The location was also perfect—it was close to all the places I wanted to visit. "My stay at Novotel Cambridge was extremely disappointing due to serious cleanliness issues. Upon checking into Room 205, I discovered visible blood stains on the duvet. This is not a minor oversight — it is a basic hygiene failure. Clean bedding is the absolute minimum standard any guest should expect. Finding blood stains immediately raised concerns about the room being properly cleaned and inspected. I reported the issue and was informed that the bedding had been cleaned again. However, when I returned to check, the stains were still there. This was both frustrating and alarming, as it suggested a lack of proper quality control within housekeeping. Only after escalating the matter was it properly addressed. Charlotte, the manager, eventually upgraded us to an executive room and provided complimentary breakfast, which I appreciate. However, this does not change the fact that the initial room condition was unacceptable and should never have happened in the first place. An upgrade is a service recovery gesture — it does not erase the hygiene concern or the distress caused at the start of our stay. I hope the hotel seriously reviews its cleaning procedures and room inspection standards to prevent future guests from experiencing the same issue. Unfortunately, based on cleanliness alone, I would not rate this stay highly."

"We absolutely loved the Hotel and would nightly recommend. Lots of room so our daughter felt like she had her own little area. Breakfast was of a high standard. My only criticism is I couldn’t open the bedroom windows . There is only AC. As a woman of a certain age this wasn’t helpful. Otherwise I wholeheartedly recommend.."

"Room is small and little bit old fashion style, this hotel is a historical hotel so it doesn’t affect it’s beauty. The room with Park view that awesome, pay 333 pounds per night is ok for the value!! breakfast is good and the hotel is in the town center so it’s very easier to get whatever you want, don’t stay at the hotel near the railway station because it’s still has a distance to the city center!! hotel allowed free bicycle renting service, that’s so nice!!"

"It's a beautiful, modern hotel that feels more like a cool apartment. The rooms are stylish and have a kitchenette, which is really handy. The best part is the amazing co-working space. It's perfect if you need to get some work done. There's also a great coffee shop and restaurant inside. The staff were very friendly and the whole place has a relaxed, stylish vibe. I booked an executive room with the balcony as I like to spend some time on there unfortunately the room next door Continuously smoking ******** out there so I was unable to use the balcony so I was very disgruntled. I ordered a bottle of Fizz which stated £30 on the menu to find out the next day I’ll build 110 for it."
