Apar**ents are up the hill which is a good walk or you can get a taxi for about €3.50. Plenty of taxis about. Very basic apar**ents but they do include everything you need. you need to request fresh towels the day in advance. There is a laundrette on site which charges €5 per wash, also a dryer for around same price. Beds not the greatest so Don’t expect a comfortable sleep but you get what you pay for!

Very suitable for parent-child vacation, the hotel has arranged a lot of programs from morning to night. The design details of the hotel are super beautiful and ubiquitous, perfect African style. There are 9 swimming pools, you can definitely find the place you want to lie down and relax. There is a long row of shopping festivals and small restaurants at the entrance of the hotel. The Tujiu restaurant is the most authentic and delicious. The Chinese boss behind the scenes is super enthusiastic about us every time we eat After sending a large glass of wine, take a 7-minute taxi ride from the center of the dunes

Spent 4 nights at Bluebay Beach Club across the back end of November. Overall I wouldnt say it was a bad holiday. You pay for a cheap holiday, you get a cheap holiday. There are a few things I would change or update. Firstly the rooms definately are outdated, so dont be suprised with them. TV socket was hanging from the wall not secured properly, however the view overlooking the sea is brilliant and its a huge balcony too. Youre hardly going to spend much time in the rooms anyway, but it would be nice if a bit more time and money were invested into them. The rooms are big, completely seperate bedroom to the living room, with a kitchen that has everything you need. Dishwasher, oven, toaster, big fridge. So if you want to cook in your rooms its easy. Television we had to pay to get the international channels. It was €10 for 3 nights that we took, you could do less or more depending what you wanted. Also had to pay for a safe which is €4.50 per night. This was frustrating though because you shouldn't have to pay extra for a safe or to have tele seperately, Im sure most would agree that youd much rather have both of these included, but have it charged within the cost of the holiday itself so you dont see it. Would make much more sense just to increase the price of staying at the hotel by £50 per package and have that cover the costs of the safe and television. Customers would appreciate that alot more. The hotel is right next to a little airport so you do get a few planes going over to land or take off. Didnt bother me at all, but its something to be aware of. This only happens during the day and it isnt constantly happening, and it isnt overnight or early in the morning There is a shop downstairs on site so you can get all your basic needs there. Water, juice, bread, snacks, shower gel etc for the room. No chemist though. For the chemist you have to go out the hotel. Because we know the area very well, we was getting taxis down to one of the better beaches by San Agustin shopping centre, which was a 5 minute taxi drive and cost €7 there, and then €7 back. The food in the restaurant wasnt too bad. Get your mix of pizzas chips, some nights, others its fish, chicken rice. You do have to pay for drinks when having your dinner though! This was annoying because again its a hidden cost you dont expect. Again, itd be better to just charge this against the overall cost of the hotel so you dont see it, but you get it. Our room was quite high up so we didnt see any cockroachs at all in the room, but it was a bit of a walk to the reception. We did happen to stay next to a noisy parrot though which was a shame. Not the hotels fault, nothing they can do about a neighbour who has a parrot out. It would sometimes be noisy middle of the night so if youre a light sleeper you would wake up, but it does stop and go quiet for hours on end and it wasnt every single night that it made noise Pool area is really nice with lots of sun loungers and places to sit. The hotel is situated centrally at the top of Gran Canaria and as such has staggering beautiful panoramas from both its rooms and public areas. It is in a unique and unforgettable position close to a large number of well sign posted walks (most will need either a car or taxi to access) The hotel has been recently renovated and modernised to a high standard. Our superior room was in the original building, was spotlessly clean, well furnished and quiet. The view from its very large balcony was stunning) Be prepared for rapid weather variations as cloud blows in and out, temperatures can drop dramatically and it can be both sunny and hot and foggy and cold on the same day! Service in the restaurant can be erratic although the food quality is very good. The Spa is quite basic and, we felt, somewhat over priced. This hotel is ‘an experience’ and amongst the most memorable, for good reasons, we have ever stayed in.

I arrived at Castillo in the early evening of October 2nd 2023 as a solo traveller. Having left home some 8 hours previously, I felt tired , hungry , and thirsty and was therefore looking forward to being welcomed to my apartment quickly and efficiently as a holidaymaker. Instead I found myself face to face with a surly and charmless young man who ran through the check in procedure in a bored and disinterested fashion before thrusting a grainy and badly photocopied map into my hand in order to find my apartment myself amongst hundreds of similar white bungalows in the complex At this point I might add I’m the only traveller checking in at that point. Some 45 minutes later I find my apartment after walking round the complex umpteen times , if the check in guy had removed himself from behind the desk and simply pointed to a gate 50 yards up the road all this could have been avoided. The apartment was tired looking , sagging curtains , broken sofa bed , the main beds were uncomfortable metal frame affairs with a mismatched wooden headboard jammed up between them and the walls No air con , simply antiquated ceiling fans/lights which were hard to figure out to keep running without the lights on. Kitchenette appallingly equipped . Something scuttles when I open a cupboard Blocked drains emitting foul odours in the bathroom The roads around the complex are shocking , featuring broken manhole covers , broken electrical boxes , discarded rubbish lying around , and oh watch out for cars randomly crossing your path without warning from the strange little mini roundabouts which allow cars to zoom in front of people in a pedestrian zone. Also beware the electric scooters hacking around everywhere I think I had 3 room service visits in a fortnight , and despite paying for late checkout on my last day I then had a cleaner wondering why I was still there at 12 , I had to google the words paid late check out to get rid of her , obviously someone hadn’t done their job! Finally if you come here and are not particularly fit , it’s approximately 1 1/4 miles to the nearest beach , despite saying beach resort and a steep uphill climb on the return I’m sure Castillo will give the standard reply to this review , but you need to revamp your rooms , employ staff that are good with people , repair your roads , look after your grounds properly , including using the irrigation system in order to avoid the eyesore of dead plants everywhere, last but not least some general information given to guests and proper signage around the place would greatly help!

