I have to start by saying that this hotel was in an ideal location to walk around what is an absolutely beautiful city. The issue that I have with it is that we booked here as it advertised parking. The warning I would give is that the small print then states that this is situated elsewhere and is chargeable. We booked whilst still on the road and when we arrived we struggled to find the hotel as it’s not really accessible by vehicle. We ended driving up an ‘authorised vehicles only’ road just to get to it. We were then told that they had no parking and were given a map with the two nearest locations of public car parks. (The receptionist was very patient as I was none too happy at this point due to being on the road for the better part of an entire day). The issue was that there was an Easter celebration event and we spent nearly an hour then driving around trying to find somewhere to park. The room was nice but was overly hot. Due to it being their winter the AC was only kicking out hot air albeit it had been 27c during the day. The window wouldn’t close properly which normally would be good due to the heat but the noise was unbearable. People were out drinking and celebrating till nearly 5am and then the refuse collection started around 7.30am even though it was Easter Sunday. Maybe some of these issues are not directly the fault of the hotel but thought it best to mention them. Great location but beware the noise and poor access for vehicles. The staff were kind and patient and went out of their way to help us.

My husband and i stayed here for 1 night on our way to Seville. We had a great room which was very clean and spacious. The hotel is in a quiet area of Salamanca but also not far from the main square which is about a 10 minute walk. it is located across from one of the universities and near a very big park. We enjoyed walking to the main centre as we got to see the beautiful streets of Salamanca. We really enjoyed visiting this town and will definitely be back.

It is 2 km from the railway station and only 5 euros by taxi. There is no need for a bus for 3 people, and there is no bus in front of the bus. The hotel is very quiet, there is a net red restaurant 50 meters walk, you need to book in advance. The room facilities are relatively new, the room is large, the bathroom function is partitioned, but the bathtub and shower are integrated. The toilets in the public areas are also clean and can be seen with care. The front desk was very welcoming and the breakfast was great, especially with the savory fritters and a variety of hams for a fee of EUR 9. It is the operation of the hot drinks machine is not very convenient, causing queues.

We stayed in a standard double room at the Hospes Palacio de San Esteban for 2-nights in mid-June (€144/night). The upscale hotel was located just inside the old town, easy to access and a short 10 min walk to all of the tourist attractions (cathedrals, university, Plaza Mayor). It was housed in 2 buildings, with reception and some of the rooms in the older 16th century convent, and most of the rooms in a 19th century addition to the convent to the rear. Our 4th floor room, in the newer section, was long and narrow, seemingly comprising 3 former convent rooms, with a wood-shuttered window in each of its 3 sections: the bedroom, the closet & vanity area, and the bathroom. While compact, the layout worked and the feeling was spaciousness & light. The bedroom had a comfortable king bed & side tables, desk & chair, mini-refrigerator, 52 inch flat screen TV; the vanity area had double built-in closets and a 2-sink vanity with plenty of storage space; and the bathroom had a bathtub/shower. While only a standard room, the 4th floor location gave us views over the roofs to the Santo Domingo monastery and its stork nests right next door, and to the cathedrals, both quite magical when light up at night. The hotel had plenty of parking (€14/night), and a nice pool amid a huge grassy area with plenty of loungers. The staff were friendly and helped with every request. Overall, everything you would want in an upscale hotel in an historic city.
