Was thrilled to see the blue sky upon arrival.
Road was blocked with enhanced security because of Shakira - Todo Mundo No Rio.
The hotel staffs were very helpful and approached us immediately with the luggages and deposited at the storage area upon our arrival.
The staffs were well trained and organised with good services.
Excellent location to Copacabana Beach with towels and umbrella provided.
The room with a view with vibrant energy at Copacabana beach.
The weather was rainy and cloudy the following day but could still spot quite a number of people running on the street.

To be honest, the impression of the hotel is twofold. On the one hand, it is an exclusive hotel, on the other hand, there were so many people that I did not feel exclusivity. You can't push through the pool. For some reason, in order to get to the pool and the beautiful view, you need to ask the hostess (who, of course, ask with a menacing look if you have a reservation and that there are no places) and you stand behind a red rope that blocks your way. I was not very pleased with this. Perhaps this excludes a super big crush, but the effect itself that they are blocking my way for my money is not pleasant.
A very interesting mattress, more like a feather bed. Soft, comfortable. The room is very, very dark - I did not like this either.
It is very interesting that at breakfast nowhere is it offered (no picture/message, the waiters do not say) that you can order waffles, avocado toast, or something else. Why is this kept a secret? A decent, budget-friendly hotel in a central location, making it easy to get around on foot. It's not in a particularly attractive area, but it's perfectly adequate for a short stay and an overnight stay.
Breakfast was good; I recommend going early, as it gets quite crowded after 10:30 and can be uncomfortable.

The room has lovely views to the beach the staff are very pleasant.
I only had one problem with the nutritionist called Juliana that responded to an email I sent to her explaining about my son’s anaphylactic shock to dairy and unfortunately when we got their to the hotel it was her day off but she had no one ready to cater for my son first they offered him an apple and boiled egg and as soon as I spoke to the manager they made him pancakes scrambled eggs gave him biscuits.
It was a shame that Juliana did not do her job properly causing me and my partner stress on our first day at the hotel.
But next day they where ready for him and he also had a lovely breakfast just hope that Juliana learns how important it is to get ready for costumers that have severe allergies and treats them with more respected.
Apart from this incident everything else was spot on I also called their 24 hr service and order my son some pasta to take to our travel back home and everything was perfect.DeRUB 17.821

The hotel is located on the main street, a 5-7 minute walk to the beach. There's a currency exchange office nearby with a good rate, but it's closed on weekends and closes at 6:00 PM. Breakfasts are delicious, security is on hand, and it's very safe. We left documents and other savings in the safe, and nothing was lost. During holidays, the hotel tightens security and access control. There's a pool and a terrace with a bar with a stunning view. I booked a 28 sq m Superior Room, my fault for not booking a room with a seaview. The room has a tiny window (all the photos of the rooms shown on the website has much bigger windows) & when it’s opened, there was a rotting rubbish smell. The location is excellent, surrounded by hotels and restaurants. Across the street is the endless ocean and a beach bustling with people playing ball and running early every morning. It's very convenient to all the attractions! Of course, a sea view room would be much more comfortable. The sunrises are beautiful every day. Although you can't see east, they're still beautiful. The hotel's biggest advantage is its location; it's right next to Copacabana Beach, and the rooms offer direct views of the sand. The front desk and concierge service were exceptionally attentive, proactively helping with luggage and pressing elevator buttons, providing excellent care throughout. The top floor offers a fantastic panoramic view of the beach, but unfortunately, it opened too late in the morning, so I missed capturing the sunrise, which was a slight disappointment.
However, the hotel's shortcomings are also quite noticeable. The facilities are generally outdated. The elevators are not only old but also have limited capacity, resulting in long waits during peak hours. The rooms only have simple sheets, without blankets, which can be a bit chilly at night. The most inconvenient aspect is the lack of essential toiletries; there are no slippers, toothbrushes, or a kettle, and even complimentary bottled water isn't provided—you have to bring your own or buy it. The breakfast was average, without many surprises, and the pool was rather small. However, the nearby expansive beach completely compensates for this, making swimming more enjoyable.

We paid a lot for the carnival, and what did we get in return?
Room service was a huge help. We could eat inexpensively at any time of day or night. The pizza was a bit raw, but during Carnival, it's as if the whole Rio stops cooking properly.
The room wasn't cleaned once in 4 days, but they checked the minibar.
We had to change the towels ourselves.
The room smelled very damp and had other strange odors. We had to buy a freshener.
The room itself was old and dirty, small.
There were a lot of security guards in the lobby, but there wasn't even a water cooler.
Check-in was slow.
The elevator was a disaster.
It was sometimes 2/3, sometimes 1/3, working, and the staff was always harassing those.
Pros:
The beach is 5 minutes away.
Beach towels provided.
Room service 24/7.
Everything. If you're not coming for the carnival and there are plenty of available hotels around, this isn't the place for you.
And...they even demand a $400 deposit without warning.

The room lacked basic amenities — no duvet or blanket, broken toilet, no hot water, and a phone that didn’t work. The WiFi and TV barely functioned, the ceiling was under construction, and the room had no view with a window that opened only a sliver. The door also locked itself and the key card stopped working.

The Atlantic Ocean is right outside the window, and the rolling waves and the birds and airplanes flying overhead are a beautiful sight in themselves. I had a great stay at Hotel Atlântico Rio! They kindly allowed me to check in a few hours early, which made a big difference after a long journey. The staff were warm, helpful, and professional throughout my visit. The breakfast was fresh and satisfying, with plenty of options to start the day right.
