This hotel is near Bocconi University, in a residential area that's a bit off the beaten path from the city center. The room I stayed in was good – large, clean, and nicely set up, with a big bathroom and an excellent shower. But, there's a hitch with those tiny plastic toiletries. Hotels really need to step up their game and drop these for something more eco-friendly. Also, there were no tea or coffee-making facilities in the room, which was inconvenient, especially with no bar in the hotel to grab a quick cup. The breakfast is served in a windowless basement room. The staff there are super friendly, but the food selection leans heavily towards cakes and sweet pastries, with not many healthy options. The biggest downside for me was the lighting – the hotel, including my room, the lobby, and other common areas, was just too dark, barely any natural light getting in. Overall, while Hotel d'Este has its positives, especially in room comfort, it falls short in some areas that could enhance the guest experience.
