The hostel cleanliness is one of the best I've ever been to. You can see the staffs cleaning the place all the time.
The hostel staffs looked very busy all the time and not very friendly. A local frontdesk lady was quite rude, not only to me and also to other travellers. (I met other travellers in the bus terminal, they(2of them) had same experience too.) Kinda feel like we are bothering them(staffs) when we have any questions.
The volunteer guy from Algeria was very nice and helpful, he was the only helpful guy.
They have a very cute kitty.
Not really social vibe here, probably is because the common space is too huge plus the hostel staffs are not friendly.
Dogs were barking all night.
Would recommend for a clean stay. For me, I wouldn't come back.

I really liked staying at this hostel. The owner was very kind, friendly, and always helpful, which made me feel comfortable and welcomed from the moment I arrived. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxed, and everything was well taken care of. Overall, it was a genuinely good experience, and I truly enjoyed my stay here. I would definitely recommend this place and wouldn’t mind coming back again.

I recently stayed at the YMCA Hotel in Penang, and overall, my experience was quite satisfactory for a 2-star establishment. Overall, If you’re looking for a budget-friendly option in Penang with a central location, YMCA Hotel is a solid choice. It’s perfect for travelers who prioritize location and affordability over luxury. Just manage your expectations regarding the room’s aesthetics and amenities.

Это был мой первый опыт жизни в хостеле. Я ставлю этому месту 10/10, я довольна абсолютно всем. За такую цену это подарок. Рестхаб находится в самом центре Джорджтауна, самые популярные достопримечательности в шаговой доступности. Через дорогу торговый центр, очень много кафе и ресторанов в округе. В капсулах, то есть комнатах, очень чисто, удобный матрас и подушки. Выдаются полотенца, тапочки и зубные щетки с пастой. В душевых есть шампунь, гель для душа, мыло и даже фен. Всё соседи культурные, соблюдается тишина. Чувствуется безопасность благодаря тому, что комнаты закрываются автоматически и открываются с помощью ключ карты.

A comfortable & safe place to stay, besides that, the staff on duty are very friendly and welcoming to customers, as well as the price offers are very worthwhile & economical, I suggest you try booking accommodation at ”Aayu Chulia Georgetown”.

這家酒店的整體體驗讓我非常滿意！首先，最方便的一點就是酒店提供機場接送服務。司機很準時、態度也很好，從機場到酒店的過程非常順利，完全不需要擔心交通或迷路的問題。對於第一次來這個城市的旅客來説，這項服務真的很貼心。
酒店的衞生狀況也相當不錯，無論是大堂、電梯還是房間內部，都打掃得很乾凈，空氣也清新，沒有異味。房間的床鋪柔軟舒適，浴室乾淨整潔，毛巾和用品都準備得很齊全，讓人住得很安心。每天的清潔服務也很到位，工作人員都會主動打掃、補齊日用品。
地理位置方面也非常棒，酒店位於一個很方便的區域，附近有許多餐廳、咖啡館和便利店，走幾步路就能買到吃的或日用品。無論是想吃當地特色小吃，還是簡單解決一餐，都非常容易。除此之外，酒店離商場和公共交通也不遠，出門打車或搭公交都很方便。

GGuest UserThis was a temporary stopover near the airport. The environment was, to put it mildly, not great. The shower and toilet weren't separated, and as it's a Muslim household, you can't wear shoes inside, which made using the bathroom quite a hassle. Another issue was the significant noise from the road. However, it was cheap and close to the airport, and the host was very welcoming.

GGuest UserThe room was quite noisy, as it faced the laundry service area and had several air conditioning units just below the window, resulting in constant noise throughout the night.
The reception staff member was unfriendly and not helpful. He was often not present at the desk, and I had to look for him when I needed assistance.
There was also an issue with the deposit return. In a rather rude manner, he told me it would only be returned at 12:00 PM (it was 10:35 AM at the time). When I explained that I had a ferry at 11:15 AM and asked for the reason, he walked away, saying he would not return it earlier and told me to contact Customer Service via WhatsApp. This kind of behavior is not acceptable, although it may have been due to a language barrier.
Additionally, the bed sheets were not clean, and overall cleanliness could be improved.

RRonin tanI was very satisfied with my overall experience at this hotel! First and foremost, the most convenient aspect was the airport transfer service. The driver was punctual and friendly, making the journey from the airport to the hotel very smooth. I didn't have to worry about transportation or getting lost at all. This service is truly thoughtful, especially for first-time visitors to the city.
The hotel's hygiene was also quite impressive. Whether it was the lobby, elevators, or inside the rooms, everything was meticulously cleaned, and the air was fresh with no unpleasant odors. The bed in the room was soft and comfortable, the bathroom was clean and tidy, and all the towels and amenities were well-stocked, making for a very reassuring stay. The daily cleaning service was also excellent; the staff would proactively clean and replenish daily necessities.
The location was also fantastic. The hotel is situated in a very convenient area with many restaurants, cafes, and convenience stores nearby. You can easily find food or daily essentials within a short walk. Whether you want to try local specialties or just grab a quick meal, it's incredibly easy. Moreover, the hotel is not far from shopping malls and public transportation, making it convenient for taking a taxi or public bus.

Iisaac_isacWith the economic price of the hostel, it gets everything including shower (not too hot water), room with air cond. (not very spacious) and a simple free breakfast (only toast with jam/butter & watermelon). Good for backpackers and sth need to know in advance: no shoes allow walking up the stairs to rooms (no lift). Hopefully the cold water section of their water fountain will be fixed, so people can have free cool drinking water without buying bottles.
The staffs were nice and got recommended to try mee sotong😄

GGuest UserGotta say, the vibe at this hostel is amazing, exactly what you'd expect from an international hostel. There are activities every night, and everyone is so welcoming. It's perfect for young people and those who love to socialize. Just a friendly tip: it's a good idea to bring a pair of slippers! 😹😹😹 And they have cats! When I was leaving in the morning, a cat seemed to sense I was alone and came over to keep me company.

GGuest UserThe staff at the hotel is so friendly and welcoming. Excellent service. The room is spacious, clean and bed very comfortable. Walking distance to Gurney drive and Gurney promenade. Early morning watch sun rises over the horizon. The promenade is big and clean. People jogging.
Food court nearby. Hotel 22 is the most colourful hotel in the area and can be seen from a distance. Would recommend anyone to stay in Hotel 22 if they are on the budget.

GGuest UserWe had an amazing stay at Gather Inn in George Town, Malaysia. The hosts were absolutely brilliant — so attentive, welcoming, and always happy to help with anything we needed. The room was spotless, with great facilities and everything maintained to a really high standard. The air conditioning was fantastic, which made such a difference in the heat and kept the room super comfortable. The location was also perfect: very close to the centre and all the main attractions, yet tucked away in a quiet area so we could get a great night’s sleep every night. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting George Town!
