I mostly enjoyed my two nights at this hotel. The staff was professional, the room was clean, and breakfast was a beautiful spread. The only thing I wish my ground floor room had was a little more privacy. I wanted to read in my room during one afternoon but the curtains made it too dark and the only other option was the black-out curtains. I wish there had been a sheer curtain option because when I left the doors with no curtain, the gardeners walked by and could see into my room. Not relaxing at all. I did like that the hotel was close enough to walk to the cathedral and the city center but was far enough away to not hear a lot of noise.

Hotel is in a great location and near all the main tourist areas, and also shops, bars and restaurants. I was very disappointed about the staff at the hotel. On check-in, after waiting about 10 minutes as the receptionist typed on her computer, we eventually got our room keys. Staff were not very welcoming and did not tell us anything about the hotel, facilities, breakfast room or the Pool. When we got to the room, we found that we didnt have a bath-tub (which was why I booked that room), no robe and no slippers. Mini-bar was empty with a sign saying it was closed due to Covid safety. I have no idea what Covid safety has to do with it. No other hotel I was in in Spain has had excuse. Also, no water in the room. No sanitisers in the room either. When I called reception to enquire, she said she would send water up, and then we had to sign to pay 4 Euro for the bottle. Terrible service, how can a hotel not provide water to their guest. This is coming from an expensive 5 star hotel. On checkout it was as bad, but I couldnt wait to leave then. Checkout person had a phone to his ear the whole time, took our key cards, and the continued his call. No receipt, no 'goodbye', nothing. The room itself was very nice, but the sound proofing is absolutely awful. All we could hear each morning was the noise of doors banging, hoovers and we could even hear snoring from the room beside us. So you had no choice but to wake up early with all the noise. Also the air-con is terrible, we left it on the whole time, and the room was still very warm. It was only about 20 degrees outside, so I would hate to stay here in the miiddle of Summer. Total let down of a hotel, I would avoid it. I think alot of 5 star hotels have gotten lazy during Covid, but have no problem charging top prices.

We were looking forward to our two days after walking the Camino. Staff were excellent and professional. Terrible musty smell on the 2nd Floor. Huge stains on the hallway floor. Sauna broken,and no heat in rooms, just A/C. Cold in the room the last night we stayed. When we arrived the A/C was not working,till maintenance arrived. I have worked in hotels alot of my life, this was disappointing especially as it was exspensive. Its a shame as im sure it was fantastic when it opened, the company needs to spend some money and give their customers a 5 star experience.

The hotel itself is also a scenic spot, right next to the church. It is easy to get lost in the back-shaped corridor, so you must find a good direction first when you get out of the elevator. Every corner of the hotel is decorated in a very simple and simple way. If you don't arrange anything for a day, you can just stay in the hotel. In the middle of the week when it is not the peak season, the room was already ready for check-in at 8:00 in the morning. It was a surprise, so I quickly took a shower and went out refreshingly. The breakfast is also very good. Although the breakfast room is not big, it is well arranged.

I had a very pleasant stay. At the reception Ida welcomed me in perfect Dutch. Better than mine!!! She helped me very kindly with all the things I forgot to bring along. Later she double checked if everything was ok. The gym next door is brilliant. It has a salted, hot water, outside, 50 meter pool open all year around. The gym is part of the Metropolitan chain, presumably the best around in Spain.

Our group of 15 stayed at the Lar de Mota Hotel in May 2023 while we were walking the Camino Frances from Triacastela to Santiago. What an incredible experience! The hotel is a beautifully renovated 16th Century farmhouse, with wonderful furnishings and art throughout. It is set in an idyllic rural setting. No detail was spared by Javier and Prema to make our stay as comfortable and delightful as possible. Dinner was a gourmet dining experience, much appreciated by our pilgrims. This gem of a hotel was perfect for my visit. Everyone was so kind and accommodating. The room was spotlessly clean and tidy and the bed linens and towels were very comfy. The food and drinks served at the Cafe in the lobby were delicious. My only complaint is that my room was right next to the houskeeping service room which was noisy each morning beginning at 8:00am. But still giving 5 stars as all the other attributes made up for the inconvenience.

