Travelled with my friend to Kussharo Genya youth house earlier last month when we were at Hokkaido. It was such a quaint experience! Location: The guesthouse is located nearby Kussharo lake (by car), with a small path leading into the house itself. Interior and vibe: Inside, the guest house has pretty tall ceilings, a good amount of sun exposure and a very homely vibe. They have 2 cats - Yomu chan and Rin chan if I recall correctly. THEY ARE SO CUTE! The room itself is quite spacious as well and comes with a sink. Common toilets and baths are found on the first floor. Meals: There are in house meals available - and the owner was very kind to accommodate our last minute dinner requests when we checked in even though we didn't pre-order. Fyi - he used to be a chef so the meals are good! There is a communal breakfast too. Things to do around: There are a couple of ecotour providers around, which you can canoe with or do trekking with depending on what you like. My friend and I signed up for snow shoe trekking at Kussharo lake and lied in the middle of a frozen lake! If photography is your thing, the owner also wakes up early every morning to take photos of the sea of clouds; usually there's a cut off time to sign up the previous night at dinner. People Yamamoto-san (the guest house owner) runs the guest house with his family. He is a multi talented man who used to be a chef but also is deeply into photography and has his own Instagram account updating photos of the daily sea of clouds. At first sight, he might seem a little unfriendly, but he was very accommodating to our last minute requests and even helped to deliver my iPad to the station when I left it at the guesthouse. Thank you for the wonderful stay!

This hostel is absolutely stunning! 😻 It used to be a hospital, and the architecture is a beautiful blend of Japanese and Western styles, making you feel like you're staying in a castle. The staff are incredibly friendly too. While it's a bit of a walk from the station, I highly recommend it if you're traveling solo! The private spaces are super comfortable, and the price is very affordable!

Cozy Inn is superb, can easily be reached by bus or by car. Plenty of parking spaces. Room is big and clean. Close to Aeon and Daiso. Walkable to the canal if you are not driving. Check in uses machine and strictly only after 3pm, so do not come early. Overall, I highly recommend!

The hotel is surprisingly good. The room is large in Japan, and the small living room also provides tatami mats. You can experience two styles in one room. The hotel's natural hot spring is also very comfortable. I haven't used the bathtub in the room. I ran into the hot spring after skiing. It was so comfortable. You can buy the hotel's homemade mask on the first floor. The effect is very good with the hot spring. The bathrobes provided by the hotel are also very beautiful. You can wear the bathrobes to the restaurant after taking a bath. The breakfast and dinner are also great value, delicious and not expensive. There is also a free shuttle bus to two ski resorts, the treasure hotel of Niseko.

This hostel has a great location. Hokkaido University, with its excellent museum, is just a short walk north – I'd highly recommend checking it out. However, the room I stayed in had 20 beds on one floor, so if you're a light sleeper or sensitive to noise, you might want to look elsewhere. It's really more suited as a cheap, temporary place to crash.

酒店雖然不在湖邊，但是幾條火山徒步路徑匯合於此，門口還有公交車，所以還是很方便的。設施雖然比不上豪華酒店，但基本滿足需求。酒店門口有條通往金比羅山火口展望台停車場的路（圖1），雖然沒有在徒步路徑地圖上，但是瞭望洞爺湖和火山口的好地方，從酒店走去也就不到20分鐘，個人比較推薦。

Stayed two nights at this hostel. The room was clean and quite spacious. We were a little surprised that we had to put on the bed sheet liners ourselves, but we understood that it is part of the hostel’s culture and regulations, so it was fine for us. The shared toilets were clean and well maintained for all guests. However, the main disappointment was that the hostel’s air conditioning was not working properly on the second night, unlike the first night. The room became very humid and stuffy, making it difficult for us to fall asleep even after informing the hostel reception.

Four of us shared a room, with curtains providing privacy between beds even though it was a mixed-gender room. Everyone was very quiet, and there was no noise. There were two very clean shower rooms on our floor, and we never had to wait in line. We received a free towel at check-in, which was collected along with the bedding at check-out. On the common floor, there's a fridge to store your own food and tables for resting or working. Overall, it was a perfect first hostel experience! If I had to pick a flaw, it would be that the entire building shares one small elevator, so sometimes you might have to wait a bit longer – that's probably the only downside!

The hostel is located on the 3rd floor of the Tanukikoji shopping arcade. You'll need to look carefully for the sign, as the entrance is narrow. However, the room (sleeping area) is very quiet. The mattress and pillows are comfortable to sleep on, and there are privacy curtains on the beds. There's enough space in the bunk to store a carry-on bag. Please note that the hostel does not offer luggage storage before check-in or after check-out. The shared kitchen, though small, provides an electric kettle, microwave, and oven. There are also outlets and seating in the common lounge area. Large bath towels are not provided.

This was truly the best accommodation. Even during the Snow Festival, it was comfortable and pleasant to stay here (on weekdays). The capsule interior is spacious enough for a sturdy man to sleep comfortably, and there's a dedicated 110V outlet for charging. The property features an izakaya, mahjong tables, recliner rooms, a manga cafe, and a bathhouse with a sauna, all of which are of considerable quality. To use these facilities, you must wear the designated clothing provided. Toothbrushes, towels, and clothing can be received free of charge whenever you need them. Overall, perhaps because it's male-only, I was able to stay in a quiet atmosphere. However, occasionally there are female staff members who enter and exit the bathhouse for scrubbing or cleaning, so there's no need to be alarmed. If you request breakfast the day before, it costs 1000 yen; without a prior request, it's 1400 yen. The breakfast includes fish, meat, fried items, curry, drinks, dessert, and even crab. Finally, regarding the location: it's near Susukino Station, the largest entertainment district, making most restaurants and attractions easily accessible (Nikka billboard, Don Quijote, entertainment venues). Also, Odori Park is right nearby, making it perfect for enjoying the Snow Festival, and it's close to Sapporo Station, which is convenient for day trips to the outskirts. There's really no need to book a business hotel; for this price, this place is quite remarkable.
