Hotel Waldrand

Perfect location - a close walk to town but very quiet with spectacular views. The staff was friendly and accommodated our every need. The breakfasts were delicious with farm fresh eggs and local cheeses and meats. The room was immaculate!

Quiet, clean room with a spectacular view towards the mountains. A few minutes walk from the railway and bus stations. A few good restaurants not far from the hotel - including a good restaurant in the hotel itself (indoors or out on the terrace). Good choice of options from the breakfast buffet. Pleasant staff. Children and animals welcome. Good quality/price relation. A couple of very minor negatives: Quite a lot of flies (but fly swats everywhere available). The on-line restaurant restaurant menu did not correspond to the actual menu - not that the actual menu was any worse - just different.

Fantastic location, ***immaculately clean*** rooms, large hotel room, jaw dropping views, friendly & professional customer service, great resto with delicious food and a "life's best" view, and a life memory making experience of the drive up. What more could you ask for? Value for value, of the best hotels we've ever been to, period.

Nice cosy rooms. Very tidy. Great beds. Wonderful view. Also good chairs to sit and read a book in and good lights to read bed. Real Swiss style interior with woodwork etc. Great restaurant where we had nice meals with are whole family every night. Breakfast very nice as well with broad range of cereals, fruit, cheese meat and excellent choice of fresh teas. Staff very friendly and forthcoming, never have to wait long to be served. Very good with the kids as well All in all Waldrand was a great base for a very relaxing and sportive skiing holiday with kids ranging from 7 to 16.

We stayed there for 2 weeks and we where completely satisfied. The room looked renovated with lot's of wood. We even had a balcony where we could sit outside and watch into the mountains. Even the room was a bit small (Nothing to complain as we know it when booked it :-) we still liked it a lot. With all the flowers and wood from the outside it is really a nice Hotel. Breakfast was also fine, very good fresh bread, chees, ham, eggs, whatever is needed to have a good start into the day. And the stuff immediately refilled empty trays on the buffet. Also the stuff is very friendly and helpful. A very nice Hotel for the cost

We stayed for a couple of nights at the Waldrand with the entire family. We had a room under the roof that was very tight and low ceiling. It seems to be of age and not very well thought through. It was clean. The bathroom and shower are very suboptimal. The staff is friendly, the owners not necessarily. The restaurant food was of good quality but with limited taste (bring salt and peper). All in all we were disappointed - there is no flair at the hotel and it seem to lack maintenance. There are better choices in Lenk.

Nicht sehr hilfreich sind die schlechten Kommentare, die ich absolut NICHT bestätigen kann. Die Pächter haben vor ca. 1.5 Jahren gewechselt, das haben wir in einem Gespräch mit Barbara herausgefunden. Welche das Hotel nun führt. Arthur ist der Koch der die Küche absolut im Griff hat. Das ganze Team ist super nett. Die Küche ist fantastisch, trotz hoher Auslastung kam das Essen zügig. Es war so lecker!! Auch für Kinder immer alles frisch sogar die Chicken Nuggets selber gemacht. Nicht 0815 aus dem Beutel. Frühstück ist tip top und es hat alles was man braucht. Kaffeemaschine für verschiedene Kaffees, Ovo und verschiedene Tees. Wie hatten das Familienzimmer Superior Alpenchic. Das Zimmer (Elternschlafzimmer, Kinderzimmer und Stube) war modern und sehr grosszügig mit grossem Balkon mit Aussicht und im Zimmer mit Nespressomaschine ausgestattet. Zimmer wurde immer gut gereinigt und Handtücher nach eigenem Bedarf gewechselt. Da es ein Holzhaus ist hört man manchmal die Tritte von Oben, war aber absolut nicht schlimm und normal für das Haus. Es hat eine Art Aufenthaltsraum mit Spielzeug, Lesesesseln, Büchern und einer Minibar mit Snacks zur Selbstbedienung mit einem Kässeli. Der kostenlose Parkplatz ist auch vorhanden den wir immer beim Schopf genutzt haben. Vor dem Haus gibt es auch. Da kann man direkt oben rein mit den Koffern. Kein Lift, aber die paar Treppen kann man gut hochlaufen. Alles im Dorf zu erreichen zu Fuss oder mit Bus. Unsere Kinder haben gerne Schach gespielt im Garten und fühlten sich im familiären Hotel sehr wohl! Es gibt einen Skikeller, den haben wir aber nicht benutzt da wir ein Locker gemietet hatten bei der Bergstation. Kurz gesagt: vielen Dank für die herzliche Gastfreundschaft und wir kommen bestimmt wieder! Ob zum Essen (was man auch kann ohne Hotelgast zu sein) oder zum Übernachten. :-) Hotel mit Charme!

Keine Ersatzrolle WC Papier. Musste im Restaurant auf die Toilette gehen. Sehr kleines Zimmer, kaum Platz und Staumöglichkeit für Gepäck. Darum Uebernachtungspreis zu hoch. Das Bett für ältere Person extrem tief. Lage, Personal und Frühstück war erstklassig.

Mooi gelegen op de bergflank, met mooi zicht op de vallei, op wandelafstand van het centrum van Lenk. Wij hadden een zeer ruime familiekamer met 2 slaapkamers, living en ruim terras met prachtig uitzicht! Erg vriendelijke gastvrouw. Uitgebreid ontbijtbuffet, inclusief gerookte zalm en verschillende lekkere kaassoorten, zeer uitgebreid assortiment van thee, lekkere koffie automaat, … Ook het 4-gangenmenu is telkens lekker en voldoende! Wanneer men iets niet zou lusten, kan een aanpassing worden voorzien. Fijn terras om buiten te eten. Aan het terras lopen leuke geitjes rond, gelukkig worden ze ‘s avonds rustig zodat hun belletjes ophouden met rinkelen… Goede bedden. Leuk ligbad met sterrenhemel! De ramen hebben een prima geluidsisolatie. Voor de liefhebbers vlak aan gemeentelijk zwembad gelegen, verder ook op wandelafstand van beide beschikbare kabelbanen, gratis te gebruiken met Simmentalpas, ook locale bus gratis te gebruiken! Voor ons ruim zijn 3 sterren waard!
