The hotel is great for a layover as it is super close to the airport. They have a shuttle which was a great help for me. I really enjoyed the breakfast and dinner as I missed SA food. Most of the staff was really helpful (especially Lily from the kitchen) she went above and beyond to help me cause I was with a baby. She made sure I was comfortable, had my food while she was holding my baby. I really appreciate that, thank you 🙏 . I also observed her around other customers she kept the same energy. My room was cleaned daily which was nice. My suggestion is some stuff member must give the same service to everyone regardless of who they are and how they look.

The room was very clean, spacious, and luxurious. The hotel lobby and facilities were fantastic, and I would definitely stay here again. Emails were answered promptly, and the service from all staff was very friendly and outstanding. The bed was super comfortable and spotless, which made for a great night’s sleep. You can even check in super early for about $20, which I thought was a fair deal — I checked in 6 hours early. Highly recommend this hotel!

For the price the place is okay decent enough however the staff is really loud at night . Not the reception but the team doing maintenance at night they really inconsiderate . I wouldn’t book the Melrose ever again because of that . I’ve tried the one in Sandton Katherine street I really enjoyed it .

It was our first time in joburg and it was lovely. The hotel was always clean. The food was great. Aside the breakfast which had a lot of variety, we also got to try some local dishes recommended by staff at the restaurant. The room was small but it was sufficient, as we were mostly busy sightseeing.

We made use of the free shuttle from the airport to the hotel. The drivers were helpful and friendly. This is a great value-added service. We were welcomed at reception by friendly staff. We were helped to our rooms. The rooms are modern, functional, and comfortable. We went to the 6th floor for dinner. The restaurant and bar there is called Level Seven. The staff there told us it was a privately owned restaurant and bar. We sat in the bar and ordered food and drinks. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing. The only good thing about the food that night was that the fries were awesome and seasoned well. Breakfast the next morning in the main restaurant on the ground floor was exceptional—friendly staff and really good food. Overall, a great stay, let down unfortunately by the food at Level Seven.

It's the first time I've been here. The breakfast is OK, but the room is small and the view outside the first floor window is poor. The price/performance ratio is pretty decent. You can order takeout via Uber.

The hotel smelled so good right from the entrance. The staff were very professional, kind and helpful. The shuttle driver David was extremely kind. He walked me to Nelson Mandela square and showed me also how to get back to the pick up area. He addressed me as “madam”. The check in was easy peasey. The young lady at check in was so helpful and kind. The concierge was beyond helpful too. The young man I forgot his name was so welcoming. Showed me how the elevator works. The restaurant staff especially the guys in the kitchen who cooked my eggs were very understanding and kind. Everyone I met at the hotel left a lasting impression on me. I recently stayed for a couple of nights, and overall, it was an average experience. The check-in process was smooth, and the staff was friendly, which I appreciated. However, the room itself could have been a bit more updated. While it was clean, the furnishings seemed a little worn, and the bathroom, although functional, had some minor issues like a leaky faucet. The bed was comfortable enough, but I did find it a bit harder than I prefer. The hotel amenities were standard—there was a gym and a small pool, though I didn't have time to use either. The Wi-Fi worked fine, and I didn't encounter any issues with the air conditioning or heating during my stay. One thing that stood out was the location. It was pretty convenient for my needs, close to a few restaurants and shops, though not overly special. I was hoping for a bit more from the hotel's restaurant, as the menu was somewhat limited and the food was just okay. In short, it wasn’t a bad stay, but it didn’t blow me away either. If you’re just looking for a place to sleep without expecting anything extraordinary, this hotel will do the job.

The overall experience is very good. The service staff here is also very good. The environment, hygiene, accommodation and meals are all very good. It is worth staying here. HLOGI and HAPPY are all very nice. I look forward to staying here next time.
