Ctrip showed 12 o'clock to stay, and at 1:30 pm, the hotel was told that the house was not ready and needed 3 o'clock. We went out with our luggage and went back at 4 o'clock. The house was not ready yet, and I immediately changed it, but from the fifth floor, there was a balcony with six floors and no balcony. It doesn't matter, the quilt in the key room is still tidal, and the hotel is painting and the room smells in the past few days. Also found the front desk brother finally gave a free upgrade to the suite to solve. Breakfast starts at 5 o'clock, more common, bread milk juice fruit. The hotel is a budget hotel with general facilities. But the time is very good and the service is very good. The pick-up and drop-off are free and the service attitude is really good! Good value for money. I have set up their suite with an invincible terrace! The hotel has 24-hour hot tea, hot water and hot coffee at the front desk. You can drink it when you enter the door, which is very convenient!

The hotel is near the train station. Turn right and then turn right for five minutes. It is 20 minutes by car from Machu Picchu Scenic Area. The hotel service is great. It is a pleasant surprise hotel. It is located at 2020 meters above sea level and between the highlands and the rainforest. It has a private botanical garden of 50 hectares. Among them, the most famous is the orchid garden, with as many as 372 varieties. The hotel has arranged various activities at all times, and has a plant expert who took me to watch various orchids and how to make tea with plants. At the same time, I was fortunate to see the Peruvian national bird moving crown umbrella bird. The only regret is that the check-out time is 10 am.

Very pleasant surprise. Prices were very reasonable in this touristy town, so did not have such high hopes, but was really great 3 star hotel. Room was clean and fairly spacious, bed was comfortable and staff very friendly. Bed was comfy and loved opening the window and listening to the rushing stream all night. Breakfast was awesome with table service too, again, considering price, best deal around. Only two things to note, located a few steps further away than some hotels, but everything in town is pretty close, and the noise carried if someone was talking in the corridor (until we opened the door for river noise.) Also a bit of train noise, but they don't run late at night anyway.

Excellent value for money at this basic but very accomodating hotel. Very friendly staff and the location is right on the river so we enjoyed a great view from our room. Breakfast was very good. It’s an older building so don’t expect luxury but if you want comfort, location and price- this is a good option. Bathroom was not amazing but fine for us.

My family and I truly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Retama. The staff were very helpful and friendly, the breakfast was amazing and they did everything to make our stay wonderful including arranging for a tour guide who was fantastic. The location and accomodations were great--it is at the top of a hill away from the crowds. We loved it and will be back!

We had our choice of going to the masseuse or having them come to us in our room. Since we had a king-size bed and it was 6 pm, We decided to have it in our room. The two ladies were absolutely fabulous! It was a wonderful way to finish our day Touring. The hotel orthodox a dinner but we were so tired we asked Could we have lunch the next day instead and they accommodated us very willingly.

We booked this hotel for 1 night. we came with our two dogs which in advance they told us they would charge 20$ each. they are very well behaved, clean and quiet chihuahuas. we agreed and it was ok, even though we still find this very expensive. the staff was very nice and let us leave our bags and dogs in a spare room while we went to machu pichu. We had two very big issues during our stay. First they did not inform us in advance that the whole hotel is under construction and the pool and jacuzzi are used for concrete mixing. They were the whole reason we chose this hotel, we are very unhappy with that. they didn't offer us any refund and only let us know about this situation AFTER we paid for the room. At one point a bucket of concrete even poured from the roof right onto us, standing in front of the hotel. they didn't offer any help, we had to ask for a cloth to wipe the concrete from our clothes. even though they apologized we were very annoyed for our clothes are now ruined. The other issue is that due to a power out we couldn't have our included dinner. they did not offer any solution except to wait a half hour because electricity might return. it didn't (all night long) which of course is not their fault but still we think they should have offered a solution. we had to ask about it at the end of our stay and got a refund of 10$ each. even though the room is nice, the staff is friendly and the location good we had a really bad experience with this hotel and i am very disappointed, since it was very expensive. other things you should know: you have to pay for drinks extra during lunch and dinner (even if you booked a full meal plan). check out is at 10 (no late check out possible) although they can store your things.

We were very welcome and welcomed. The hotel is about 5 min walking from the train station. Easy access. The girl at the reception has served us with great sympathy and attention! He was early up for us to prepare a coffee.. simple but tasty! The room is simple.. But it's the necessary for the stay. Heat water shower and super comfortable bed. Quiet for a good night sleep. Far from the street muvuca. It was very kind of her to keep our bags while we went up to Machu Pichu. I recommend!

