The location is very good, right in the city center and close to the Indian Ocean coast, so the room has a great view. The room continues the usual style of Shangri-La. Although it opened relatively recently, the furnishings still feel very old... The breakfast is rich in variety and the front desk service is very good.

Because it is a new hotel, everything is OK. There are too few Chinese people staying here, because it's a hotel opened by an Indian, and most of the guests are Indians. There are relatively few white people. I stayed there for three consecutive days and was not used to the food.

I have booked this hotel on Ctrip many times. Safety! The hotel is very grand and the service is first-rate! The breakfast has a variety of varieties, especially the fresh fruits are many and sweet, and the coconut juice is great 👍

The room's condition did not meet the expected standards. The walls were in poor condition, and the shower door did not close properly, requiring me to hold it shut while showering. Additionally, the duvet cover was torn. As a five-star establishment, we anticipate a higher level of quality and were disappointed with the current state of the room.

Amazing historical colonial hotel. Staff are very attentive but do need to use initiative sometimes to solve guests needs & wants instead of following every rule set down no matter how small or irrelevant those rules are.
I wld highly recommend this hotel as we had a great stay there 👍👍🎉🎉

Always a pleasure to stay at Taj Samudra. Great service and a fantastic Breakfast Buffet. Some of the pricing e.g Fresh Orange juice in the Lobby cafe was extortionate, maybe an oversight

I took my parents to Sri Lanka for a trip and chose a hotel with Chinese characteristics in Colombo. The surrounding environment is convenient, the rooms are clean and sanitary, and the price is very reasonable. The boss is also Chinese, so there is no communication barrier. What's more surprising is that you can taste Chinese home-cooked meals in the hotel! It was a very satisfying experience. Next time I come to Colombo, I will choose [Chinese Home] and will also recommend it to other relatives and friends who come here.
