The hotel is a charming hotel, and the experience of sleeping in a castle has only enlarged this trip! ❤️ Hotel full of stories. Maravich service, fantastic room and a wonderful breakfast with a fantastic view!

A fantastic two days away made special by the absolutely wonderful staff from check in, to the spa to bar and wait staff. We had a wonderful first wedding anniversary meal at the Estate Room. The meal was excellent but what made our night was being served by Zeni/Fernando. He made great recommendations for both food and wine. The goats cheese starter was absolutely amazing. The venison loin was wonderfully cooked. Views of course are excellent; from the loch to schiehallion.

Came to this hotel to meet with family from Inverness so were looking forward to a lovely catch up and nice night away. We were a party of four plus one fur baby. Upon check in we arrived 1 hour early and thought we would see if there was the possibility of the room being ready. We were meant with a cold and sharp response that no rooms in the full hotel were ready. This was at 3pm. My family who arrived 30mins early also received the same response and frosty reception. When we did check in one of the staff started feeding my dog loads of biscuits without my consent and I had to politely ask her to stop. She did not know the temperament of my dog or if she had any diet issues. When we checked into our room we did have to go around the room with wet wipes. We were disgusted with the fluff and stickiness to the tv remote especially! Before and after dinner we sat in their lounge which was lovely. The price of the food menu and drinks menu is very overpriced for the quality which you received. For breakfast we ordered a full cooked breakfast. The sausages tasted very unusual and we ask the waiter if he knew what kind they were. He said he didn’t and we asked if he could find out which he gave a tut and eye roll to. Found out they were gluten free. Strange to serve gluten free when neither of us have a gluten intolerance. Overall leaving the hotel we had had a nice time due to company but knew we would not return. We were in total shock when we received an email to say that we were being charged an additional £25 for mud paw marks on the bed sheets. We called the hotel to explain that we returned to our room and my dog put her front paws on top on the duvet sheet. Something which dog owners will know is part of having a dog. We did not realise her paws were mucky when entering the room. She is a small to medium size dog so the paw prints were small. We were told that it is in their policy that additional charges would be occurred for exceptional cleaning circumstances. I would not deem this to fall into that category. The receptionist said she would speak with management regarding our dispute and contact us back. You could imagine our surprise when my mums card was charged the £25 and we had no contact from management. I emailed the hotel regarding this also to let them know that I had left a bottle of perfume in the room if they could look into this. After several days of no contact I called again and was told they would be in touch. Two days after this I received an email from the owner Claire. She stated that we should not have had our dog on the bed, quoted their policy, said my perfume was no where to be found and that it was unfortunate that my dog misbehaved and we were left disappointed as a result. I could not believe an email like this would come from an owner. I replied that if she had spoken with staff she would have known the dog was not on the bed and the event that caused the marks. Old Manse proprietors Anne and Archie and their team recently provided our group of friends with the most wonderful experience and a lifetime of memories. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a very warm welcome by Anne, Archie, GM Andi and their staff most of whom introduced themselves. Their attention to detail was immediately apparent with the gardens, rooms and property in exquisite condition. The rooms have all been recently renovated with comfortable beds, luxurious bathrooms and fittings. There are walking/running paths all over, with a scenic 2 mile path to Blair Castle and a short .7 mi to House of Bruar shops with Bruar Falls hike right behind the shops. We also took advantage of nearby mountain biking, ziplining and bungee jumping. But the highlight of our stay was a Highland Games event that Anne and her team helped coordinate right on the grounds with fun and friendly competition, pipes and a falconry demonstration (check out their IG page). Due to our group size breakfasts were buffet style. We had 2 dinners in the Orangery Restaurant and a BBQ outdoors and all meals were great. Hats off to chef Tom, Tony, Brian and the whole kitchen. Rory and Lucca are great mixologists and allowed us extra time for fellowship a little beyond their typical closing time. Uber and cab service isn't reliable in the area so we got a couple of rental cars. With the strict DUI laws in Scotland (.05% bac), it's not suggested you drive even after 1 drink esp. if you don't normally drive on the left. For an additional charge and prearranged times, Anne, Archie and Andi provided transportation to the group to and from Pitlochry which gave everyone good peace of mind. During our 4 day stay we were absolutely blown away by the level of service, professionalism and fun that was provided. The team that is currently in place is world class from the owners Anne and Archie to GM Andi and all staff. In this tough hiring environment especially in a less populated area, the Old Manse has really nailed it with a team that works well together and has fun while doing it. Whether it's a quiet weekend getaway for a couple or a reunion group of 40, the Old Manse is a great place for your Highland stay.

Great stopping off point on a Scottish road trip. Good location and our room had a super view of rolling hills. The hotel itself is looking a little tired in places but we’re told a refurb is planned for the off-season. But - the restaurant was absolutely superb. Some of the best Indian food we’ve had anywhere. Lovely, freshly cooked and absolutely delicious - with some different Tiffin small plates to start. It certainly lives up to the hype and deserving of its awards; it was also good to see it was well patronised by locals. The Gin bar had a great selection of gin and whisky. Breakfast was traditional Scottish fare and was equally well presented and very tasty. Recommended if you’re passing through.

This venue is really a hidden gem up to a point , the Chef and kitchen ( paticularly the Haddock and Poached Eggs at Breakfast which is Michelin Star level ) the spa and swimming pool are kept to a good standard of hygene , however there is a serious problem with service which is evident from the staff behind the bar ( Saturday 4th May to be specific ) where it was plainly evident for all of the guests seated in the lounge to witness the grief that was being given to the Restaurant Host and other waiting staff by the two individulas behind the bar who were making their life's a misery by poor attitude and unhelpfulness when rightfully they were chasing restaurant drink orders which were painfully slow on deliverance attributed totally to the ineptness of the bar staff . Its about time that Providence Hotels boss Mr Neil Hughes and Blantyre Capital and Fairtree Alternative Real Estate were made aware of this as it is not fair on the efforts made by the other staff who are being dragged down needlessly by the bar staffs under performance , ineptness and demeanour .

The hotel is great, the service facilities are superb, the super five stars, the scenery is also very good, but the location is really hearty, no matter which way to the road conditions can scare you not to continue to open
