Boutique Hotel Catshuis

Loved this hotel! The room was spacious, very clean and modern with a massive bathroom. The location was perfect, walking distance from everywhere in Leeuwarden we wanted to go to, and seconds walk from loads of bars and restaurants and shops (and overlooking the canal). There was also the Oldehove car park about 3 mins walk and the Zaailand car park about 5 mins walk (both 10 euro per day). The Zaailand had staff on duty what seemed all the time and so if you’re worried about leaving your car, go to Zaailand. The room was well sound proofed so we heard no noise at all, despite being very central. They had Rituals diffusers scattered around which made the whole place smell wonderful. The Fire cafe next door (where you collect your keys) had a great atmosphere and very friendly and helpful staff and we also had our breakfast here, which was nice. The only slight negatives (am only adding so you have a full picture) is that the rooms were up 2 very steep flights of stairs and there is no lift. It was a bit hair raising with our big suitcase. So if you have walking difficulties this is probably not the place for you. Also the bathrooms are wet rooms and the way it’s set out the toilet area gets wet if you have a shower (which I hate!) Lastly the staff all belong to the Fire cafe next door and consequently there are no staff on site after closing time (between 11-12) until 830. I felt a little uneasy about this, although of course it was fine on our visit. Overall though it was a fabulous stay in a fabulous room with friendly staff to help.

A beautifully renovated building with luxurious style, this genuinely is a boutique place to stay. A spacious and airy bedroom with large en-suite shower room, there’s space to work, relax and sleep. Breakfast is amazing value at under €15 - a feast that’s freshly prepared and presented in the Fire Café next door (there’s an indoor route between the two buildings, served by staff who are friendly and very helpful - perfect.

We loved our stay in the Catshuis. The location is fantastic. The room is very spacious and beautifully decorated. I loved it that we had to check in next door in the cafe. The staff was very friendly and helpful and carried our heavy bag upstairs. The breakfast next door was delicious. You can basically get anything you want. Overall the stay was one of our highlights on our trip and we will come back one day.

Great boutique hotel in central area of Leeuwarden. Walkable to most tourist areas and train station.

Prachtige hotelkamer met een heerlijk bed. Grote ruime badkamer, alles fris en super schoon. Gastvrije ontvangst bij naastgelegen eetcafé Fire met super vriendelijke bediening. Bij beter weer een gezellig terras aan het water in het mooie Leeuwarden.

Ons huwelijksfeest er gevierd en v.d bruidssuite gebruik gemaakt! Wat een feest! Wat een toplocatie is deze oude brandweerkazerne (middenin het centrum) met super vriendelijk personeel! Het eten was ook in een woord FANTASTISCH! Erg genoten van alle comfort vd bruidssuite! Iedereen die dit voor ons mogelijk heeft gemaakt ontzettend bedankt!

Prachtige kamer op top locatie! Bedden liggen goed, ruim genoeg, prima badkamer en gastvrij personeel. Het enige nadeel kan de deur naar de badkamer zijn. Dit is een schuifdeur gemaakt van een soort lamellen waardoor je alsnog alles ziet en hoort. Mocht je elkaar nog niet goed kennen, dan kan dat ongemakkelijk zijn.

Wij waren zeer tevreden. Prettige en aardige bediening. Gezellig eetcafe (fire). Mooie ruime en schone kamer cq badkamer. Prima bed. Ontbijt vanaf 08.30 is een beetje laat. Voor ons was dit geen probleem. Als je zakelijk zou overnachten is het te laat.

Het pand ziet er geweldig uit,is schoon en gezellig. We zijn heel warm ontvangen en bediend tijdens ons verblijf. En het ontbijt was geweldig! Groetjes Erik en Bernadet
