Their passion and warmth are everywhere. Haibo is a professional photographer and an incredible cook – every meal he prepared for us was fresh, seasonal, and absolutely delicious. Lixia is just as amazing: super energetic, thoughtful, and incredibly talented behind the camera. They also have the sweetest dog named One Two Three – a patient and gentle soul who quickly became our favorite companion. She joined Lixia in accompanying us around the village and along the ancient trails, adding even more joy to our walks. What truly blew us away was the photography and videos Lixia made for us. While we explored, she quietly captured the most beautiful shots of us among the old stone houses and ancient trails. At the end of our stay, she surprised us with two wonderfully edited short videos that perfectly captured the joy and laughter of our weekend. Yi Yuan Village is a quaint, peaceful and authentic hideaway in the mountains, away from the tourist crowds that cause chaos further down the valley back towards Song Yang City. It has a few homestays, ours at Yi Yin being the best and most recently opened. The host family (Ceng) is generous and hospitable, friendly, polite and helpful. Rooms were spotless and clean, nicely furnished and easy to reach, nearer the entrance to the village. All meals were freshly made with home-made or locally sourced ingredients, very tasty! They helped us arrange several day trips with an excellent driver (Xiao Bao) whom I also highly recommend. He can be contacted through the host family; he is popular, so I would suggest you request his services once you have confirmed your stay at Yi Yin. Yi Yin is well placed for visiting the surrounding area; there is daily, regular public transport to and from the village and surrounding countryside.

Yuanpu Guesthouse is without a doubt a must book! Staying here was an absolute highlight of our trip - an incredible building with historic architectural details, thoughtful furnishing, the most beautifully plated breakfasts, an unbeatable location, and the warmest staff (who generously offered tours and pointers and made sure we were never without food and drink :) ). Will miss sitting and chatting over tea with the hotel staff so much and look forward so much to returning!!

We had a amazing time here. We arrived by taxi in the village (which is beautiful) and got a beautiful room. The host and his family are really friendly. They showed us the surrounding and we ate together. In the area are a lot of beautiful old buildings and also some moderne buildings (tofu factory and rice wine factory). We felt like a part of the village and loved to stay here!
