This hostel was recommended in Lonely Planet along with several other travel blogs from Inner Mongolia and it did not disappoint. The location was fantastic as it was set a bit further out from the hustle and bustle of the main streets. The ranch sits directly beside a river and parallel with it is a walking/biking path that is perfect for pictures during golden hour and for seeing the stars at night. It would have been nice to know in advance that foreigners are required to complete their own registration at the local police station because we could have gone there straight instead, but fortunately it was only a five minute drive from the hostel and we were able to check-in without a problem. It was hot at night and the air conditioner didn't seem to work despite setting it to 19 degrees Celsius. Enhe ranch was in a great location for a day trip to Shiwei on the Russian border along with the birch forests in E'erguna on our way down to Hailar. My favorite part was the view from the bedroom--stunning!

Lemongo (Lantern) Youth Hostel provided exactly what my friend and I had been looking for during our trip though Inner Mongolia: a sense of community. While we had initially only booked one night, we were welcomed so warmly and enthusiastically by the hotel staff on the night of our arrival after a difficult travel day from Hailar, Hulunbuir that we decided to extend our stay at the hostel by two nights (for which the owner gave us a discount along with free breakfast). They were great in providing recommendations for where to eat and organizing a driver to take us out on a day trip to Laoniuwan 老牛湾 to see the Yellow River and the canyons where Inner Mongolia and Shanxi meet. The amenities were fantastic, including thoughtful nightlights that lit up automatically in case one needed to use the bathroom in the middle of the night. We would wholeheartedly recommend this hostel to any other foreigners passing through Hohhot. You will not be disappointed!

The boss is very enthusiastic and recommends tourist attractions in Hohhot. It is close to the train station and airport. The hostel is close to the Inner Mongolia Museum, Science and Technology Museum and Art Museum. Food and accommodation are convenient near Wanda Plaza! I will come back next time.

Genhe Small Hotel is located in the middle of the second street of Genhe. It is more convenient to eat and shop. It also provides 2 bottles of Genhe Mountain Spring. I heard from the boss that there is no heating for three months. The hotel not only has heating but also floor heating. It is very, very warm. Genhe Luguya Scenic Area is also very beautiful.

In fact, it is possible. I went to live with my friends for the Huda exam. I booked it many days in advance so the price was very cheap. So the requirements should not be too high, it belongs to the youth hostel category. The owner was very casual. When we arrived, he was not there. When we called, we could take the room card and take a rest. Then, when we went downstairs to eat in the evening, we checked in and paid a deposit. The same was true when we checked out the next day. He added the deposit refunded by WeChat. If it’s an exam, it’s okay. It’s not far from Huda and it’s very convenient to eat.
