The Salil Hotel Riverside Bangkok

The services were 'excellent' in a bad way because sadly we had the feeling that we were treated badly by the standards of a so-called 5-star hotel. Much of the hotel staff that served us seemed to have looked down upon us as if they were saying to us, 'you guys don't fit in here, why would you guys be here?' except for the newbie staff members who served us in the buffet breakfast. And the key card for our room went malfunctioned for 3 times during our stay. And somehow it seemed to us that we were denied access to some of the iconic places of the hotel like the rooftop garden and the famed jacuzzi with our room key card even after it had been fixed, claimed by the hotel staff. And we are pretty sure that it's lobby was perhaps the tiniest among the 5-star hotels around the world. My partner described it as a 'fake 5-star hotel' that the hotel has tried very hard to be a 5-star one but it still has to take some more time to become a real one for the time being. Last but not least, we have to say that the hotel was sanitary and we enjoyed its buffet breakfast very much. Grateful! We've learnt a lot in this eye opening journey!

Beautiful hotel! deluxe river view rooms exceptional, with a distant view of the river, washer dryer, turndown service. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we could sit riverside for dinner even though the hotel had closed the area for a wedding function. This was much appreciated as we would have been beyond disappointed to have missed this feature. Shuttle boat to Icon Siam every hour, great breakfast, great gym and games room. A gem of a hotel!

Excellent service, the room is comfortable and very clean. The shuttle boat to ICONSIAM is very convenient too. Had an overall great experience staying here.

Location was excellent as it was by the riverside. It was also relatively easy to get over to ICON Siam with the boat service that came frequently. Apart from that, the rooms were clean, amenities also looked pretty new and well maintained! The food within the hotel vicinity was also really good. Would definitely recommend this hotel, extremely satisfied.

Got free room upgraded from city view to riverside view. Free shuttle boat to Icon Siam, free Thai dress session within the hotel area, Siham and Manal are so lovely ❤️ overall their hotel service is good, strong Wi-Fi, good breakfast, love the view, free late check out so that I can have my zoom meeting with a longer time……this is the first time I like the hotel environments until I don’t feel like going out to the city.

We had our 1st vacation since Covid and had a great time in The Salil. When we arrived from the airport, the guys who greeted us was fantastic and we immediately felt welcomed as they quickly grabbed the bags from d car and showed us where to check in. Check in was quick and guests are asked to download an app for concierge services. The response from the team when u message them is quick. We booked the 1 bed room with riverview whcih overlooked the pool and had a nice view of the river and had a crib delivered as well. Room space was ok with a small sitting area by d window. Aircond is super cold at 21 celcius. Bed and pillows were delicious. There r 2 flat screens in d room, one for the bed and one for the sitting area. Note, there is no door or screen partition the one bedroom. The shower is strong n has a bathtub and an automatic toilet washer like in Japan! Bonus! There is a kitchenette with 2 burners, a microwave and a full sized fridge. Plates, cups, wine glasses and cutlery were also provided but no pots n pans nor washing liquid n sponge. And we were happy to see a washer cum dryer as well but no laundry powder. Oh they also provide lounge wear cum sleeping attire n bath robes. Amenities are from Harnn, the spa. I had 2 body massages at Harnn, Eurasian and Healing n my therapist, Tofu was superb. I actually went back d 2nd time bcoz of her. She knew I had lower back pain m went d extra mile to stretch my back for me. In-house guests grts 25% off. Everyday when we leave, we r always greated by Mr Au who never failed to welcome us n played with my toddler. The service is excellent. Pool is nice but water soo cold n the staff taking care of the towels very friendly. Breakfast spread was ok but u get bored after 5 days 🤣 Had beers at Taproom and sat on the grass on poofs in the evening with a prety view of the river n lights. They have a boat transfer to Sathon pier and Icon Siam starting from 10am till 5pm and back. If u miss the boat, just take a BTS to Saphan Taksin and a taxi will cost u under thb60 to get back. Walking distance to Asiatique (say 10 mins) and the 3rd massage place called outside on the left called Nuad Dee is superb n cheap at THB 280 for 2 hrs. Get the guy with short hair who wears face powder n lipstick. U wont regret it. I went daily! Also in close proximity to Assumption Cathedral by taxi, 10 to 15 mins. We definitely will be back!

Absolutely amazing hotel in a heart of Bangkok. Staff very polite and ready to help. There is no wish that wouldn't be fulfilled. We became an upgrade to a corner room and had a beautiful view.The pool and spa are excellent. Superb location. Definitely coming back!
