I’ve stayed here six months ago and came back because I love the gym and the location of this hotel. I work out everyday and usually struggle with hotel’s fitness centers but this hotel has a state of the art gym. I could spend all day at their gym. I stayed in a one bedroom suite with the view to Mississippi River which I love. Front desk was friendly and checked us in quick. Valet parking was quick and smooth. The room was clean. No coffee stains this time and I appreciate that. Pool bar service was quick and efficient this time. Cocktail by the pool were amazing. Their restaurant on the first floor still needs to improve menu options. I was disappointed to see they still offer just one vegan option (curry)in which I had tried before so I had to ask them to make me a vegan dish. My husband had their pepperoni pizza right out of their new pizza oven but it was burnt. The chef made me a delicious vegan dish but I don’t like to have to ask for it every time. The cocktail menu had no ingredients listed so you have no idea of what you are ordering. I ordered a cocktail but didn’t know there was gin in it and I hate gin. Overall, excellent service, room and gym. I will be back.

We booked the hotel seeing that it had 4 stars, there was a pool and the amenities list said there was an oven and microwave for the room. I can tell you that when we got there we were definitely surprised and not in a good way. The pool was closed even though they put a sign on the door thanking people for staying 6 ft apart. I don’t understand how you can be 6 ft apart if you can’t even go into the pool area, let alone the pool itself. Another reason we were extremely unhappy was because we had brought frozen food expecting to be able to heat it up and there was no oven, nor a microwave in the room. For a 4 star hotel that is ridiculous! Additionally, the hotel was doing some COVID-19 relief programs which in retrospect is very nice of them due to the fact that New Orleans is a poor area, but they did not let us know about it when we booked the room and the outside the hotel was full of homeless people and others just sitting around smoking and drinking by both doors outside and roaming throughout the lobby. My husband and I were very displeased and even though the hotel was giving them food and water, they created a place where anyone could have definitely caught the virus if they aren’t careful enough or if anyone walking in had it. If we ever go back to New Orleans, we will not be staying there.

We just finished our stay (June 5-10 2024), and got home to clean out our vehicle. Blunt wraps and cigarillos were found under our driver seat, which we have attached photos of. No one in our family smokes, and there was ash in our vehicle, showing one of their drivers was smoking in our car. This is completely unacceptable as we come from families with high levels of cancer. Additionally, my in-laws were staying in the same hotel and had a horrific experience. The first room they were given had BLOOD on the bedsheets. When they went to the front desk to address it, a gentlemen stated he was the only one there so he’d get to it eventually. After an extensive period of waiting, about 30 minutes, my father-in-law went down again to address it. The employee finally just moved them to another room, which was appreciated. Following this, on a different day, the same employee barged into their room unannounced, while my mother-in-law was showering and father-in-law was in his underwear. There was no acknowledgement or apology, just the employee running out of the room. Later, when the employee was confronted, he stated “Yeah, I just had to grab something.” This was also completely unacceptable. Overall, our experience was moderate at best, but after finding the ashes, smoking paraphernalia, combined with the blood on the bed and the intrusion into one of our rooms… I could never recommend this hotel to anyone, especially considering I have attempted to contact the hotel via email, and gotten no response.

Stayed 2 nights part of my trip and I really enjoyed the Loews hotel. The king bedded room was huge, with good river view (except the Harrahs hotel in front of my room). The bed was great and comfortable. Big TV, mini-fridge and nice furniture. The bathroom was huge too and luxurious. Separate bath tub and shower. I was on 16th floor and it was relatively quiet. The hotel lobby and entrance is wonderful too. Location is great and within walking distance from the main attractions. Staff was mostly nice. Only downside is the internet access. Paid around 230 USD/night with taxes but no breakfast included. A solid hotel and with good standard in luxury

We were on a trip with 4 other couples, all staying in various hotels around Canal/Bourbon street, and the property at Virgin Hotels in New Orleans, from the lobby/coffeshop, to the room, to the rooftop bar were far and away better than the other properties for around the same price. It was our Anniversary weekend, and there was a very nice gift from the hotel in our room upon arrival, and everything was perfect. For anyone looking to see the WWII museum on their stay, it was an easy 10 min. walk, and Bourbon Street was 15-20 minutes away (for those inclined).
The pictures and reviews on this hotel are accurate and probably understated compared to the experience we just had there in May 2022!

Very nice rooms (we had 2) and lots of moving around space. Every employee when encountered was pleasant and friendly. The guys working the Valet were great...they would run from their valet station to open doors for us...nice service...and we were not valeting..just walking in from across the street. No official restaurant but they do have some food. We had the Angus burger with fries and a chicken sandwich with fries and ate at the bar.....extremely good food. yes it was a little pricey, but eating it all made it worth it. Weill be returning soon. We didnt experience pool or exercise room.

