Great hotel for visiting Kew gardens, only 5 minutes walk to Victoria gate entrance. Food was good, dinner and breakfast. Staff all friendly, local pub atmosphere with a pleasant restaurant area. We had room 4 which is first floor and has the balcony. No lifts in this hotel. Comfy bed, the room furniture can be best described as `rustic`however it serves its purpose . The bathroom is modern with good shower. Its a 30 minute walk to Richmond its shops and pubs by the river, 15 mins walk to Kew village itself, also has a few pubs/restaurants. There is a bus which runs to Richmond and Kew. The down side to the hotel is also its location being under the flight path to Heathrow airport, they have landing gear down as they fly over. Planes were landing until 11pm and started again about 6am. Nothing much the hotel can do about that. Also being a pub there was noise from the outdoor clientele until midnite and this was midweek. So stay up late or take ear plugs.

This hotel is good for the facility, which is good, especially the restaurant which is in the lobby, is very, delicious. But one thing is the location is not convenient that if you need to train station that you need to walk 10-15mins, and if you go to the London city centre approximately 45mins, so the tourism needs to focus on this point.

Love this hotel stay here every time we visit london. Rooms are a good size for a family of 4. I visit withHubby and both my 7year old and 4 year old. Excellent leisure facilities! Has a lovely swimming pool which always has a decent temperature alongside a sauna and a gym. Excellent changing rooms but found to be very cold when entering. This hotels has excellent staff working here and this visit was by far the best. I had a lovely warm Top class female named Priti check us out. Priti had very good humour and made us smile she was very helpful and mentioned we still had complimentary welcome drinks left on our room stay which we had before we left. Very professional and excellent communication skills from staff here. Attentive and very helpful never appear to be stressed. Go far and beyond. Keep up the good work. Can’t wait to stay on my next visit which will be in October term.

If you're looking for a hotel to visit London, this is not the one. To give you an idea : Piccadilly Circus is about 1.5 hours to walk and about 45 minutes by taxi (expensive) and, if you're lucky, about the same by public transport (a mixture of walking, bus and tube... and a pain!) That said, if you need a hotel in this particlar area – which is actually nearer to Fulham than Sloane Square, then you could do much worse. The welcome was genuinely warm and we were made to feel appreciated. Despite checking in the previous day via the Hilton app., no room could be allocated, so we had to check in again at the front desk. The check in staff was charming and efficient and her trainee status was not evident. Our 6th floor room, well away from the renovation noise on the 1st floor felt, however, like a downgrade from the 'Queen' room we'd booked, as it had a double bed in it (150cm) – like Hampton Inns, which Hilton class as 2 categories below Doubletree. For Diamond members – who can expect room upgrades “up to a one bedroom suite” - this could be a disappointment. Queen beds are usually 160cm, doubles 150cm. If this hotel is selling doubles as queens, then I personally think this is a bit naughty of them. Also, despite the hotel stating that their 1st floor renovation work does not start before 9 a.m., they do not mention that the massive building project which half-encircles the hotel, starts well before this time and is constant throughout the day and, by the look of things, is destined to last for a long time yet. The room was clean, the bed comfortable although narrow and, apart from a few stains, the room was adequat for a one or two night stay. I wouldn't like to stay longer, as the bathroom is even smaller than a Hampton Inn – there's nowhere to put a toilet bag and nowhere to hang used towels. The shower unit is the same style as in Hamptons but much smaller than most. The toilet seat was loose and so was 'interesting' when using it, several plug sockets in the room did not work and the a/c and TV turned themseves off several times during our stay. Otherwise the room was well designed, with enough mirrors, work surface, chair, safe etc. and fridge that gets things cold enough – if you are willing to wait about 18 hours, that is! Don't expect a good sleep – the doors are not sound-proofed and are paper-thin. Room doors are also constantly 'banging' shut due to the spring mechanism. The lobby bar is well stocked but has slighly frightening prices. We didn't try the restaurant – choosing a Middle-Eastern restaurant 5 minutes' walk away – but the food we saw looked to be well-presented and seemed to be of the fast food type. The breakfast was, to be totally frank, extremely disappointing. The quality was good but the choice was extremely poor for a Doubletree and, in comparison to the maybe 30 or 40 Doubletrees I've stayed in, is by far the worst breakfast 'spread' I've seen to date. I stayed here a couple of times but the last time was the last! I booked in and paid in advance then on the day, I checked in and offered my photo ID as I had done previously and it had been accepted before, however on this occasion I was refused check-in as they had now decided only a passport would be acceptable which I didn’t have. The unhelpful staff and then the manager offered no solution and just shrugged and said “nothing we can do”. It should again be noted that my photo ID was acceptable before but not now – it should also be noted that the confirmation email only requested “photo ID” which I provided. No specific ID was asked for. So it seems this hotel makes up the terms and condition s as they go and seemingly change them when they feel like it! The room had been paid for so there was no chance of my running off without paying. After some time I finally resolved this by my husband racing home and emailing a copy of the passport which was grudgingly accepted otherwise my I was looking at nowhere to stay after an early, start at 4 a.m., a very long day then finally the hopeless staff at this place refusing entry to a customer who had paid way in advance causing a lot of stress! The receptionist told me they needed the passport to verify the address – however my address is not in the passport so this is a bit confusing. The manager confirmed this as well as confirming no entry and no help. This is really terrible service as they could have easily verified the address with other documents I had but this was not accepted – my ID clearly showed me as senior management at a local large organisation but the staff were unhelpful and seemed totally disinterested that I would have nowhere to stay – this part of London gets booked quickly hence my booking way in advance so the likelihood of getting a room somewhere else was very remote. It would have been simple to verify me but the staff were more interested in being difficult. So my feeling is the staff had maybe screwed up with another customer and had decided to ad hoc changes to the terms leaving me almost stranded. It could also have been a method of releasing a room for someone else – maybe a friend of the hotel. Who knows but I would be very careful using this place as they seem to have some very dubious and “flexible” terms for staying here and you may get caught out. I will never book here again and as a vice president of a large global organisation that hosts many international clients, I would certainly not recommend this place. It's short sighted of this hotel to be so unhelpful as they will have lost business but their lack of help displays a clear lack of interest in the customer. Please book here if you are happy to risk sleeping on the park bench instead of a hotel room! No doubt the hotel will quote they have to have the passport but given it was not required a few weeks before and is not requested on the booking confirmation then decide for yourself. There was a

This hotel is set in lovely grounds the room was amazing with friendly staff. Unfortunately there was an event on which kept me awake with loud music I actually checked out early due to this. Spa facilities available with a charge on top of stay.

It was a good hotel with all the amenities in the hotel. The size of the rooms are pretty small but okay for an individual. best part about the hotel was the location, it is very close to Airport ( you can just hop on the london bus ).

The location is more than ten minutes walk from the train station Shop facilities and hygiene are acceptable Open outdoor environment There are fitness facilities, great! Courteous front desk staff However, the cooking utensils are poor and the frying pan is scratched and unfit for cooking.