There are things to improve that may cost money. I don't get in there. It's true that prices are very cheap and that more can't be asked. But there are things that are free and can give you the reverse to this business that has everything to win: 1) Knowing to delegate, as in the lucio home , the mayor has already to let the dresses be taken to the younger. (That man could teach us a hill of knowledge) 2) Basic hostel rules, repay drinks, ask customers if everything is okay, NOT put the second dishes at the same time. 3) Laugh+Education +Laugh+Laugh (comes on the pay ....we have a good day or not) 4) if I have a full dish I always come back with a vacuum 5) practice welcome and goodbye, both for whom asks for a nice and for whom asks for a cut.( The coffee may be back tomorrow for nice) 6)A mule for q the door of the hostel no cottages. 7) You have to try the food and watch every day if we pass from salt point .....for eg. I'm sure that the business reality is a lot of information I don't know. Chose this hotel for overnight as on outskirts of SDC for easy get away next morning. Situated high on a hill the rooms face the courtyard or the pool/ tennis court, town and busy road. Super easy parking. Decor is a bit 80s time warp, but the hotel has a slightly faded grand hotel layout with sitting areas about, wide corridors and spacious rooms. we took a family room so we had 2 double beds for a bit more space rather than 2 small singles. Due to Covid the room was a bit stripped down...no kettle, minibar, robes, slippers, notepad etc. Very clean. Got a complimentary bottle wine but no corkscrew to open it. Good basic buffet breakfast with plastic gloves to wear to use buffet. Simón, who checked us in was charming and very helpful giving us all the useful info. Good wifi. Did hear some noise from nearby room with kids going crazy but just a few hours in the evening. Wonderful huge size bath. Great linen and pillows and very comfy bed made for good nights sleep. Would use again. If you want to open windows ask for a room facing the courtyard so there is no road noise. Room service limited hours but came fast and was delicious. Very good value for what we paid and a great night's sleep.

This hotel is nicely located across from the beach, the beach view was amazing and within walking distance to activities and restaurants/old town. Hotel staff was friendly, warm and welcoming. They spoke English very well (thank you) The room was very small and bare-bones. Pillow well used and bed small. No coffee pot or hot water for instant, and sp**** in amenities. No where to put luggage. Breakfast was just OK. ”Hot” items were not hot (eggs, etc). The bathroom was beautiful polished marble but extremely slippery even with a little moisture. The tub was also slippery and dangerous. There was a lot of noise from the grooming of the beach and picking up trash in the middle of the night.

As we were attending a family wedding here, we decided to stay in an apartment (villa) for a few days. We had a very warm welcome from the guy on reception, who was really helpful throughout our stay. The villas are all detached and very unusual looking as can be seen in the photos. We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit which was incredibly spacious, comfortable and well-maintained. The complex is beautifully kept and fascinating to wander around. Although it was absolutely full, it was amazingly quiet most of the time. However, be warned that the weddings can go on until 3:00 and the noise is incredibly loud. We were attending one, so not complaining! The supermarket is about a 15 minute walk or very short drive away and the beach a 30 minute walk. The ancient pazo is fabulous inside and the grounds are beautiful. We didn’t have chance to eat there (4 days of family celebrations - anyone who has attended a Spanish Boda will understand the amount of food involved!) This hotel is where we will always stay midweek when in A Coruna in future.

I had a full apartment that was clean and modern, within 10 minutes walking distance of the cathedral. The woman who checked me in was friendly and helpful. This was excellent value for the money. I highly recommend it.

We come for the atmosphere, as this authentic place is so special to stay in. It was once a seminary, so to get the full experience it's best to spend several nights here. We always ask for the rooms that are just for 2 people (as some are pilgrim rooms with bunk begs, so check when booking) It's quite basic which is fine & the same can be said for the dining (breakfast & dinner, served in the old refectory) but that's all part of the experience. Location could not be better as it's facing the Cathedral of St James in the centre of the old city. It's really good value & it's a great place to meet interesting people from all walks of life & all parts of the world. This year the only thing that was not quite there was the lounge/coffee area was still closed (after the pandemic) & as this is the area where everywhere mixes after some very weary travelling to swap stories, well...we missed it. Otherwise all was really good as usual!

The hotel is located on the outskirts of A Coruña, but in a well-connected area, there are many bars and supermarkets nearby. The rooms are good, although they are small. The beds are also very small (in hotels, they are usually king-size, not). Although that is not a problem for us. There are two things that we don't like very much. One of them is that the gym has been broken for several weeks and we were not notified before departure. The next day, they gave us another option, which was good, and worse, they should notify the customer in advance. On the other hand, the breakfast was not very good. During the Covid era, there were few rooms. I know they had a wide range of products, but they were not four-star hotels.
