It is recommended that Marvão exit the Porta Este De Marvão city gate and go down the hill to the ancient Roman road of Portagem via the Convento de Nossa Senhora da Estrela. The trail takes about 2 hours. Most of the trails are shaded. It goes down the road, and the birds and flowers are scented. The front desk provides free trail maps to Portagem under the mountain, recommends local restaurants and provides the phone number of the taxi driver on the return journey. I tried Hotel Sever Rio e Restaurante Sever by the Portagem River. Only the tomato soup is delicious and generous, so I can recommend it.

Stayed with family here in a second booked room in this hotel. Outdoor pool was so inviting as the temp reached 35 deg in early October. Staff were super efficient and the prices for a late check out were very reasonable. The hotel itself is located within the walks of the town with ample outdoor parking just outside. Highly recommend a stay here.

Tudo excelente e o staff super atencioso e simpático, no entanto, muito poucos funcionários nos bares/restaurantes do hotel para tantos hóspedes. O serviço era lento.
