I stayed at Pandawa Hill Resort with my girlfriend when we travelled to Bali, Indonesia at the end of December 2023. We booked the 'Deluxe Room with View' and stayed for a total of 5 nights (28-Dec to 02-Jan). We ended up choosing this hotel mainly for the price and its' close proximity to Savaya nightclub as we planned to attend 4 separate events at this venue in 5 days. Overall: I would say that Pandawa Hill Resort is certainly nowhere close to a 4-star hotel (at most 2-stars) but it is an affordable, convenient choice if you have plans to party at Savaya in Bali (a nightclub with many famous DJs playing there year-round) and just need a convenient hotel to use as a home base. Returning to this hotel from Savaya takes about 15-20 minutes by car while at least an hour if you decided to stay in a more touristy and developed area like Seminyak. After overcoming my initial disappointment with the hotel cleanliness and sub-par hotel amenities, I still consider Pandawa Hill Resort to be a decent, affordable option if you intend to stay and travel around the southern part of Bali (especially if plan to frequent Savaya often), provided that you are assigned a clean room by the hotel upfront. Room: The first impression of the room after checking in was well below my initial expectations. The room was not clean and looked very worn down compared to the photos depicted on Agoda. Upon entering the first room we were given, we found there were dead flies and other insects in the room like fruit flies, moths, and heavy stains on the bedsheets. The dealbreaker, however, was that there seemed to be some questionable stains on the toilet seat and hence we immediately requested to change to a different room. The front desk advised that the hotel was already fully booked that day, but after some insistence, they agreed to show us two other available rooms (one on the same floor and one on a higher floor). Although the second room did not seem to be significantly better than the first, it was cleaner and did not have flies. However, there were still many stains on the bedding, even after we requested the hotel to change it, and a cockroach appeared in the bathroom during one of the nights of our stay. The Wi-Fi in the room was quite strong and stable so I had no qualms about connectivity--it turned out to be one of the few things about this hotel that simply met my expectations. Oddly, there was also no safe to keep your valuables in the room, which I assumed to be quite standard for any 4-star hotel. Lastly, and to our surprise, the hotel staff actually refused our request for another set of towels on the first day, mentioning that every room is only entitled to one set of towels per day. Location: This hotel is pretty much located in the middle of nowhere. It is located far from the main tourist areas such as Denpasar to the North or Uluwatu to the West. There is a beach called Pandawa Beach nearby the hotel that seemed more geared to locals and only a 5 mi
