Hotéis Mountain view em Guiyang

Would definitely stay here again, I had a great view from my room, and the building is tall enough that you can see pretty far out. The breakfast was up to par for CN standards, had a made to order noodle bar. Very comfortable and spacious overall, not just the room, but common areas as well, (oh and they have good coffee with a selection of Monin syrup and a variety of quality tea bags, self-serve in the lobby 24/7). They also had free laundry/dryer at the 3/f, with detergent. On the second night of a 2 night stay, there was torrential rainfall throughout the night, including thunder and lightning; the power went out twice in the whole area, at least several city blocks; there basically wasn’t anything the hotel could do about it. But all the emergency backup lighting and signage were all working properly, both in the room and in the hallway, so that was surely good. 小周 at the front desk was quite helpful and sincere, props to them, they were also super apologetic about the power outage (even though it was in no way their fault). Great stay!

I had recently come on a holiday to the city and stayed here for 4 nights. The first 2 nights were well and without issue. On the last night, i was unfortunate enough to encounter a rat in my room. It had managed to escape through a hole under the sink and I was told that all rooms had this feature when I was requesting for a replacement room. Even the replacement had issues as the wifi did not have connectivity which caused their smart room functions to not work all the way till checkout. Also, rooms do not have a line to the front desk and communication with them is only through wechat. As such, it will be difficult for travelers who do not know mandarin to have a quick response to issues easily. I encountered my room key to not be able to open my room almost every afternoon and had to face the inconvenience of either going to the front desk or waiting for the staff to come up to provide a replacement key, where both options took substantial time due to the slow lifts. Also, the gym was not in a good condition and the breakfast was plain and repetitive. I have to commend the hotel staff for their positive attitude and willingness to provide assistance whenever issues arose, but I felt they were let down by the infrastructure and setup and could only be apologetic a lot of the time. It is a new hotel, so hopefully they might be able to fix these teething issues and provide future guests with a more positive experience.

We stayed here for 1 evening as we had an early morning train. It was a little tricky finding the hotel- it’s in a large building that hosts many hotels. They are located on floors 19-25. It’s super convenient to the train station, about 10-15 min walk depending if you have a lot of luggage (across the large square outside the train station and through the underground passage). From the train station, the path is well marked and easy to follow. It’s also well lit at night. While there are plenty of restaurants around this area / hotel, we opted to go downtown for dinner, which was about 5 stops to the heart of the shopping/ eating area of Guiyang. The staff at the hotel were really helpful. Check-in was smooth and fast. At some point on our trip I lost my sun hoodie. They were incredibly helpful by checking their CCTV footage to see if I had brought it to the lobby and left it there by accident as I retraced where I had been. The room itself was really large and comfortable. Overall, for a 1 night stay, if you need to be close to the train station, you’re doing things more on the outskirts of downtown, or if you prefer to stay outside of the city to save a little bit of money, this is a good option.

Affordable, close to HSR. There’s decent decor in the lobby but the room itself is just OK. Note ride the elevator from -6 up to 15, but the rooms itself only accessible via 1 flight of stairs once reaching the 15th floor lobby. Room “met the standard” for non-smoking although there was ashtray in the room. There is loud construction in the morning.

The hotel was clean and the service was great. We came in January, in the winter and you cannot control the heat in the individual rooms. It is run by a common heating system. So it was very very hot, so hot I sweat through the night. The only other negative, for a high quality hotel, the bar closes at 10:00pm. So when we arrived about 10:00 in the evening, it was too late to have a night cap.

We booked this hotel as a last-minute Chistmas Eve getaway. At a total cost of 840 rmb, it was a bit of a splurge. It was totally worth it. Let's start with the bathtub. I am 6'4” (193 cm), 150kg, and I love a good bath. This bathtub is a small pool. You can see in the photo that I was stretched out with room to spare. Then there is the view, I love Guiyang at night, and it looked so cool with the fog and the lights. The sitting area by the windows was so pleasant with a couple glasses of wine (provided with the room) . Honestly, you can find the rest of the room amenities in other hotels, but you are hard pressed to find a view or a tub like this anywhere. I also found the service to be extremely helpful. My Chinese is poor, so the hostess who checked us in created a wechat group so that I could translate things and make any requests of the front desk staff. They were very responsive and helpful. Overall, this was an excellent stay, and I will most likely book this room every couple of months as a mini vacation for the wife and I.

Greentree Eastern Hotel is the largest airport hotel in Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport, located at AC Park. It has four towers. Check-in is at the fourth tower. I thank the receptionist for reserving an aircraft-flying-view room at the third tower. Focal length of an aircraft taking off from Guiyang is 200mm to 400mm above. I choose to stay at Greentree Eastern Hotel because the hotel does not charge room key deposit and it is the newest airport hotel opposite the Guiyang airport Terminal 3. I also want to test plane-spotting at this hotel. Besides, the nearest place to enjoy lunch and dinner is of less than one minute walk from the hotel, also at AC Park, and I get to enjoy extremely cheap Guizhou cuisine. I am very happy that I have selected the right airport hotel. During my vacation at Greentree Eastern Hotel, two incidents happened. Firstly, the receptionist told me that to print my boarding passes, I need to forward the online boarding passes via WeChat for the hotel to print the boarding pass. However, I explained to the receptionists that I have difficulties in using WeChat after registering an account. One of the receptionists helped me forward one boarding pass to his email address and from his email address to the hotel printer on Friday. I got the first online boarding pass in black and white. On Saturday morning, I attempted the same but the other receptionst-on-duty refused to help me. The other incident is at the hotel restaurant Bellagio (鹿港小镇). There is no restaurant staff to take the breakfast vouchers. Therefore, many guests have taken advantage of eating breakfast at the restaurant for free and before 7.30 am, many breakfast items were snapped up. I hope that Greentree Eastern Hotel can provide better printing service and enforce the rule that a restaurant staff should be at the reception desk of the restaurant to collect the breakfast vouchers. Other than the above, I will stay here again for plane-spotting purpose if necessary.

The hotel is in the location which has many eating houses, and other amenities. It has a free shuttle service from the Train station to and fro the hotel however, an advance booking is required. The hotel staff is so friendly and helpful, and they even went extra miles to help me look for the body and foot massage parlour for me. They even suggest the alternative way to go the different places of interest to save money for me. Initially I was intending to stay one night only, at the end I stayed for 5 nights straight!! If I would come back again I would stay in this hotel again.
