Harry Potter Sweet Suites

Even though reviews toward this guest house, which were shown in Google, are rather low, I am satisfied with overall features in the house. Especially if you like using public transportation such as buses and trains in Seattle, the location of the house is rather good. It only takes 10-20 minutes from the house to downtown in Seattle. Also, though the size of the room is rather small, but also it was also enough to sleep. However, the drawback in the house is that you can hear the noises from the other rooms. If you are super-sensitive to hearing noises, then I wouldn't recommend the place. However, if you are not sensitive to it, then probably it would be fine.

We were happy with the entire experience. Cabins are very nice and very clean. The managers were very friendly and willing to help with anything you may have needed. The little extras were a nice surprise. The tub had multiple ares for shampoos, conditioner and wash clothes. Older people will feel comfortable in the tub with the numerous areas they could use to hold onto while using the tub and getting out. There are several restaurants nearby with friendly locals. We saw an elk in a yard close to our cabin and was told they sometimes would graze on the grass in the yards around the cabins. Wonderful experience!
North Cascades Inn

Buffalo Run Inn/North Cascades Inn Exceeded my expectations. When I booked our 1 night stay I had zero to low expectations and wow was I surprised. The inn and our room #5 were spotlessly clean, well maintained and our bed was very comfortable. The fridge in our room contained muffins, fruit and juice for breakfast, as well as cookies. Looked like the inn was newly renovated or just maintained with TLC. I would suggest that the shower head in room #5 be replaced. The Wi-Fi was very good, Verizon cell service was 1 bar or nothing. The owner let us into our room early and he obviously took pride in maintaining his property as he was cleaning up the front when we were leaving. He also owns upriver grill and taproom which is across the street and was headed there to help in the kitchen when we arrived. If you stay at his inn and eat at his restaurant you get a discount. Which we did and had a surprisingly good meal. WOW can’t say enough good things about both places

The location of the hotel is convenient. Gas station and restaurant nearby. My husband and I we are in room 114. The room smelled old and the carpet is clean but it look dirty. The bathroom floor always wet make it smell bad even it clean. We can hear the guests next room when they turn on and turn off water that how thin the wall is. The bed was comfortable and the air conditioning is working but very lousy. Breakfast was very limited of choice, English muffins, toast, apple, juice and coffee.

The hotel is facing the street, the sound insulation is too bad, people who don’t sleep well should not enter, it’s really not good.
Iron Horse Inn Bed & Breakfast

The Iron Horse Inn B&B was converted over 30 years ago from a long-empty lodging house for railroad workers into a bed and breakfast, one I frequented over half a dozen times over the years. In late 2019 a chimney fire spread to the whole structure, luckily when there were no guests present, and the inn burned to the ground. Others might have walked away, but the owners didn't, they rebuilt it better than ever. The new Inn has four spacious bedrooms on the main floor, plus an expansive common room where one can lounge on sofas by the gas fireplace, make a cup of tea, chat with other guests. It also has tables for breakfast, which featured delicious egg dishes with eggs the owners let our granddaughter ”harvest” from the chicken coop nearby when we arrived. The new inn is quite a change from ”before the fire” when the original room configuration was small rooms and common bathrooms down the hallway, just the way the railway workers had it. But there's something to be said for spacious rooms and private bathrooms, as it is now. Over the years the inn also acquired four cabooses. These have been open while the inn itself was rebuilt, but without breakfast as there was no common room or kitchen for that. Breakfast in the main inn building is now part of the deal for the cabooses. Our adult son and his wife and two kids (7& 11) were over the moon over the experience of sleeping in a caboose! They all shared one of the two cabooses that have child-sized beds in the former cupula sitting area atop the caboose. The adults had the queen bed on the main level of the caboose and the kids were up high, similar to the top bunk of a bunk bed, with windows giving them a 360 view when the curtains were pulled back. We are SO happy to see the Iron Horse Inn B&B back at ”full steam” again. Our room, the common room and the caboose were spanking clean, the breakfast tasty and filling, the coffee endless, the hosts some of the friendliest b&b owners we've encountered over the years. The Inn is also connected by a short path to the former rail yard of the Milwaukee Road train line that closed up shop in the 1970s. Train buffs will want to spend a bit of time walking around a self-guided tour of the train yard, where the station is still there in fading glory, and remains of the former roundhouse and other structures may be examined like archeological ruins. This is also a great area for biking, and many years ago I led a bike club trip from the inn. Quiet country roads parallel I-90 for many miles in both directions and also off to Roslyn and Lake Cle Elum, and the path of the Milwaukee Road train line is now a bike path that runs from the Seattle suburbs to points east of the Columbia River.

We spent two nights here in mid September on a circuit around the national park. It was a great ending to a week of hiking to enjoy the beaches. We stayed in a cabin on the bluff, one of the few left. It was rustic but quite comfortable with a large main area, kitchen area, small bathroom and a separate bedroom. The exterior had a carport, patio and a picnic table and Adirondackville chairs on the lawn. We were steps from beach access. We were also close to the lodge where we had a nice dinner one evening. The mercantile on site had a decent selection of snacks and drinks, coffee drinks and fabulous soft serve ice cream. We were just minutes by car away from Ruby beach and fourth beach with the amazing tide pools. We walked up a trail from the lodge one afternoon to beach access from the campground to see the tree of life, walking back on the soft sand. A very nice stay. Very quiet at night.

The waterpark and our room, along with the hallways, stairwells, and common areas was so clean! Every employee was so nice and HAPPY! Literally everyone from housekeeping, to the people disinfecting the stairwells, front desk to the camp crew! So many smiles and them asking if we're having a good time! Kim in the arcade was amazing and so patient helping our crew of 21 people to get situated for mini-golf! She deserves some recognition! Ethan who led story time and the dance party on Saturday evening was amazing! Enthusiastic and full of energy! So refreshing! Yes all the extras are a little bit $$ but my kids would have been fine with the waterpark and MagiQuest! (they're 10 and 8). Felt safe with my kids running all around, and the lifeguards were on it in the park! Also did the ropes course which was really fun for all ages. I guess the only negative thing I'd have to say is that it was hard for grandpa to ride the slides as there were so many stairs. He's pretty chill, so he didn't mind watching the grandkids have fun, and he went on the smaller slides (the ones by the huge bucket). Didn't ruin the trip at all, just thought I'd mention! All 21 of us from age 4-73 had a great time!

The feedback from the friends is very good. There is a fast food downstairs. It is too convenient to have a supermarket opposite.
