The main floor also contains a full bath off the mud room. Upstairs there are 3+ bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The master suite features custom lighting, double ended soaking tub, with separate walk in shower and marble floors. The top floor is magical with 3rd quiet bedroom, and entertainment room with custom balcony skylight. Best views in the house! Outdoors there are decks on 3 levels with gorgeous mountain views. Be sure to enjoy the hot tub and infrared sauna during your stay!You will have complete privacy in the main house and all adjoining decks.**There is a self contained apartment for the resident manager with a separate entry.**Absolutely no tobacco smoking allowed at the property, however we are MJ friendly.Sorry! No pets are allowed to stay at the lodge.Be aware that we have limited cell service at the lodge, though phones with WiFi calling should work, and we provide a landline for guest use.Sky Mountain Lodge was designed and built to be a “passive solar” house, meaning that the main source of heat is the sun! The secondary heat source is the wood stove; which when running regularly, heats the whole house quite well. That said, guests may not want to maintain a fire during their stay. So we’ve provided several individual space heaters for night time use and cloudy days.The lodge is located at 8,300 feet above sea level and altitude sickness is a possibility at this elevation.We are in bear country! Please do not leave food in your vehicles overnight and be sure to lock car doors; our bears have learned how to open them :)The WiFi is reliable high speed DSL.The lodge is supplied with a reverse osmosis system in the kitchen so the water is absolutely fine to drink, no bottled water needed!We are on a septic system and we ask that guests please NOT put anything other than the toilet paper provided into the toilet. This includes “flushable” wet wipes, they are NOT septic safe. We provide flip top lidded trash receptacles in the bathrooms to place sanitary products, wet wipes etc.Due to bears, we do not have outside trash storage, so if you fill a bag please place it in the extra trash bins in pantry/laundry room.We recycle! Nestled into the earth in the Rocky Mountain foothills above Boulder, Colorado, The Chaled (Chalet + Shed) is a sunny, relaxing hideaway. It’s located on expansive land bordering the National Forest with abundant wildlife, yet just 12 minutes to downtown Boulder and 17 minutes to the ski town of Nederland. It has high-speed internet, off-street parking, mature fruiting apple and apricot trees, a small lawn and garden, and a stone patio and outdoor dining area.You'll have the 350 square foot cabin and its private yard to yourself. It's situated on a quiet, paved road with little traffic and is part of a larger property with a single family home in full-time residence with two kids. (The main house and one neighboring house are approximately 100 yards away.) A south-facing window seat is always the favorite spot to read or watch wildlife, and the open floor plan includes comfortable chairs, a dining table with chairs, and a fully equipped kitchen. The bedroom is quiet and cozy and has ample storage space. The bathroom includes tub and shower. The outdoor dining table with umbrella, grill, and outdoor seating overlook the property and are delightful for outdoor meals and entertaining.Guest accessThe cabin is easily accessible from Boulder via paved roads. One parking space is provided in front of it. AWD or 4WD is not necessary most of the year, but in the winter, if snow comes down, it is recommended to get up and down the mountain roads safely.Other things to note:The cabin has high-speed internet and cell service, depending on your carrier (AT&T seems to work best up here.) The WiFi is fast, and to use your cell phone for phone calls/texts, simply turn on “Wi-Fi calling”. Please note that there is no AC or TV. It’s a 5-minute drive to Betasso Mountain Preserve, a Boulder County-maintained trail system for running and biking with 3-mile and 7-mile loops. In the winter you’re about 30 minutes from skiing at Eldora Resort. Located near both the Wild Basin Entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park and Long's Peak trail head, this cabin is ideally suited to anyone looking for a base for hiking, riding, climbing, hunting or just lazing and star gazing. The first floor includes a combined kitchen, dining room and living room, as well as two bedrooms and bath. Upstairs is a large loft overlooking the living room that most guests use as the master bedroom because of its large windows, the king size bed and it's stunning views of Mt. Meeker. The house sits on an acre and a half lot. It is adjacent to Ponderosa Lodge (Property # 803298) which