"Mountway Hotel Apartment: A Budget Gem for Asian Travelers in Perth I recently stayed at Mountway Hotel Apartment in Perth, and I must say it’s one of the best options in its price range, especially for Asian travelers looking for a long-term stay with self-catering facilities. Location: The hotel’s location is incredibly convenient for getting around. It’s just 1.1 km from the central train station, and you can hop on free bus services like the Red CAT, Blue CAT, or Green CAT, with stops only 100m to 250m away—perfect for easy commuting. Behind the hotel lies the stunning Kings Park and Botanic Garden. If you don’t feel like walking the 300m to get there, the Blue CAT will drop you off effortlessly. The accessibility to public transport and nearby attractions is a huge plus. Cleanliness: While the exterior might look a bit dated, the interior is surprisingly spotless. I booked a room for two, but the bedding and pillows provided were enough for four, which was a nice touch. Everything felt fresh and well-maintained, and I was thoroughly satisfied with the cleanliness. Facilities: The private kitchen was a highlight—equipped with a rice cooker, pots, pans, a toaster, a fridge, and enough cutlery, plates, and utensils for four people. They even provide coffee, which I appreciated. However, there are a few downsides: the electric stove is small and outdated, making cooking a bit slow. Also, there’s no salt or basic seasonings provided, nor chopsticks, which might inconvenience Asian guests. The bathroom features a very clean bathtub, but it lacks shampoo and body wash, so you’ll need to bring your own. Despite these minor drawbacks, I’d still rate Mountway Hotel Apartment as the best value for money in its category. It’s practical, comfortable, and ideal for Asian travelers who want to stay longer and cook meals to suit their tastes. I’d happily recommend it to anyone looking for a home-away-from-home experience in Perth!"

"Very clean modern room. Very close to the CBD making it very convenient with buses stops almost at the front of hotel."

"Everything was excellent except for the parking it’s a bit of a walk, not the end of the world but a long walk and when I was there a car had run into a sign outside the front of the shopping centre which meant I couldn’t access the car park through the shopping centre and I had to go the whole way around the block. It was night time there were people around it was just a bit normal not a dealbreaker but be aware of that. The standout was the staff. They are brilliant. Nothing is too hard, they are polite and happy actually one of the best experiences I’ve had and I stay at a lot of hotels and I’ve done so for a lot of years Oaks Perth whatever it is that you’re doing as far as Training is concerned and dealing with your staff you are doing a brilliant job. They all seemed happy and contented and not one person made me feel like they were just at work. They really impresses me with positive attitudes and genuine helpfulness so well done for that. My only negative is the stupid car park. Other than that you guys are ticking every box and kicking goals. Keep it up"

"Clean and comfortable stay. Walkable to many shops and food outlets. The only gripe is that the paid parking is one street away. The room is neat and clean. The dryer and washer are clean and well-maintained - surprised that the lint filter is clean and empty, unlike some accommodation that don't bother to empty it. Spare pillows provided in the cupboards if you need additional ones. Would be good if a trash bin can be provided at the living area, and a drying rack for wet dishes. Pleasant and helpful staff. Note that the front desk is open till 11pm only. For late arrivals, do inform them. We reached at about 8pm and none of the street parking outside the apartments was not available so it was cumbersome to move all our luggages along with our kids. The entrance is not barrier-free (3 small steps into the main door) so travellers with heavy luggages might require some help. The building is secure with a tap access lock into the main door."

"Very clean, well kept apartment with the full amenities for a 3-night stay. We were checking in as a family of 2 adults and a child. Away from the hustle and bustle of the main Perth city centre, Joondalup was a peaceful getaway for us during the New Year celebrations. Reception was always friendly and helpful and paid secured parking was available. Thank you."

"Location is good. Spacious for our family of 4. Need to walk a bit to town for food and to Elizabeth quay. The aircon and heater makes quite a big noise and can affect the the light sleepers. There is also just one aircon in the whole apartment. Means the rooms only have fans. Parking bag provided which is nice"

"Overall, the hotel was okay. Clean, modern, and the location was next to UWA, where we needed to be every day. Not close to downtown or other services such as restaurants, so we had to eat at the hotel restaurant or order out. My main issue was that there wasn't a printer available for guests. Due to flight delays caused by bad weather, we had to stay longer after the 10:00 am checkout (until 7:30 pm) and were charged a full day (at a higher rate), despite the staff not understanding the situation and not prorating the charge.
