But the most amazing thing is the staff. Denis, Luis, Luisa (and Hugo for one day) formed the most attentive team I have ever seen. They don’t wait for you to ask for help, they offer it. And they take the time to get to know you and provide tailored recommendations. Obrigada muito to all of you and to the unseen helpers who prepared our food and kept GHD sparkling clean!

This is a charming boutique hotel in an old building with an exceptional staff. In fact, I have never encountered friendlier or more helpful hotel staff anywhere I have traveled in Europe, Mexico or South America. All three women who alternated working the ( Sara, Catarina and Paula) speak several languages and were happy to assist with requests, provide recommendations, and just sit and chat. The rooms are clean, the beds comfortable and the breakfast buffet was very good. Our room on the first floor up the stairs was a bit noisy when people were checking in at night, but this is the only negative thing we encountered in the several days we stayed there. It is a wonderful place, and I would definitely stay there again if I go back to Porto.

The guest house is lovely, really authentic look and feel to the place, but with modernisation in all the right places. The electric pin access doors rather than worrying about carrying a key around were particularly welcomed. Location could not be better for access to Ribeira and the Douro river front, with the other regions, wine cellars etc all easily walkable. Other than taxis to and from the airport, we did the whole city on foot and felt we saw a good amount of things to see. Staff were very pleasant and professional across the board, happy to give tips and advice when asked. Beds and rooms comfortable, shutters a nice addition to the windows and the rooms were spacious and spotless. There was a bit of road noise through the windows due to the proximity to the road and tunnel, but it's city centre hotel so to be expected, and it was very quite during sleeping hours. Would not hesitate in returning when we come back to Porto in future!

My wife and I flew into Santiago and took an excursion to Porto via bus. It was a 3.5 hour bus journey but quite comfortable and well worth it. The front desk closes early and we got to the hotel late but it was no problem as Laura gave us the codes to get into the hotel and our room. The room was more like a suite with bed, sofa, kitchenette and large bathroom with old style tub/shower. The kitchen had the basics for cooking but more importantly a small fridge. There is also a kettle for tea or coffee (coffee, tea, snacks and Port are provided but cost extra. The bed was extremely comfortable and cannot fault the room whatsoever. The breakfast is very small but adequate to start the day and you can get eggs to order if you ask. Laura was extremely helpful and worked very hard to make our stay there as comfortable as possible. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the metro station where you can get to and from the airport and maybe 15 to 20 minute walk from the main train station and is mostly up hill. There are ubers and taxis also so plenty or ways to get to and from. There is a food market within 5 minutes walking and plenty of restaurants equally close. It is also probably a 20 to 25 minute walk to the river front where there are also lot's of restaurants etc. Lot's of hills but again there are taxis and Uber available. Porto is a great 2 to 3 day town and if your staying more, Laura can arrange excursions as well to winery's etc. Our experience was good food, good wine, and lot's to see with a great hotel to come back to and relax. We had a great stay! The place was incredibly clean and it was beautiful with lots of natural light. We added the welcome kit of wine, cheese, meat and fruit and it was amazing! I would definitely stay here again in the future. The staff was incredibly helpful with recommendations and holding our luggage before check in and after check out.

The hotel is on the pedestrian street. It is very convenient. Breakfast is delivered to the room on time every day. It is continental but too rich. There is coffee, cheese, bread and cheese, cakes... The room is clean. The front desk is also very enthusiastic about introducing Bordeaux . 👍

We loved absolutely everything about our one bedroom apartment here at this aparthotel. The service was great. We got clear directions on how to access the apartment as we arrived late. The apartment was clean, spacious and very well equipped. We faced the gardens in back and had coffee on our balcony. So lovely. The location really could not have been better. Literally within walking distance of everything including the town of Vila Nova di Gaia across the river. I must make special note of the incredible hospitality of Anna. She was warm, informative and so very helpful. She is a treasure, that I hope is appreciated. Thank you for the wonderful time.
