My cottage 830 is very inconvenient. On 8 and 9 Nov 2023, it is completely dark after 17:00 pm. On arrival at Karuizawa Station, I need to go to the Prince Shopping Plaza and take the free shuttle bus to the hotel front office. After checking in, I need to get a ticket and wait for the shuttle to take me to my room. There is free cottage shuttle every 15 minutes to take guests to the hotel front office. In that building, there are restaurants and a convenient shop.

The hotel is just a 5 minute walk from Karuizawa station. Take the north exit on the bridge/walkway after coming up from Shinkansen platform, it's the left. There's a tourist info with helpful people at the end of the corridor, and an escalator next to it. Once you come out, with your back to the station, walk straight down the road, and take left at the first traffic light, near the Shell station. The hotel is opposite Family Mart. Staff are friendly and helpful. Room was generous-sized with an ante-room which has a fridge, some storage cupboards and the main room is nice and big with a good-sized bed. They provide 2 bottles of water. You can take day trips to Naka Karuizawa, Shiraiito Falls among other destinations using the bus service outside the station. It's a lot easier if you have Suica card or you will need to carry many 1000 yen notes. On the way back you can you can stop off at Kyu Karuizawa and walk the streets of Old Ginza. It can also be reached by foot, takes about 25-30 minutes.

It's closer from the JR station and through the shopping mall. You also need to walk a certain distance while dragging the suitcase. And the room is the largest room I have stayed in in Japan this time except for hot spring hotels! There is a porch! The bed is big enough for two people and has a lot of space for activities. The toilet is not too narrow to turn around, because the price is very affordable on weekdays, less than 350. The beds are new and clean. Only near the toilet can I hear some noise from next door, but there is no sound. Because it is a single-family house, the windows are very bright. In addition, the space in the room is the air-conditioning fan under the TV. I don’t know if it is effective in summer or winter (the indoor temperature of the hotel is much higher than outside) All facilities and toiletries are Pola-labeled like those in Tokyo. The staff were also very nice. I arrived an hour early and let me in directly. They were able to store my luggage for the next day.

The front desk 竹村, on June 18th 10:50, she told us there’s no pick up service after check out (there is), without offering any assistance to deliver our bags to the station. We feel that the staffs are poorly trained when it comes to the hotel facility nor their communication skills. The hotel itself is highly enjoyable especially the hot spring! Everything is brand new and the surroundings are epic! I’m sorry to have to minus one star because of 竹村’s poor reaction to customers’ requests.

It was a one-night meal with an official reservation and the child was good with one coin. It is far from the outlet and the old Karuizawa and runs on the mountain road. It is in the back of the mountain and is quiet and nice. There are only guests at night. It is colder than the flat ground, so the jacket is good even in October. I applied for a red leaf cart tour at check-in. I will ride the golf course around the cart. It was very fun with quiz and photo spot stops. The indoor pool was only 2 families when I went after dinner. There is also a jacuzzi. I was happy to see the child's happy face as a parent because I couldn't take it to the pool in the summer at the corona pass. There is no place to eat or convenience store nearby. There is a store but no meals are sold. The hotel meal is very delicious in the morning and night buffet. Children who usually don't eat soba were refreshing with delicious and delicious. The adults were very satisfied with roast beef, sashimi, horse stab and tempura. There was Wi-Fi everywhere in the building. Radio waves are no problem. There is also an open-air bath, and the scenery is beautiful from inside. The congestion expected paper was pasted on the elevator, so I was able to avoid congestion and enter. I entered at night and in the morning. The children seemed to be enjoying the quiz rally in the building, origami and children's rooms. Our stay at the hotel was great! Being a Marriott Bonvoy member allowed us a nice upgrade for our room. Onsite staff spoke English very well. The room was very orderly and spacious. Also, this Marriott was one of the few hotels I have been to that had the room allergy ready when I told them I was allergic to feathers on the reservation. The free beverages (beer, wine, cocktails, juice, and soda) and hot meals during the membership lounge time were nice. The public bath was very clean and relaxing. The management team went above and beyond! We asked the doorman to arrange a taxi to get to a local restaurant. Instead, he worked with the assistant manager, who told us he would personally drive us to the restaurant (even included a return trip!) The breakfast buffet was excellent and had both American and Japanese fare. I will recommend this hotel to any of my friends or family who visit the area.

I really enjoyed my stay at this brand new hotel. Although it has been open for a couple of months, they have kept everything spotless. The lobby with open fire is beautiful and a comfortable area to have a drink and relax. The room itself was also incredibly clean and everything worked well including the WiFi. The hanten jackets were in the colours of the Ukranian flag which was a nice touch. The breakfast was good, as was the restaurant in the evening. The public bath was a nice place to soak after dinner. Service was good although it's clear the team was new and still training - I am sure this will change in time. Small criticim is there was no room service menu in the room. This was fine as it was on the TV but navigating to the menu needed Japanese skills. The architecture and general design is fantastic, as are the fittings and the carpets are just beautiful - same as all new IHG properties I think.

The first stop of this trip to Japan was impeccable. The hotel is located in the villa area of Nakakaruizawa, close to Hoshino Onsen, a small town on Elm Street. There are only three villas in the entire hotel, each with its own characteristics. BBQ campfires are available. A lot of the hotel's construction was done by the manager himself, and he was very attentive. The stones in the courtyard were all volcanic stones transported back by the truckload. The manager provides pick-up and drop-off services, and there are many unique surrounding short-distance routes to recommend. Remember to make an appointment in advance for consultation. It is said that the barbecue area will be built next year, and I will still choose Mori Four Seasons Villa when I go to Karuizawa.

Dinner was just a good meal, such as eggplant, tonpouro, tenfura, and tezushi sushi, and it was a meal that was not fun and tired of the eyes. The dining room was quiet and slow, whether it was still influenced by corona self-restraint or there were many overnight guests. I think it is good to visit in the autumn leaves season. However, since the main road to the hotel is steep and steep, it may be severe if there is no chain, of course, in winter. There is no convenience store nearby, and there is a vending machine, but it is a hotel price of 150 yen for can coffee. If you come from the Nakagaruizawa area, there is one convenience store, so you can use it. Smoking in the room was OK though the whole building was non-smoking.

The host was friendly and welcoming. We went early to drop off our baggage and even though it wasn't opened yet, he came out to entertain us and kept it for us. When we returned to check in, he was very warm and offered us a hot welcome drink, which was something we needed in the cold weather. He was very clear with his explanation, and we felt happy to hang out at the lounge area for drinks after we settled in. Bed was a little hard, but besides that, everything else was provided for and good.
