We had to make last minute travel arrangements due to a tragedy in the family, and the Moxy had the most reasonable pricing at the time with proximity to the hospital. Hotel management was incredibly flexible with us as we needed to change our plans due to the family member passing. We appreciated them working with us. All of the staff in general were very friendly.
Overall, the vibe of the Moxy is lively and fun and going through such a stressful ordeal, that made it nice to have a place to unwind, enjoy the fires on the patio with a drink and play a game. Because of our room being just over the patio, we could hear some music/bass at night but it really wasn’t as loud as we expected. The shades, when drawn, made the room very dark so the lights didn’t carry in. The elevators require key access so we felt safe.
The main downsides for us were a) there was an incredibly bright blinking light from the smoke alarm that was a bit annoying, b) the lights are on a motion detector so if someone gets up at night to go to the bathroom the whole rooms lightsturn on, which was frustrating and c) even after the staff tried to help with our TV, we kept having an issue with its connectivity to the internet and couldn’t watch anything without it freezing repeatedly or going “out” altogether. I’d also add that one morning I had a presentation for work, and the fold down desk was difficult to sit at with the strange chairs in the room. All in all, we would stay at a Moxy again.