The location of the hotel is good, the room is super clean and tidy, the whole hotel is in line with five points, why I didn't give five points just because the location of my room is not so good, facing the roof full of a lot of air conditioners
Our family spent two nights at the Bourbon Hotel (October 10-12). We read the reviews and were expecting an upscale hotel experience. We travel very often in the US and around the world, in all types of hotels-from basic 3 starts accommodations to luxury resorts. We do not go to hotels unless we verify recommendations and find the best fit. At most, the reviews are accurate. At times, slightly non-representing, nevertheless, we realize that it is a matter of taste. However, it is rare that an experience is so far fetched from the positive review that I had to write one myself (I very rarely do). From the moment we entered, it was a clear that we are entering a once glamorous venue which was not maintained, not clean with an atmosphere in lobby as if we entered a train station and not a hotel. The room itself was also filthy, with toe nails under our bed, hair in the closet and dust in the room. There was no soap, and housekeeping did not clean at all the following morning. The door to the balcony does not close properly and therefore it is very noisy. The empty mini bar was more of a heater than a cooler. During the whole duration of our stay, the same garbage items were not removed from the elevator and others not cleaned in lobby. When we attempted to order room service as stated on the hotel website, we were told that “we no longer deliver food to room” with no apology given. When we went to try our luck at the breakfast buffet, we were told “we no longer offer it”. We were fine with a-la-carte but then we found out that they only offer bar seating and no high chair was provided for our daughter. Again, with no apology. They were filming a series outside of the hotel, which by itself is a cool thing, but not when it makes the hotel a production room, filthy, messy, noisy and again-the hotel does not acknowledge it. The worst moment was when we needed to wait 15 minutes in the heat to get back to the hotel as the small street was closed for filming. Again, no apology given. When we needed the front desk supervisor’s assistance in a billing matter concerning tax, we were dismissed in the most vulgar and not-service-oriented manner, despite the fact that they clearly did not follow State and Federal Law. We tried to explain the issue but again, there was a total lack of willingness to listen. Bottom line, this hotel is a disgrace. Maybe years ago it deserved 4 stars, today it is a mediocre youth hostel that charges like a luxury hotel. Avoid.

There is really nothing to say about the hotel. During the epidemic, it is not only cheap but also has fewer people! The neighborhood is also very close to French Street, and there are delicious oysters, ACME restaurant is recommended, the seafood is really delicious!

Excellent
FFFSthisisstupid1Named after the founder of New Orleans, this hotel is slightly old-world but charming for that reason. Fully air conditioned, it's a period building that has comfortable rooms, and ours had a good sized en-suite shower room. Located in the French district, it's perfectly positioned for walking almost anywhere in the city (which is not large and therefore easily navigated on foot). New Orleans is chock full of eateries and bars and breakfast can be at a different diner or bistro every day. There is a bar at the back of the hotel and and a small pool and terrace area just adjacent. It's a very pleasant place to sit and relax after walking the town, a small oasis in the city. The bed was comfortable and the en-suite roomy with a powerful shower. Our room had a view over a public car park area, which isn't salubrious but since we only spent time in there to sleep, it wasn't an issue. One thing we discovered in the USA is that there is an ordinance that all railway trains must sound their horns multiple times when approaching a level crossing. There appear to be several of these in New Orleans and so our sleep was often disturbed by the strident blasts as trains approached these crossings and the station. I doubt that anywhere in the city can escape this, so it's not a criticism of the hotel. I can recommend this hotel for its appointment and location.
GGuest UserThis place is very hollow and loud. It's very close quarters and no sound proofing. You can hear everyone's TV in the hall amd your room, people screaming on the phone, doors slamming, people getting ice on another floor, people outside on the nice patio, water took forever in sink to go down, black blanket they give you was so nasty, looked like snot or semen smeared on it. Hair was everywhere. I say this with the understanding that hair is harder to get up. It was In our bed, everywhere in shower. I know you can't say no children but this is not a place for small kids to run around and talk in hallways bc everything can be hear so clearly. No proofing or weather*****ping under doors so there is a huge gap. Of maybe 1.5 inches under the doors that doesn't help the sound. Cute place, in a sketchy up and coming neighborhood. They have street parking only which was plentiful and said there was security roving through neighborhood. Never saw them but our cars were fine. Good idea for a small neighborhood hostel/hotel. Decor was simple and so cute throughout and it comes with a MW and fridge. The attached coffee and bar was nice.
GGevinI recently stayed at this hotel and had an amazing experience! The staff is super friendly, and everything was just perfect. The facilities are top-notch, and the room was incredibly spacious. The highlight for me was the bed – it's the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever had.
The hotel has plenty of amenities, including a cafe downstairs and a large lobby area. They also provide daily cleaning, which was great. I had no issues during my stay and really enjoyed my time there. If I ever visit New Orleans again, I will definitely stay here. Highly recommend!

