast is simple and varied. Parking is limited, luckily there are spots. The water pressure in the bathroom is strong, so be careful when using it to avoid flooding the bathroom 😂 It is 400 meters away from Dongmen MRT Station, and the nearby Dongmen Market is very convenient to visit. Although it is not the most upscale hotel, it is very good to sleep, thank you for your care.

Location was very convenient. Its a 10 min walk to the taipei 101 MRT station and right under the hotel is a 7/11 convenience store with a MOS burger fastfood chain. The building does seem old but the interior and rooms were recently renovated. My only problem was their plumbing in the toilet. It releases a bad odor on certain times but other than that the room is really clean

The photo of the room is completely inconsistent. The room is very small and even I live with a double bed. 3⃣️The boss said that the building is old ant nest You can’t clean it up. Don’t eat in the room. It’s only when you arrive at the hotel. 4⃣️Seriously close to the locomotive on the roadside, my room is terrible... I don’t know why I was so unlucky. I have been preparing for the CFA for eight or nine months. Because of the hotel, I only slept for three or four hours the night before the test, which was a heavy-duty two-session test in the morning and afternoon. I completely failed in this garbage hotel, or the room on the side of the main road just close to Keelung Road. The windows are extremely bad. I heard the sound of the locomotive for two days. In fact, the perfect and complete test schedule was completely ruined in this bad hotel (mainly because the sound of the locomotive can’t sleep at all) 5⃣️I had a room before I left.