Stayed here as part of the Inca Trail trek. Our room was right above the trains that made a really loud noise all day until late at night. The fumes of the train were coming into our room. It was like the train was IN the room. We asked for a different room but they could only offer us a room in the basement with no windows that smelled like mold. We went out to buy some earplugs but couldn't find them. After reaching out to our trekking guide that we couldn't sleep this way, they could offer us a better room all of sudden: higher up and with double glazed windows: so a lot quieter. Until the next morning. They started inhouse construction at 7.30 am. Drilling, hammering... So no, I would not recommend this place of you're looking for a good night of rest after your trek. (The trains are closer to the hotel now because of a mudslide that happened two months ago. They had to reroute the train station.)

LO BUENO: El hotel está muy bien ubicado, la atención muy buena, el dueño Franklin sumamente servicial.. Te buscan en la estación del tren. La limpieza impecable. El desayuno es bueno. LO MALO: las toallas de mano las tuvimos q pedir siempre, ya q nos las ponen, el mayor problema es que se escucha demasiado los ruidos del hotel, las puertas de las habitaciones tienen un vidrio arriba por lo q cdo se enciende la luz del pasillo cuando alguien pasa, ilumina permanentemente y no deja descansar, las ventanas de los baños dan los pasillos y se escuchan claramente cdo alguien se baña ya q están muy cercanas unas de otras. No hay un cesto de basura en la habitación para tirar papeles, botellas plásticas etc. El WiFi es inestable.

At one point a bucket of concrete even poured from the roof right onto us, standing in front of the hotel. they didn't offer any help, we had to ask for a cloth to wipe the concrete from our clothes. even though they apologized we were very annoyed for our clothes are now ruined. The other issue is that due to a power out we couldn't have our included dinner. they did not offer any solution except to wait a half hour because electricity might return. it didn't (all night long) which of course is not their fault but still we think they should have offered a solution. we had to ask about it at the end of our stay and got a refund of 10$ each. even though the room is nice, the staff is friendly and the location good we had a really bad experience with this hotel and i am very disappointed, since it was very expensive. other things you should know: you have to pay for drinks extra during lunch and dinner (even if you booked a full meal plan). check out is at 10 (no late check out possible) although they can store your things.

We booked this hotel for 1 night. we came with our two dogs which in advance they told us they would charge 20$ each. they are very well behaved, clean and quiet chihuahuas. we agreed and it was ok, even though we still find this very expensive. the staff was very nice and let us leave our bags and dogs in a spare room while we went to machu pichu. We had two very big issues during our stay. First they did not inform us in advance that the whole hotel is under construction and the pool and jacuzzi are used for concrete mixing. They were the whole reason we chose this hotel, we are very unhappy with that. they didn't offer us any refund and only let us know about this situation AFTER we paid for the room. The house was not ready yet, and I immediately changed it, but from the fifth floor, there was a balcony with six floors and no balcony. Stayed here as part of the Inca Trail trek. Our room was right above the trains that made a really loud noise all day until late at night. The fumes of the train were coming into our room. It was like the train was IN the room. We asked for a different room but they could only offer us a room in the basement with no windows that smelled like mold. We went out to buy some earplugs but couldn't find them. After reaching out to our trekking guide that we couldn't sleep this way, they could offer us a better room all of sudden: higher up and with double glazed windows: so a lot quieter. Until the next morning. They started inhouse construction at 7.30 am. Drilling, hammering... So no, I would not recommend this place of you're looking for a good night of rest after your trek. (The trains are closer to the hotel now because of a mudslide that happened two months ago. They had to reroute the train station.)

Excellent place, very clean, comfortable beds, very good location. The owners were very attentive, allowing us to check in early and then leave our luggage while we walked. The best thing about the stay was chiquitín, the receptionist dog who greets you with great joy, energy and enthusiasm when you arrive at the hotel.

Excellent value for money at this basic but very accomodating hotel. Very friendly staff and the location is right on the river so we enjoyed a great view from our room. Breakfast was very good. It’s an older building so don’t expect luxury but if you want comfort, location and price- this is a good option. Bathroom was not amazing but fine for us.

LO BUENO: El hotel está muy bien ubicado, la atención muy buena, el dueño Franklin sumamente servicial.. Te buscan en la estación del tren. La limpieza impecable. El desayuno es bueno. LO MALO: las toallas de mano las tuvimos q pedir siempre, ya q nos las ponen, el mayor problema es que se escucha demasiado los ruidos del hotel, las puertas de las habitaciones tienen un vidrio arriba por lo q cdo se enciende la luz del pasillo cuando alguien pasa, ilumina permanentemente y no deja descansar, las ventanas de los baños dan los pasillos y se escuchan claramente cdo alguien se baña ya q están muy cercanas unas de otras. No hay un cesto de basura en la habitación para tirar papeles, botellas plásticas etc. El WiFi es inestable.
