The hotel was tidy, and I like the location and view. The cathedral next to it is very beautiful. And the location is not too far from the airport, so it is suitable.

The attitude and professionalism of the reception would have gone a long way towards making us feel welcome upon arrival (notwithstanding the state of the room and the missing advertised amenities). The receptionist tried to cheat us out of additional money because we could not produce a booking confirmation with the amount in the local MZN currency (our booking was done in ZAR). But the worst was the state of the room. It clearly had not been used in a while and nobody tried to prepare it for new guests. The room was filthy... We found huge dead roaches (clearly from some tind of pesticide they have been using). We could hear the live roaches (or something even worse) running in the skirting at night. The bathroom (and the whole room, in general) did not look like it had been cleaned since the last guest - there were dried-up stains on the bathroom floor, shower, etc. There was only one set of ”clean” towels (which we were too afraid to use), and a number of the advertised amenities simply did not exist or were not available (we were told that the ”free wi-fi” had not worked in months. We had paid for breakfast to be included during our 2-day stay, but we could not bring ourselves to even consider eating their food - I shudder to think what the state of the kitchen much be like.

Let's be clear up front: this isn't a European five-star hotel. But what it is, is a neat and clean place to stay if you're in town for business. It's fairly close to the airport and city centre, and has a decent bar to have a couple of drinks and meet people. Dinner was an unexpected highlight: it was a fixed buffet, instead of a la carte, but the baked whole fish with boiled potatoes and vegetables was one of the best things I've eaten in a long time.

The hotel is 8 kilometers from the airport ✈️, 1.5 kilometers from the Maputo train station. 500 meters from the seaside, you can see the sea on the hotel balcony. There is a good Japanese restaurant on foot 450 meters away. Try it. 1200 Mo coin. Eat sushi casually.

After I moved in, I found that the provided Wi-Fi can only connect to two devices. If there are more, they can’t connect. The exterior and lobby are very nice and the location is ok. There are 2 very slow, very small, sometimes functioning elevators. The rooms need work, see photos. Chunks of bathroom tile missing, 3 out of 4 bulbs in bedside lights missing and fixtures broken, there was obviously some kind of flood from the bathroom that wrecked the plywood flooring. I'm gluten and dairy free so didn't trust any of the handful of things on the room service menu, some of our friends did and the reviews went from mediocre to inedible. There's apparentIy some sort of breakfast but after asking the staff in the cafeteria a couple of times if we could order something and being told no (at 7:50am, breakfast is advertised as being at 7:30), we went out for breakfast, which seems to be the smart move. If you just need something no frills to sleep for a night it did seem like the beds were clean but the water pressure in the shower is a luke warm trickle. Set your expectations and it's fine as a place to sleep for a night, but I wouldn't stay longer.

The service staff is friendly, the environment is quiet, the access is convenient, suitable for small stays. The surrounding facilities are complete, facing the sea, there is a fish market nearby, a rare experience.

Booked in by my company on a layover in Maputo. When we checked in we were told the elevator was broken and our rooms were on the 11th floor !! Room was was very shabby. Broken window, mould in the bathroom, broken wall sockets NO toilet paper. Not worth the $83 charged for the over night stay and in fact would never stay here again. WiFi was terrible and hardly able to connect. Would not recommend this place, nothing in this place relates to VIP !!! Avoid it.
