We booked the 3.5 star Red Roof Inn after browsing through photos that made it seem updated and nice only to pull into a motel complex that was littered with cigarette butts and smelled of urine (so much for the “no smoking” sign. The room itself reeked of cigarette smoke as if someone had just chainsmoked in the room right before we got there. The pillows and comforter stank of smoke as well. Windows didn’t open, so we tried to air the place out as best we could. Photos are deceptive - looked nothing like the room we got. This is a 2 star hotel at best that needs ventilation and a good scrub.

We have been to this motel 5-6 times when we visit our daughter. My wife is handicapped and requires a handicapped accessible room. We often stay in the same room, which has always been clean and comfortable. We appreciate the staff. The hot breakfast has always been tasty.

I am not one person to leave a review. However, I am less than pleased. The room is covered in dust. It took over four hours to cool the room down. The king size bed sags in the middle and is extremely uncomfortable. I absolutely do not feel clean in this room. The fitness center is absolutely disgusting. The thermostat in the fitness center is held on by scotch tape and it is overwhelmingly hot in there. The machines have clearly not been cleaned in a while and there are machines that have clear evidence of heavy sweat left on them. I recommend saving a few dollars by choosing another hotel nearby. There is nothing worth the price tag of this stay.

Mr. Will easily resolved some payment issues for me and also relayed my gratitude in my absence to both Ms. Liz who was the best do-it-all waitress at the previous night's dinner and the gentlelady or gentleman who cleaned our room. Could not ask for more nor better - the people make the place a real comfort. The ladies who served us during continental breakfast worked hard, gave generous portions, and always were taking care of us as we just tried to get through the early hours at the start of a long and fateful day. And those who checked us in or manned the front desks gave helpful advice and anticipated our needs for all our convenience. Excellent service is not easy, and I am thankful for those who gave it to us through our stay.

We were initially placed in a room that had an unpleasant odor and where lights weren’t working. After requesting a different room we were informed that there had been a flooding incident in our original room which resulted in electrical problems with the lights. Why were we put in that room in the first place? We were moved right across the hall into a room “with a much better view” according to the desk clerk. Again, why weren’t we given the better room initially? That being said, the breakfast buffet was good and most of the workers encountered were both friendly and helpful.

I booked a room for a guest over Thanksgiving. She was traveling with her adult son and needed some accommodations for her health issues. So I booked her here, at the Towneplace Suites. I like the larger rooms that you find in an extended-stay suites hotel. This hotel had a free breakfast, which was necessary for her son. I specifically asked for a low floor, near an elevator, to minimize walking if I could. I checked her in early, on the app. When we got there, the room keys were all ready. Her room was on the ground floor, by the side door, away from all the traffic of the front desk. It was wonderful! Just what we needed for someone who has walking limitations. She didn't have to walk down long corridors, just came in through the side door. Her son brought her breakfast in the morning. I don't think she ever made it to the lobby. So we got a quiet room, convenient for her, large enough for two adults, and amenities that the son loved. There are six Marriott-brand hotels by this airport, and I am convinced that I found the right one. Major kudos to the staff at the reception desk who had everything ready for us, even though we arrived early. Great job!

The Comfort Suites chain is supposed to be entirely smoke free, but as soon as we walked into our room, we encountered an overwhelming cigarette smoke smell. The worst we have ever smelled in a hotel room. My husband went to the front desk to ask about moving to a different room, and the employee said that because we booked through a third party, he couldn’t do anything. He treated my husband like a second class citizen and said if we had a problem, we could go across the street to the Holiday Inn! So rude! My husband then asked to speak to the manager. The employee said the manager left at 3:00, so we’d have to wait until tomorrow. Apparently, the manager very conveniently leaves by 3:00, which is the earliest anyone can check in. My husband then asked for Febreeze or something to cover the unbearable cigarette smell. The employee said that housekeeping had already left for the day, (again…convenient) but he had a little bit of “smoke odor eliminator” left in a spray bottle that we could use. I sprayed it all over the room, we opened the door, cranked the AC and a ceiling fan to air the room out. There were cigarette burns in the curtains, and both chairs, so this room has obviously been smoked in, even though they claim it is a nonsmoking room, hotel and chain. Also, we did not book a jacuzzi room, but this room had one in the main living area, and it was broken. The headboard on the bed had grimy handprints all over it, so we really didn’t want to lay our heads by that! Changing hotels was not on option, because it was Memorial Day weekend, and everything was either fully booked or triple the price. My husband then called Hotels.com from our room to see if they could help. They called the desk and negotiated to get us a refund for one of our 2 nights there, which we appreciated. While my husband was still on his phone with the very friendly Hotels.com rep, the front desk employee called the room telephone, so I answered. He wanted the spray bottle back! I asked if he would bring some cleaning solution so I could clean the headboard! He came up to the room and brought disinfectant wipes for ME to clean the headboard, and he took pictures of it and took pictures of all the cigarette burns. Now to address breakfast. I specifically called ahead of time to ask what they offer for breakfast. My husband is borderline diabetic and can’t have breads and sweets. They said they always have eggs and breakfast meats. Great…we knew we could enjoy their breakfast amenity! On Sunday morning, we were at breakfast by 8:30am and they were out of eggs and there were only a few sausage links left. I asked the breakfast attendant when they would bring out more, and she said they would not be resupplying them. They were completely out, and there was still an hour of breakfast service left at a completely booked hotel! Monday morning they were out of both eggs and sausage! Thirdly, I’ll address parking. There are only a handful of parking