Excellent
GGavinmcvWe stayed 4 nights here and loved it. It was in the French Quarter but was quiet. The cafe is very handy and the Bombay club bar is great for a happy hour drink. We especially loved Kenyetta who greeted us (and everyone else) with a cheery smile and conversation every time we came back from the day. She was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about New Orleans.
I was very much looking forward to this stay, as I have stayed at Loft 523 in years past. There were a number of very small things that unfortunately added up. Upon our arrival, the hotel never alerted us that there was a road closure due to construction on Gravier St. Upon early arrival, we did have to wait one hour before the room was ready. Upon returning to officially check in, the front desk alerted us that they thought our room was ready, so they went ahead and provided us with our room keys. Upon arriving at our room, the door was left cracked and was never completely closed, which was a bit of a concern. There were a number of issues in our room, including broken/missing shades on the windows, a ladder on the porch that was never removed by maintenance during the entirety of our stay (we ended up moving it ourselves to enjoy the porch area), a dirty mattress we, unfortunately, did not notice until the fitted sheet came undone on our last day at the hotel, as well as non-working outlets, a broken bathroom makeup mirror, and a dirty tub. The glass in the shower still had water stains, which led me to wonder if the shower had been cleaned prior to our arrival. The toilet was very slow and difficult to flush as well. After my previous experience at Loft 523, I was excited to be back, but unfortunately, this boutique hotel has gone downhill since my last stay. During my first stay, there was a bar in this hotel. This time around, there was no bar and no amenities available to guests in the lobby, not even water. In order to take advantage of hotel amenities, including water, we were directed to the International House. For the cost of our stay, I am not sure I would come back. Great location and great concept, but it needs some work.

JJINThe location is very good, super close to the French Quarter. However, the location of the room is very poor. The windows are facing the high wall opposite the Hutong.

GGuest UserStaff at front desk was friendly enough. No parking for hotel specifically, but we parked in the garage right next door. Lots of broken down cars, but thankfully we didn't have any issues. Some strange people wandering around the streets, but that's not anything the hotel can change. Location was good - not too far a walk to Bourbon Street & the French Quarter. We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite, which had a full kitchen and nice size open area. Our pull-out bed had no mattress on it, so someone had to bring one up. It was nice to have 2 bathrooms, however, one of the bedrooms didn't have a window in it. Did not try the breakfast or use any of the common spaces.

GGuest UserI booked this hotel 2 months ago through hotels.com. I selected the ”pay at hotel” option. We show up and they do not have our reservation or any available rooms. Unfortunately, the card I used to reserve the room was compromised and had to be canceled. I forgot that this card was used to reserve the room, and never followed-up. Nevertheless, I would think that since I only reserved the room and would still pay at the hotel, the hotel would hold on to my reservation, or maybe contact us before canceling the reservation. This was a huge inconvenience, and ended up roaming the streets in desperate need of a place to stay late at night.

GGuest UserThis was a stop over as our train stopped for the night in New Orleans and was to leave out in the morning. We arrived very late as our train had been delayed and staff was very helpful in getting us checked in. The room was quite comfortable. It had a refrigerator but no microwave which we would have greatly appreciated. We had to be up early to catch our train and we were unable to have a hot breakfast due to the lack of the microwave. Other than that, everything was fine. Hope to come back when we can stay longer.

French Quarter
小小思文The French-speaking area of New Orleans is also a large area, and many things here can also be visited. The French-speaking area has some interesting little designs, which are designed according to different specifications of the layout here, and I like the appearance here.
New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center
皮皮皮luThe exhibition hall is huge and everything is very convenient. It is very close to the exhibition hall and is a duty-free shop.
Tulane University
小小凌60This school has a beautiful environment and exquisite architecture. It is easy to miss it, because this school is not particularly famous, but it must come and visit. I think it is better than the park, especially the buildings inside, each of which is quite historical.
Frenchmen Street
小小思文French Street is a very elegant place. There are many shops to visit and shop. There are not many residents here. It is not a relatively prosperous large city. The buildings in the street are also relatively old. It is very suitable for strolling.
Bourbon St
CConnorJamesNolathe bums are wild and the drinks are for them. why not go party along the River. it's calm easy atmosphere will set you right.
The National WWII Museum
FFreebird_GraceI'm a history buff and the national ww2 museum was a long awaited trip. It was an easy 20 mins walk from the French quarter. We ended up spending well past 5 hours here. There is just so much information to read and all very interesting. It's a well done exhibit and strongly recommended for those with an interest in history and world war 2 era.
Smoothie King Center
小小思文The Orleans Kings Center is also a very memorable place, and the game here is also a popular project for Americans. The stadium is very lively on weekends, and the locals love to watch the local team's game here.
Jackson Square
小小思文Jackson Square is also a rather distinctive building. The area around here is not very prosperous. There are fewer people at night, and there are not many tour groups. There is a statue erected in the center of the square, but the specific history of the person is not very clear.
Southern Food and Beverage Museum & Museum of the American Cocktail
11101012430A more distinctive museum, has grown a lot of knowledge, it is worth punching in.
