Everything you could wish for. Very, very lovely hosts and staff. The Guesthouse ist modern, very clean, a wonderful view. It meets the highest demands. Wow, wow wow! Please don’t stay in knysna proper stay here. It’s so easy and affordable to get into town or a quick drive. This property is beyond amazing. Mark and every single person from his team went over and above anything I could have ever expected. They have a lovely bar area with a breathtaking view where you can mingle with other guests or take a glass back to a large comfortable room with lots of space. There is no detailed missed and the food is excellent. We will be back.

Amazing place, the views of the lagoon are to die for. Loved waking up every morning to that view. The room we stayed in was huge and spotlessly clean. Adele, mark and their wonderful team are so welcoming and helpful. Suggesting places to visit, booking excellent restaurants for evening meals on our behalf. I honestly wouldn't hesitant to book again. Thank you for a wonderful memory

My family and I (4 of us), all adults spent an awesome 6 nights in selwyn and diamond suites, which are the most luxurious and yet comfortable rooms we ever stay in anywhere in South Africa. The views are to die for. Mark, Adele and their staff make everyone so very welcome and at ease and go 110% to ensure your stay and visit to the area is ‘the best’. They will book any restaurants and activities you wish to partake in, and even help with bookings in other areas of South Africa with their vast knowledge of the South African travel industry. We will be back again in December and look forward to the wonderful breakfasts and banter with all the amazing staff.

From the moment we arrived at the hotel we were greeted by the warm and ever helpful staff at Kanonkop House. Our room was beautiful overlooking the lagoon. What a view to start the day with! We loved the decor of the whole hotel. Would not change a thing! Breakfasts were particularly special also overlooking the lagoon. There was a variety of food and efforts were made by the personable hostess to cater to any preferences. We really valued her insights and recommendations for what to do around the Garden Route. The hotel is perfectly situated along the Garden Route to get to not only Kynsna but Plettenberg Bay and Mossel Bay. What sets the boutique hotel apart is the personal touch from Mark, Adele and the full Kanonkop team!

On the top of the hill, with a magnificent panoramic view on Knysna lagoon, the Heads. Beautiful and classy decoration, extreme comfort of the bed, friendly welcome and attention from Mark, our host, as well as from the whole team, always willing to find a solution to problems (my wife strained her ankle and they found us the best doctors and clinic to take care of her). So comfortable that you wish you could have it as your home. Knysna in austral winter is very quiet, you have the whole place almost for yourself, and staying at Kanonkop GH is enforcing the quietness, relaxing ambiance, and serenity. Our second time in Knysna (1st in 1999), but if there is a 3rd, it will be there.

I recently stayed at Kanonkop Hotel, expecting a five-star experience as advertised, but was thoroughly disappointed. The hotel is extremely outdated; everything looks old and worn, far from the luxurious ambiance one would expect. The hot water supply was insufficient, making it difficult to shower. The breakfast was almost non-existent, lacking variety and quality. The room did not have heating, which made our stay quite uncomfortable, especially during colder nights. Additionally, the service was extremely poor and unprofessional, not at all reflective of a five-star establishment. This place is at best a two-star hotel, and the advertising on various platforms is completely misleading. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and high-quality stay. Avoid at all costs!

Had a wonderful 3 night stay at Kanonkop. Mark & Adele were perfect hosts, attentive, friendly and fun. They also organised a Braai one evening during our stay, which was excellent. The room was fabulous with stunning views over the lagoon and down to the ocean. We loved the "help yourself bar", although the staff were always around to help :) They had thoughtfully made a reservation at a local restaurant for us on our first night so we were covered. We will definitely return!

We stayed for a midweek break while driving the Garden Route, what a wonderful time we had Kanonkop Lodge. The friendly & helpful staff are always willing and happy to assist with all your requests, breakfast was scrumptious and Mark, Adel and their staff are an amazing team. The views of the Knysna lagoon go on forever and are amazing, pour yourself a cold one and sit and enjoy the view as the world goes by . Highly recommended
