The hotel is very big with the very reasonable price.  However, the hotel don’t have ONsen and the staff could not communicate in English. The were trying to help but it took time. The city is very big. We like Masa21 mall nearby the hotel where you can go for dinner and shopping.

Pros: - Shuttle bus waiting right in front of the train station - Shuttle bus drop-off every hour in the morning till noon - the room we booked is really spacious with a western-style room and a Japanese-style room and a private bathroom - the view at our room balcony is a big bonus - There are 3 onsens in the hotel which all are good - Nice buffet breakfast with variety of Japanese food Cons: - only one drawback during my stay is other groups of guests whom spoke loudly while using the onsens

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Its location is very convenient, just a pleasant 15-minute walk from Takayama Station, with the added bonus of a reliable hourly shuttle (be sure to check the schedule in advance). We stayed in a comfortable room in the new building. The hotel is spacious, with great amenities like ice machines on every floor and a self-service laundry in the basement near reception. A real highlight was the two onsen (hot spring baths), each with a distinct style and layout featuring both indoor and outdoor areas. They were superb. The service throughout our stay was excellent. All the staff were incredibly pleasant and helpful, providing clear explanations in English upon check-in. The hotel also boasts the largest souvenir shop. We even enjoyed a beautiful snowfall from our room on the last night. We would definitely choose to stay here again on a return visit to Takayama.

I highly recommend this lodge. The staff are incredibly friendly and try their best to accommodate our breakfast preferences. The private onsen is perfect for families, offering a relaxing and intimate experience. Great stay overall, one of their baths was under renovation when I visited, which is a bummer. This is one of the places where the facilities age like fine wine. You can feel that it's dated but extremely well maintained, which I appreciate a lot. Breakfast was also amazing, there were a ton of options. The place is great for families and couples wanting to relax for a night or two.
