Nestled in the rice paddies of Kutuh Village, just a short drive from the centre of Ubud, Sugars Villas is a tranquil home away from home in Bali. Here you will find three beautiful boutique villas, each with its own distinct character, ensuite bathroom and private terrace overlooking lush greenery. Also on site is an aquamarine free-form pool, breezy restaurant, and an intimate bar.
Family is of the utmost importance in Balinese culture, and many Balinese people live in compounds with generations of family members living together. Sugars Villas was designed with this family theme in mind. Here you have the Grandparent’s Villa with a king sized bed, the Parent’s Villa also with a king sized bed, and the Kid’s Villa with two twin beds. Whether you are travelling solo, as a couple, or with friends or family in tow, there is a villa here to suit your needs.
Inside each villa you will find comfortable beds with high-quality mattresses, ensuite bathrooms with bathtubs and rain showers, and modern amenities like flat-screen TVs, air-con, and complimentary Wi-Fi. Each villa also has its own private terrace with a table and chairs where you can enjoy romantic meals, sunset cocktails overlooking the rice fields, or a relaxing afternoon reading or napping.
Each villa is spaced far enough apart from the others to offer plenty of privacy and views out over the rice paddies, however guests can also gather at the restaurant, pool or bar to socialize and grab a bite or a beverage. Depending on availability, you can rent a single villa or multiple villas, and there are options to add extra beds if needed.

We stayed at sugars Villas on the recommendation of friends. We had a great time. The owner and his family are very welcoming helpful and friendly. It is a very relaxing and quiet environment with only three villas each with a veranda looking out onto rice paddies and lush vegetation . The owner was tremendously helpful when my husband required emergency medical care as well as organising rides for us into town. We really enjoyed relaxing on the veranda, in the pool , chatting in the eating area as well as participating in local cultural events recommended by the owner and his family.

You want to stay here because the location is great, the villas are private, there is a pool, there are good views over the rice paddies, you can eat at the attached restaurant, and especially because the staff are warm, welcoming and extremely helpful. From the villas, you can walk to the main street of Ubud in less than 30 minutes, but if you rent a scooter, it takes only five. The rooms, which are cleaned daily, are roomy and airy, and they have great views. Each villa is isolated so you have full privacy. And they look out over rice patties. There is also a well-kept pool for cooling down during the hot hours of the day. Near the pool, there’s both a bar and a restaurant. But best of all is the staff, who ensure that your stay here is comfortable and that you lack for nothing. They have been very helpful with planning (and in resolving an urgent medical situation). For example, they helped us attend Hindu ceremonies that are otherwise off-limits to tourists and arranged other cultural events, like the Kecak dance performance. Would certainly stay here again.

Family-owned and run private villas with luxurious bathrooms (including enclosed outdoor stone showers) and private terraces with daybeds and dining tables overlooking rice field views located inside a verdant jungle garden, with a pool, bar and restaurant in a traditional-architecture pavilion serving delicious Indonesian and western food, including their famous all-day breakfasts which are popular with the local expat community. Nyoman takes care of you so you feel welcomed like family (inviting to ceremonies, organizing transport and advice)! All available at local prices!

This place is fantastic and a true haven in Ubud. Great hospitality, excellent food and cute bungalows. My kids and I loved the pool . The hosts make you feel at home and nothing is a problem . We would recommend this for a couple or for families .