we often rent in tandem (it is about 100 yards down hill) and which can be accessed by a path. Many families have rented both houses together for family reunions and weddings. We bought the house in 2001, although Susie had hoped to purchase it since first setting foot in in 1967, when her parents brought the family to meet the builder before purchasing the house down the hill. There has always been something very special about this cabin. It feels isolated while still being close to amenities. Its an easy 15 minute drive to Estes, 45 minutes to Boulder, and 5 minutes to the booming metropolis of Allenspark (population 250!). The Meeker Park Lodge Livery is a short walk and in summer the lodge has a small grocery store for last minute items. We are surrounded by Rocky Mountain National Park and Roosevelt National Forest so there is hiking in virtually every direction, from easy strolls to the trail head for one of Colorado's magnificent 14'ers. The Long's Peak trail head is just a brief drive. Susie's family started coming out to this area in 1955 and have enjoyed the wonders of this area in every season. The abundance of wildlife (moose, elk, mule deer, bobcats, hawks, owls, chipmunks, squirrels, seen them all!) can be enjoyed from the deck. The house is fully furnished and includes satellite and WiFi, a flat screen TV, DVD, games, books and a welcoming wood burning stove in the living room. We’ve recently put in a new king size mattress and have made some other upgrades. Its a great house. For the outdoor enthusiast incredible hiking and biking trails are easily accessible from the property. There is rock climbing in nearby Boulder canyon. Nederland skate park, Ice rink and tennis courts are minutes away. In the winter enjoy skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing and/or cross country skiing at nearby Eldora Mountain Ski Resort or backcountry trails. We offer high speed internet and free WiFi. We use starlink and have 264 mbps! Our mountain retreat is perfect for any kind of mountain adventure! Our house is great for entertaining with an open floor plan. There is a wood burning stove and we supply firewood & kindling. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals. All 3 bedrooms are very spacious with incredible views. All bedrooms and the living room have hepa air purifiers. You are welcome to bring your well behaved furry friends. We allow up to two dogs. These minerals are more readily dissolved and transported into the well water during periods of increased rainfall and runoff, which is common in the spring. We have a reverse osmosis system for purified drinking water and test water regularly.During winter 4WD or AWD is recommended. We do our best to maintain the driveway and walkway free of snow and ice but it will be slippery at times. All newer furniture and bedding (comfy mattresses and pillows). You can sit on the front or back deck of the house and hear the sounds of the Middle St Vrain River down below. The kitchen is well equipped with all the essentials you might need. We have some really cool yard games (giant connect four, plastic axe throwing, etc.), board games, a dart board, a foosball table, an arcade game, and good Wi-Fi for streaming or working remotely. Main bedroom is large with a queen size bed with wood burning fireplace and seating, smart tv, walk in closet with light up makeup vanity, and access to a private back patio. Bring your own firewood during the winter months if you would like to use the wood burning fireplace. Second sleeping area is a loft overlooking the living room with a queen bed and a large smart tv. The cabin is located on Riverside Drive in South St. Vrain Canyon and accessible via County maintained paved roads that are plowed regularly during the winter. It is approximately 15 minutes from downtown Lyons, 15 minutes to Allenspark, 30 minutes to Estes Park, 30 minutes to Boulder or Longmont, and 45 minutes to Eldora Ski area. It is also within a 15 minute drive to a very cute little town with a country store for essentials such as milk and eggs, gas, a couple restaurants, a liquor store, and a spring to refill water containers for free. We are near the Middle St. Vrain River with great fishing, hiking trails, off-roading trails, biking, etc. all close by. The town of Lyons is very cute with restaurants, ice cream shop, and lots of things to do throughout the year such as a huge blue grass music festival during the summer, tubing on the river, and a parade of lights in December. If you have any special requests just let us know and we will do our best to accommodate. A four-wheel drive or all-wheel drive is required from December through March in case of a heavy snow during your stay. No pets other than max of 2 dogs.
