"We had a good overall stay at Daiichi Takimotokan, a large traditional ryokan-style hotel. While the property is a little dated, it is well maintained and kept clean. The hotel itself offers plenty to do, including restaurants, a souvenir shop, simple arcade games, karaoke, massage services, a public onsen, and even a small reading area with Japanese books. You can easily spend time exploring the building without needing to go out. The location is very convenient. It is just outside the main (short) shopping street and within walking distance to Jigokudani, making it easy to explore the area. Our stay included breakfast and dinner buffet. Dinner had a wide variety of options, including popular sashimi selections and steamed snow crabs, along with both Japanese and Western dishes. Breakfast was a simpler spread but still satisfying. We stayed in a Japanese-style room and found the futons comfortable to sleep on. As we visited during winter, the room had central heating only. At times, we cooled the room by slightly opening the window to let in some cold air. Yukata robes are provided in the room (or you can choose one that fits you at the lobby), and you can wear them around the hotel when heading to the onsen, restaurants, or arcade. The public onsen area is spacious and features many different pools with various functions, so you can take your time and enjoy the experience. Just remember to wash yourself thoroughly at the shower stations before entering the onsen pools. Unfortunately, we did not try the outdoor onsen despite it being open — we were a little intimidated by the winter cold! Overall, we would recommend this hotel, especially for first-timers who want to experience staying in a traditional ryokan. Tip: There are direct buses to and from the hotel from New Chitose Airport and Sapporo. The bus stop is only about 50 metres from the hotel entrance, which made walking in the snow much easier for us. However, the service runs only once a day, so be sure to check the schedule and plan your itinerary accordingly."

"The room is simple, but it has everything you need and is very clean. If you’re driving, you can stop in front of the café to unload your luggage, and the staff will guide you to the parking area. It’s a bit far, but still acceptable, especially since you’ll most likely not need to drive again until check-out once the car is parked. You can also use your room card to enjoy free access to the onsen at Dai-ichi Takimotokan across the street. Dai-ichi truly lives up to its reputation as one of the best hot springs. Just step out of the hotel and you’re already in the onsen street, and Noboribetsu Hell Valley is within walking distance as well. There are also plenty of restaurants nearby. I would definitely choose this hotel again the next time I visit Noboribetsu. The photo shows the view from the hotel’s main entrance. It is located directly opposite Dai-ichi Takimotokan."

"First time stay in onsen ryotei. Very traditional room but huge! Even though it's old but quite well-maintained. My room comes with private onsen and it so worth it. I don't have to go to the public onsen and can dip into the onsen tub anytime I want. Room amenities is very well equipped. Coffee machine and dessert plus drinks are complimentary. Staff will go into your room during dinner time to prepare your futon or tatami bed. The room comes with kaiseki dinner and breakfast. Both are good especially the dinner. It's like fine dining with 10 courses. All taste magnificent and very good. Staff is very attentive too by explaining every dish served in a private room. I enjoyed the stay and food very much! Well worth money spent! This hotel located a bit deep end and public transport a bit difficult from the KTX station to the ryotei so please take a cab to and fro. That's the easiest way and the hotel staff can help to book for cab back to the KTX station too."

"The ryokan was quite charming with lots of Japanese accents and architectural details. We signed up for one traditional breakfast and loved the experience. We loved the yukata outfits provided to schlep around the ryokan or even around town. The location was a bit of a walk going to the business/food/shop road but this only got a bit inconvenient when we had to drag our suitcases for about 10 minutes getting to the bus stop on our way back to the train station... thank goodness it was downhill all the way! Noboribetsu Onsen was a really cool place to visit!"

"Este ryokan japonês tradicional possui um ônibus privado e está localizado a cerca de 8 minutos a pé da estrada principal com restaurantes e 20 minutos da entrada para Jigokudani (Vale do Inferno). O interior é bem mantido no estilo clássico, com pavimento tatami em todas as áreas comuns e quartos de hóspedes, que são equipados com camas confortáveis de futon. As quartos são limpos, espaçosos e bem equipados com acomodações.Tudo o que não está disponível pode ser retirado Da seleção perto da recepção.Os hóspedes recebem um yukata para usar em torno do ryokan e para o onsen. As bebidas complementares estão disponíveis na recepção, embora lhes peçam que você goste delas EM SUA sala, em vez de em áreas comuns. "From Noboribetsu train station, take a bus bound for Ashiyu Iriguchi & take off at the last stop which is in front of the hotel. Bus only accept cash or physical credit card (no IC card). Around 15 mins walk to Jigokudani & centre area. Have free shuttle to Bear Park. Breakfast & dinner is buffet style with lots of choices. The Japanese Western room is spacious, has 2 beds and tatami area. Onsen on the 7/F (outdoor & indoor) and 8/F (indoor only). Overall experience GOOD."

"Nice place that is super near the train station. Will need to take a bus to get to the popular spots like Hell valley, but it’s convenient since the bus stops is nearby. The room is clean and cosy. Common area is rather large as well. Breakfast is basic with bread and cereal, nothing to shout about. Great for solo travellers"

"The location was good and we can park our car in the hotel:s covered car park. It was a great arrangement with snowy weather. The rooms were huge with large sofa and lounge. The bedroom areas were very spacious as well. The in-room Onsen was a great treat. Very spacious for two adults. Relaxing on the Onsen watching the snow flowing down in the beautiful scenery was surely the best experience. The staff are excellent, very polite and helpful. The food was good and see the chefs: details. Excellent stay and enjoy all the time there."
