Compared to my last visit two years ago shortly after the end of the pandemic era, I am happy to see that Hyatt Regency Baku has now become much more vibrant than before with many locals as well as business and leisure travellers from all over the world choosing to stay. I could see this Hyatt property, under the management and supervision of Mr. Orkhan Alakbarov, never slacks off in striving for product update, operational refinement and service perfection in order to elevate guest experiences to the greatest extent possible. Orkhan is an insightful and experienced leader, capable of seeing around corners to meet with business challenges and achieve organisational excellence. He not just manages to cultivate a collaborative culture among the team, but also succeeds in assigning the right persons to the right roles through understanding the strengths and ambitions of each individual associate. One of the examples would be Seymur, who served as a member of the concierge team for over six years until Orkhan took over the GM position having identified his potential and promoted him to become the guest experience specialist. Shortly after checking in my room I had difficulty in getting access to the WiFi, the reliability of which was not as promising as what Hyatt hotels used to provide. I went to the front office to seek assistance. While the front office associates were a bit laid back, Seymur came to me at the reception area and actively assisted. He still remembered me as a returning guest since my last stay in September 2022. Seymur made numerous attempts to help resolve the issue by, say, liaising with the IT team, coming to my room to test the connection, bringing me a spare router as connection back-up etc., just for the sake of seamlessness of my stay. He is extremely passionate about taking care of all guests, not just me, as I could observe him offering proactive assistance to whoever approaches him for any issues pertaining to their stays with this property. Throughout my time with Hyatt Regency Baku, I could hardly come across an associate who managed to treat guests with heart and passion to the same extent as Seymur, as if they were his family members or friends. Seymur is not only helpful and friendly but also professional in managing guests’ experience. He actively followed through any issues that were brought to him, and put much efforts on ensuring them to be timely and effectively resolved. Hyatt has been well known for its exceptional hospitality, whenever and wherever, and Seymur clearly exhibits this quality and even surpasses the conventional standard of Hyatt. Seymur is a role model for many others and I highly appreciate him. I once spoke to Orkhan that I will spread the good news on all possible channels in recognition of the outstanding service of Seymur. He deserves my wholehearted compliments as per above.