We returned to our favourite hotel in Gran Canaria again to escape the miserable UK weather and found yet again it is like going home except with sunshine. The staff as usual were attentive and helpful where needed. The only disappoin**ent was the relaxation of dress code in the evening whereby gentlemen are now allowed to wear shorts, this I am told was brought on to RIU by TUI to my mind its a retrograde step in a 5 star hotel, what next vests , football shirts , baseball caps back to front . I will make my feeling know to TUI as this is a slippery slope which only goes one way. We choose this class of hotel to exclude diminishing standards.

Book a package for two meals, the buffet dinner is good, that is, you need to order extra drinks, the hotel swimming pool is very large, the room is large, the room is large, the lobby can rent a car for self-help, especially convenient, there are many cactus in the hotel, away from the special The famous desert walks more than 10 minutes, and it’s awesome to run along the coastline in the morning.

We stayed at the Sheraton for our anniversary in 2023 and was so impressed that we booked a second stay in April 24. Customer service is second to none throughout the hotel compared with other hotels. Special mention to Elena and Tom who exceeded our expectations in actioning our personal requests. We stayed in a garden room which gave us easy access to the hotel's fabulous outdoor areas, the room was refreshed daily and the beds were so comfy. Large bathroom with a bath and separate walk in shower which gave a powerful supply of water. The heated swimming pool was just the right temperature and you could always find a sun lounger and shade. We stayed B&B this year which gave us the opportunity to try a few local restaurants however by far the best meal was at the hotel's Asian themed restaurant. The breakfast buffet is excellent with lots of choice including a good selection of bread, meats, and smoked salmon, washed down with a glass of cava . The hot breakfast buffet served the best grilled pork sausage outside of the UK ! Entertainment in the piano bar each evening was excellent and although our children are grown up, there was additional entertainment for the young ones. Already planning a return visit, possibly November and/or March to celebrate our birthdays.

We took a holiday away to a favourited location of ours, Lanzarote and decided to stay at the AEQUORA suites as it looked professional and relaxing enough to get away from stress. However little did we know a stress free holiday was going to become more stressful. One night as we were coming back from a walk towards the sea front, my mother used one of the ”disabled friendly” access ramps. She fell backwards on property of the hotel and has now become even more disabled with issues to walk and pelvis problems. She got an MRI at our local hospital yesterday and has confirmed that she has dislodged discs in her spine with nerve issues due to the fall, on a ramp that was supposed to be disable friendly. We spoke to one of the management who was lovely, but tried to blame the local Lanzarote council for the ramp and the fall. However the fall happened on the grounds and they're not willing to take responsibility for the incident. We were told to go to the hospital in Lanzarote but my mother declined as she has spent so much time in hospital recently and wanted a break. Not only did the fall happen once, but TWICE!!! Can't really label this hotel being disabled friendly if all it does is make the disabled, more disabled. Another problem we encountered was discrimination from the staff at AEQUORA, this doesn't apply to everyone but specifically the female assistant manager. With my mother being bound to a wheelchair for long distance and a walking stick for short distance because she has walking issues, we wanted to sit at a double table made for four, but only three of us were attending that table. We needed a bigger table and a quieter walk way so my mother doesn't get knocked and has a fall (Common occurrence here). However we were approached by a rude assistant manager who started saying how we weren't allowed to sit here and had to sit at a small 2 person table for 3 in a area with a lot of footfall, a tripping hazard for my mother and even my elderly grandfather. Me and my grandfather tried to explain to her that we needed to sit at a four person table (even though there is 3 of us) due to my mothers disability, which she rudely ignored and started putting her finger in me and my grandfathers face then ignored us and started talking down to my mother. For which my mother couldn't stick up for herself due to not having a voice at the minute due to medical reasons. I couldn't believe my eyes after the amount we have paid to come here, and the labels this hotel establishes itself with. After both these incidents we spoke our concerns to the Guest experience manager who was incredible. He gave us a table for 4 for us 3, and had a technician to come repair my mothers wheelchair temporarily which has now fully fallen apart due to the falls which occurred on site at the AEQUORA suites. I think this hotel is great for kids and families as long as there is no disabilities. Which is quite disappointing to see as you would think most places would be no

The service was excellent, both in reception and restaurant, but the services in the facility were a bit unfavorable in the sense that personally, as I was with my pregnant wife, I had a room on the lowest floor the first day, everything was fine because there is an elevator, but The rest of the days they had them out of service, which in a place like that I think can't go wrong. The gym was a bit poor and the only machine that it had did not work well, the impossible parking on the second day was that I was able to get one and pay it to the hotel, when you go to make a reservation you will see a buffet breakfast option for €4 that does not exist lol. The rest all good. I think that services such as the elevator should be guaranteed to keep them in optimal conditions. For the rest all good.
