Microtel Placentinos

I had a great couple of nights at this hotel. It is a great bargain in Salamanca. It is is located within 5-10 minutes of most of the main sights. Service is excellent for the level of hotel it is. It is located about a 20-25 min walk from the train station. Internet access was solid and and reasonably speedy. Breakfast is what one would expect at this price level. Basically a continental breakfast with Spanish options. My room had a refrigerator which was useful. No kettle or coffee maker though. I had the attic room with a sloping ceiling which they warn you about when making a reservation. This description and warning they give you is correct. I am 5'10" and had no issues though I had to bend over when shaving in the bathroom to see myself in mirror. If you are much taller than 5'10" you may not want to take this room. I really enjoyed Salamanca and my stay at the Microtel.

A very good location for walking to the old city. The staff were friendly, but did not speak much English. Our room 23 was comfortable and quiet, but had a sloped ceiling, so we had to bend to not hit our heads. The breakfast had good choices. This small hotel does have an elevator.

When you look up MIcrotel Placentinos you might imagine that with that name and that price that you are taking a risk. You would be wrong. I was surprised to find it listed in Lonely Planet & Fodors with a star rating. Its on a quiet side street in the beautiful city of Salamanca and its worth its stars. My comfortable quiet room cost me only 70 euros - an absolute bargain! I loved the old brick walls & timbers of my room with enough room for me and my large bags. There was a spa tub in my room though I didn't get to use it because I showered late and didn't want to disturb anyone. The location was an easy walk to everything to see and do and eat. Great little hotel.

I came across this hotel on Trip Advisor and I am really glad I did! I have rarely found such a great value for money accommodation: the room and the bathroom were very comfortable, very clean and had all that was needed for a 3-day stay. The location could not have been more central, hyper convenient. Included in the price a good breakfast. Hotel staff was friendly and professional. For sure I will go back should I travel to Salamanca again!

We stayed here for two nights and were very happy. Our room was small but beautiful. The Front Desk staff were very nice and helpful. Our bed was very comfortable and the bathroom clean and efficient. Breakfast was good. The hotel location is exceptional - walking distance to everything! This is a good hotel.

I stayed for 2 nights in August and had a very pleasant experience. The location is great, within 10 min walking distance to all the main attractions. Still it was a calm and quiet neighbourhood, not as touristy as a lot of other places. The staff was friendly and welcoming, the room charming with its stone walls and small balcony, which also made it nice and cool. The bathroom was a bit small and oldfashioned, but clean. The breakfast buffet was small but sufficient and high quality, everything that I wanted was included (except perhaps eggs?). I recommend this place for single travellers and couples and would like to stay here again when visiting Salamanca.

Estuve el fin de semana con unos amigos y fue un acierto. El hotel está fenomenal, muy bien cuidado y las habitaciones son muy acogedoras. La ubicación es inmejorable, totalmente recomendable, volveremos!

Un hotelito con mucho encanto en el centro de Salamanca, muy bien situado para cualquier punto de interés de la ciudad. La estancia muy agradable, colchón muy cómodo y la almohada también. El personal muy atento y agradable. Por poner una pega la habitación un poco pequeña, pero perfecta para 2 noches.
