Totally discouraged property and it “might” ruin your holiday/trip to Sri Lanka. I stayed here for 3 nights and my experiences were just so bad.
I - SLOW FOOD SERVICE. I came to their restaurant at exactly 1PM for a quick lunch before catching my train and ordered only Caesar salad and black tea. 40mins have passed and the food has not been served yet. Multiple follow ups have been given and they don’t seem to care despite being informed that their service is ULTRA SLOW. I finally went to their counter and saw my salad was there, but they never served it. Take note, their restaurant was not busy at all. It was just one table with 4 people discussing something (but did not order anything) and me, 1 table 1 person.
II - Unfortunately I have to extend my stay for another night as I was waiting to retrieve my passport from the US Embassy. I made the additional night through ******* and prepaid it online. I informed their morning shift guy at the reception regarding the extension of my stay and clarified with him whether I need to move to another room as its a lower category. He said no need to move and I can keep the same room that I currently have. At around 9PM, someone knocked my the door only ONCE (did not mention his name, did mention his department or for whatsoever) and then opened my door with his master keycard and I got scared and rushed to the door to check what it is and he just simply said “Ma’am, you checked-out already right?” I said no and explained everything and he just said “okay, sorry”. Again around 11PM, my telephone rang for the same stupid thing and telling me to check-out.
III - Requested for coffee sachets since day 2 to the housekeeper, to front desk, to the restaurant, and it NEVER came at all until I finally left the hotel.
There is just so much more that I would like to share however my feedback is getting longer but here are brief additional comments:
- 3 strong guys at the lobby, and they will not help you carry your luggage down the stairs. They will only look at you until you ask them “you don’t help?”
- Don’t depend on their wifi; it’s very slow. I suggest you just use your data instead.
- Their room is actually dirty. You will still see so many hair on the floor. Hair from head, hair from legs or even ***** hair. DISGUSTING
- Despite all these inconveniences that happened which were addressed to their manager, I NEVER HEARD THEM SAY SORRY at all. They do not care about your experience.
The only good thing about this hotel is how close it is to the US Embassy. SO PLEASE, think twice before you book!
