Hotéis Family-friendly em Dalian

Had a very enjoyable stay here over the weekend leading up to Christmas. Lovely room with a fantastic view over the Labour park. Very good breakfast - excellent coffee - and the Paulaner Brauhaus had a superb Christmas party. The Kempinski sets very high standards and did not disappoint.

This Shangri-La does not have the iconic aroma smell in the lobby area. And throughout our stay of 2N, we noticed they do not have the iconic smell! How disappointing. The front desk lady is professional but service without smile. Very robotic. We visited the lobby lounge and we were served by this waitress that is just doing her job, not friendly. The breakfast is awesome, Shang's standard. Room is old and need a facelift badly. A far cry from the other Shang that I've visited.

The hotel is very nice centrally located and huge room size. The shower pressure are high and very good. Will come back to this hotel if go to dalian. Special mention to Eric Sun at Concierge. Very helpful. He is very attentive. I left my stuff at the room after check out and he personally help me to get my stuff back.

To be honest, I expected a lot for this hotel. Well too much expectation. 我想太多了！ The room, when we first entered it was smelly like I don’t know…like an old room. Clean, yes. But the smell not so ok especially when we have a baby. The Electric plugs, OMG😱 PLEASE FIX IT !!! At first it was ok but then it stopped everywhere. We need to find which electric plug works so we can boil the water and charge our phones. And the last, the WIFI. Speechless on this one. I was thinking that I can do my work during stay at this hotel. But the connection sooooo poor !!!!! I had to use my personal hotspot from my phone to do my work using laptop. Well…I spoke to the receptionist but they said, well maybe because of a lot of people are using it. Well….it’s a big hotel, not a small apartment or even house. Anyways….next time I won’t take much higher expectations on this. Tks!

It is difficult to review this hotel without talking about the pros and the cons of the location. As a beach resort the location, it is still struggling to recover from the Covid lull and many of the attractions are being refurbished this year in preparation for a hopeful end of season, but more realistically 2024. The landscape is beautiful and worth the visit and the hotel itself was clean, professional, excellently staffed and a joy to stay at. The food was above average and we particularly enjoyed the breakfasts. I would stay here again if I wanted some quiet time to relax on my own, or if I had a family that needed lots of differnet activities to keep the little ones happy.

This second time staying here, like the first, didn't disappoint. As before, visiting during the off-peak time is ideal for a quiet, uncrowded getaway. The sea-view room is welcoming and comfortable, with a view that is uncluttered and peaceful; opening the patio doors to the sound of waves rolling in equals instant relaxation. Aside from having a super comfortable bed and all the useful amenities one could need, there were simple niceties about the room, like the ability to adjust the temperature and fan speed (which runs quietly without disturbing sleep), ample hot water to fill a soaker tub, and multiple options for adjusting the room lighting. The hotel is immaculately clean, the grounds are meticulously maintained, and access to the beach is just steps away. The breakfast is substantial, with a variety of both Chinese and Western dishes. The staff was friendly and happy to care for our needs, even providing a power converter which I forgot to pack. Those in search of a quiet escape from the hustle and bustle of the city can't go wrong by staying here. Highly recommend, and hope to visit again in the future. Great service, gave us a free upgrade to deluxe room on the first day. Excellent view of the sea view and light show at night from the room! Also gave a free fruit platter and toy seal on the first day. Towels and bathrobe are also of good quality.

The Architecture is like European Style, amazing interior and exterior design, Luxury stay, one of the best hotel breakfasts in China for foreigners with huge variety. The list of things to enjoy are endless 👏but a bite too expensive, and for a hotel of this price there should be definitely a free mini bar and some free stuff in the room. Great sea and city view from the room.

Great location, near every important point in the city. Quick and convenient service 24/7. The rooms are clean and odorless with quiet neighbors. Wonderful city and great weather for the national day!

This is an honest review that is not meant to dissuade anyone but to offer a thorough unbiased review. My opinion of New World before my stay was that it was a 5 star hotel, it certainly wasn't horrible, but after my stay and comparing to other Dalian hotels in its league that I've stayed in, think it doesn't fit the bill for a 5 star hotel. I can't complain about the service, Check in was swift and we got a free room upgrade and spa coupons, but the hotel room carpet was stained, there was dust in some places and the furniture and room amenities are aging, slightly dated and need to be improved (I didn't feel the need to zoom in on those issues so the pictures wont reflect this) . I loved that there were lovely art pieces throughtout the hotel and the fitness centre was top notch especially the heated pool. The breakfast buffet had fewer options than expected for a hotel of that standard but it was honestly delicious and satisfactory, they had both Chinese and Western dishes, fruit and cereal. The waitresses from Guo restaurant had the best service they went out of their way to make our dinner pleasant. The most disconcerting issue I had with New World was that the room deposit refund took longer than I've ever experienced, I found it highly unusual and somewhat disappointing because I've stayed in a lot of 5 star hotels and usually the refund is instant but they told us it would take up to 3 days. Maybe this is standard practice for them but it made no sense to me and I've never had to wait that long. In any case surely it doesn't take 3 days to check a room!
