We did morning (big 5) and afternoon (non big 5) game drives during our stay, but the afternoon drives were definitely the highlight! We saw a lot of animals and were able to learn a lot about the environment and animals. All the guides were extremely passionate and knowledgeable. They enjoyed their work and loved sharing it with the guests. Great thanks to DJ, Conwright and Riaan for the lovely drives. Also the personnel back at the hotel was very friendly and helpful. Food was very good! Even when we ordered a breakfast to go it was great. Compared to other lodges of the same type, the price was good and well worth it. Animals can however be very loud during the night, so bring some earplugs if you’re a light sleeper. Would recommend.

Nice location. They serve delicious food. Friendly staff and good value for money. I will definitely recommend this place to friends and family. The rooms are very clean and well maintained. Luxury camping

Our experience at Rukiya was wonderful. The game drives, led by Hayden and Darrien, were outstanding! We saw all sorts of animals and birds in their private reserve. More than just the game experiences, they took good care of us. From hot-water bottles in our bed to excellent food to gentle wake-up calls we felt pampered and spoiled. The tents were spacious and comfortable. The small number of guests and community table for dinner made it feel very intimate. The soothing sounds of the night animals and the clear skies for star gazing were perfect for sleep and exploration. We would return again and again.

The surrounding of the campsite is as the tents self beautiful. Nice and comfortable with adorable views. The staff at the campsite was very friendly. The little details in attention made our stay at Rukiya special. It was really hartwarming. The guides are experienced: they are well known in tracking and very willing to share the wildlife. And above all they were pleasant companions during the safaris We enjoyed our stay in Rukiya!

We had such an amazing time at Rukiya Safari Camp and highly recommend staying here! We signed up with Discover Corps and stayed for a total of 10 days. Every detail was thoughtfully planned from the amazing game drives, three course meals and I absolutely loved the sundowners with Six Dogs gin (personal preference of course). Our guide was absolutely wonderful and extremely informative and nothing was overlooked. We already miss everyone at Rukiya! Thank you for wonderful memories that my daughter and I will cherish forever!

Booked via “On Track Safaris” and had excellent 3 night stay in tented low impact on natural environment camp. Little details made our first S.A. Safari special, welcome drinks, hot water bottles in bed, sundowners at sunset, plentiful & fabulous food, homemade ice cream, with all the staff going beyond their roles. Game drives with Connaught (sorry if spelled wrong) and Hayden tracking lions and rhinos at Excellence reserve exciting and on the Wild Rivers reserve informative.Can’t thank you enough tracking the elusive leopard and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend a stay here.

Amazing three days in the nature far from civilization with great company and a great hosting team! Safari does not have to be about the big5 at all costs! It is about Termites, Sable Antelopes and tropical storms! Expect the unexpected, always with the great stories of the lodge trackers and hosts.

We spent 2 nights at the Rukiya Safari Camp and we loved every part of it. The tents are great, the food is delicious, the safari’s are awesome and the staff is very friendly and well organized. Thank you Rukiya Safari Camp team!

After 3 nights in the River House we were not ready to leave! Everything from the food, to the guides and the accommodations is first class. The attention to detail, knowledge and friendliness of the entire team really makes Rukiya a special place and we hope to be back one day.
